I drive a 2014 elantra.
Recently I have been having issues with the car stalling and haltingeven when motion. Mechanic recommended a change of camshaft heads. However, issue persists. The immobilizer light comes on when the car is on and the the rpm reduces and car goes off. What can I do?

If I understand you correctly? Your immobilizer light and other lights come on after the engine has shut off? If this is the case, then it is normal for lights to be on if the engine was running and shut off itself (not initiated by driver), if you had come on here before "camshaft head" was changed as advised by your mechanic, I'd have advised you get an OEM oil filter and see what happens. When this happens, look very carefully, does your oil light flicker?( This might be less than a second) Can be hard to catch.

Pls I've been looking for Chevrolet Service center in port Harcourt, if you know or has their number please share it.
Or any good mechanic that can work on Chevrolet car.

Obviously an electrical fault. Get a good car electrician to look at it. I suspect some shorting going on somewhere.

The problem is as a result of faulty speed sensor or speedometer. It is gradually failing and if not serviced or replaced on time will affect your ride especially in gear selection. I advice you take it to an experienced gear box rewire or electrician because it is not a mechanical fault. Do not take the car to mechanics that repair or replace gearbox but rather an electrician that is into gearbox electrical issues. If you need me to refer you to someone kindly let me know. Furthermore, you will notice that while moving the speed meter stops while rpm moves. Once the speed meter stops moving you will notice a malfunction in gear selection most especially when you want to enter gear two from one. I hope this info helps.

Damn, all these just show your engine is on its way out, did you notice this pre-purchase? I'm assuming you factored the cost of engine replacement or rebuild while negotiating the price and got a good deal. It would be really unfortunate, and sad if this isn't the case, the fix is a replacement engine or an engine rebuild, either of these could solve your problems.

Recently a rewire worked on my AC and even since then my engine shakes aggressively whenever I put on the AC and the car is in traffic. If I am driving, it drives smoothly but once I enter traffic and the AC is on, it shakes very aggressively that I have to put it off. The RPM drops to almost zero

It appears that the AC is drawing too much power from the engine.

Now they are saying I should bring 41k to change the AC panel and the fuse box to rectify the issue.

Please has anyone experienced something similar before and how was it resolved.

The AC na manual and your engine na 4plugs. So vibration is caused by fluctuations with the buoassed ac thermostat,thereby cutting and picking of the compessor,hence your rpm go dey dance. Sad thing,u have to love with it,or better still adjust the drive by cable small when o. Idle,at least raise am go 1200rpm so when co pressor picks ,e go drop to 900rpm

I had a similar experience, but no one came close to any of my AC components prior to that, issue was later found to be a bad coil causing the engine to run rough, car ran fine with AC on if it wasn't stationary, but would shake so hard if not moving and in drive (like in traffic) , shaking would reduce if ac was turned off or AC left on and car in park or neutral.
Your case seems different, the problem came after you had work done on your AC, that's a pointer, I'll advise you change that Technician.

Just bought the car Nigerian used last month.

It is possible the former owner sold the car for this reason. But there’s nothing to worry because buying a 2nd hand vehicle means you start from where the initial owner stops.

I do not know the oil the initial owner was using before you bought it, it’s possible you changed a different oil which may result to your issue.

Try to service the car using Mobil 1000 provided its Corolla 2003 upwards. Before oil change the mechanic should allow all the bad oil in the engine to drop completely.

If the problem persists, you may need to change the rings or preferably replace the engine.

You will enjoy the car as new when you change the engine provided is direct Belgium.

Mobil and Total oils remain the best in Nigeria. Avoid using any oil that’s not Mobil or Total.

You need a good rewire to check your distributor coil. Also to ensure that the spark plugs are firing perfectly. Whenever the coil overheats or fail to distribute enough power to the engine it usually results to rough idle and vibrations. I do not buy the idea of increasing the RPM cable because the engine will be high when you are not using A/c. You can as well get your mechanic to change your fuel filter and also make sure your radiator and fans are in good condition in addition to the above.
