Totes unnecessary and very crass 🤮🤮🤮🤮

Bigkenny:

The processing time for a standard visitor application is 3 weeks, and this is just an estimated time because some applicants get it within a few days after submission and some wait longer than the estimated 3 weeks.

Anyway, you should have paid for priority service since you're so impatient to wait for UKVI to decide on your application.

Some guys only have Coke money, but they are hungry for champagne.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by AmeliaT: 2:22am On Jun 10
You sound so cute.

I reckon the following:

Cover letter should state that you’re a housewife with a focus on your home but you do a little bit of fashion design on the side but not structured yet. This is however a call for you as a woman to please organise your business- CAC Reg, business account, taxes etc.

Your husband should put employed but explain the exact circumstances in his cover letter of being employed by the family business as a director but being a successor in terms of ownership. Include payslips, salary account and the “savings” account that has the 15m. When my husband applies, he always uses his corporate, his personal where he pays himself a salary and then one of my accounts where we save our money.
He should also include a letter from the business approving his leave for the exact dates you’re travelling. Ofcourse ensure the business is active on CAC.

Visas from when he was a kid and from 2001-2010 can be included; no harm and also mention this in the cover letter. He can even mention his fond summer childhood memories and how he wants to get reacquainted with the UK and take you there etc.

However, the money in the 15m account from side gigs could pose an issue as unexplained deposits. He’ll need to explain these. (My husband typically has unexplained deposits and has never explained them and always gotten his visa. He’s got a 5-year one at the minute. But he’s been to 21 countries including the US and is married to me- A British Nigerian so they may not be as hard on his application as others. Your husband may or may not enjoy the same grace but it’s best to be careful).

Goodluck!

Thank you so much for this. Don't know how to reply a comment so I clicked on "quote". I really appreciate. Now here is where I have another question.
My husband runs his business and he's the one funding our trip completely. I was initially of the opinion that his business account and his personal account statement will be sufficient. But a lady told me I will need to add mine. Is this necessary? I am not funding this trip in any way. She said the UK dosent like it when the woman is completely dependent on the man. I don't know what she means by that because when we applied for our Canadian visiting visa I did not include my bank statement, only my hubby did. She told me that UK is different from Canada.
Now, I'm a fashion designer. She is saying that if I say I'm a fashion designer, I need to include my business account and my personal account as well. But why is this important when I'm not the sponsor? When I told her, she said I should say I'm a housewife instead and still use my personal account that shows my hubby sends me money. It's all confusing. One of Hubby's personal account shows 15m balance and that's the one we are using plus corporate account that shows ten times that amount. Why do I need to still present my account. I no wan spoil show.

Hubby has been to the UK 5 times as a child. On every summer holiday between 2001-2010 he travelled to the UK and I was lucky to find his passport as a child with all the UK visas. Should I include this in the application?

Also, do I say hubby is "employed" or "self employed"? It's a famiiy business owned by his dad. Hes the first son and he's a director and his name is on the list of directors which is verifiable online. He also manages 3 branches. The same lady told me I shouldn't say employed, I should say self employed with the CAC and the company documents that includes his name. She said if we say employed, then we have to get letter from employer, we also have to use his salary account which shows monthly deposit from the company and pay slip. This wouldn't have been a problem but his salary account dosent even have the required balance for this trip. Cos once it enters, he moves it out of there to another account, and he also receives extra income from side deals on the account we plan to use. So should I say self employed? What do you say when you work in your dad's company as a director? For our Canadian visa application, he said employed, he presented a pay slip and used a personal account not salary account and we still got the visa. But this lady told me UK is very meticulous with numbers and figures and money so...

I really want to get tbis right because I must go for summer holiday o. My hubby left everything to me since I told him I don't need an agent. He said no problem I should just ask him for documents and he'll provide. Now, I'm jittery.

God bless you so much for your assistance.

Your husband can solely fund the trip and be the sponsor. Same principle you applied to Canada that was successful, apply to UK.

Not sure where that lady got her own information from - "that UK dosent like it when the woman is completely dependant on the man..." that's all bollocks in my ears. Assumptions here and there. That a husband is sponsoring a holiday for him and his wife, how does that equate to her being totally dependant on him?? I know someone who the husband sponsored the wife's study visa. It was his own account statement he provided with a cover letter. Wife didn't add any personal acct statements. And they got the visa, inclusive of their dependants as well.

As to whether employed or self employed what format did you put /use in the Canada visa application? My own logic is since Canada sailed through and was successful, follow whatever format you used there. Different countries, but all visiting visas follow same set out process (of what the immigration officials are looking out for) with same supporting docs.

Also, how can he be self employed when the business is owned by his Dad? being a director of a company does that make him self employed? It's his Dad's company you said. Does family business mean he's self employed? Is he the CEO?

Lastly you might get a couple of opinions on here. Some might vary, some might be similar. I'd say weigh all the advice/opinions and follow your gut.

My advise: keep your application as simple as possible.

1. If your husband has shares in the company, he is self employed. If he doesn't have shares in the company, then he is an employee.
2. Your husband's statement of account should be provided - not the one he uses for his side gigs. The money from the side gig might be an issue.
3. Please provide your statement of account - it doesn't matter if you are sponsoring yourself or not. It doesn't matter if there is money in the account or not.
4. If he is employed (i.e he has no shares in the company), then he needs to provide a statement of account that shows his salary and other allowances paid for six months. Other documents to support his employment status should be provided
5. Your husband's travel history and your current Canadian visa will really help your case so don't worry, all will be well.
6. Fill your forms carefully - someone already advised that you replicate the information you used in your Canadian visa application. I believe that is a good advise for you to adhere to.

Good Luck!
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Biancalatte: 10:56am On Jun 10
Hello everyone ,I lost my old nairaland account because i cant remember my user name and had to create a new one today.
So I studied nursing here in the UK and have graduated and due to start working next month with the NHS. Its a long read but i sincerely need everyone's input

My plan was to have have my dad at my graduation ceremony but sadly he past on few months before i finished my studies. Now i want to use those funds which i have been saving towards his coming , which by the way is domiciled in my naira account in Nigeria to sponsor my sister to attend my graduation next month. My elder sister is a twin and both of them will be attending the ceremony herein the UK.
They are both in their 40s.
Twin 1 whom i am sponsoring is single but has assets and registered with the CAC. She has a primary and secondary school and also a knitting company. The land for the secondary school is hers which is currently under construction. The land that has her primary school is on lease and jss1-3 of her secondary school. She is also the sole occupant at our late parents house.
Because she is building her secondary school , she has a balance of 800k in her personal account but it has inflow outflow over millions.. She does not have a business account. However like i stated i will be sponsoring her trip.

Twin 2 is married with 5 kids. Husband has various properties and a solid business. She has a shop in their compound where she does rentals and baking but not CAC registered. Husband is sponsoring her trip. Because they do not have a joint account i asked him to make her a cosignatory to his personal account with 5m in it and obtain a reference letter from the bank stating she has access to the funds. The bank said they dont give such. last week he transferred 2.7m in 2 installments to her account but reading through nairaland, i understand that is a red flag.

They both will staying at my place. I rented a 1 bedroom flat.

please i need your advice. How do i proceed. @Justwise, Gissele, Amelia T and everyone with sound advice. Please help
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 1:04pm On Jun 10
@biancalatte they can both try… but with what you have written I think it is 50:50
It will all boil down to how they can fill their forms correctly and PERSUASIVELY and also present their case to the ECO… maybe twin 2 stands a slightly higher chance due to 5 children and husband and leaving them to travel… ECO might believe she can’t abandon 5 kids just like that… other than that they do not have very strong convincing stories/circumstances, so the deciding factors would be how they fill their application forms and what they present as evidence to the ECO.

If I was applying, I would use the passing of your father to gather some emotional backbone to the application and how these sisters are all you have left and it would mean the world to have them at your graduation. Just tug at the strings as much as you can.
Sorry about your father.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Biancalatte: 1:51pm On Jun 10
Thanks Gissele. What about funds for Twin 2. Which account should she present? The 2.7m her husband bout in for her is not up to 28 days and the graduation is next month.

there is no 28 day rule relevant to any part of the visit visa process. Ideally since her husband transferred those funds to her, she still ought to present the origin of the funds .. how did her husband get the money. So his payslips or employment letter and/or bank statement would show this
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Biancalatte: 3:07pm On Jun 10
Thanks. He has business, properties as well. So basically self employed. What do we need to attach as proof as to where the money comes from?
I plan to use the emotional angle along with a strong application. Lost both parents in 3 years.

Thank you Amelia. My fashion design business was registered in 2019, I pay taxes, and it's functional. I also have a company account. Just that 90% of ny customers are abroad, so they pay through WU or my dom account which i opened just 2 yeara ago. The only thing I do not do is paying myself monthly. I have to start that. I told the lady I have over 7000 usd in my $ account which is true and she said since it's not in my corporate account for my business and it's not in naira, then I cannot explain it to them cos it's a red flag.

I will tell my husband to use employed. Cos even though he's a successor, and a director, and has shares, and a signatory to many accounts, he is not the CEO. His dad is. So it's better we use employed. We have payslips, we have all employment status and that's what we used for Canada. I on the other hand will use housewife, because of the complexity of having my miney in $.

Thank you so much! This is starting to sound easy. God bless you!

Number 1 is the case here, but we would still say employed because we said employed for Canada and provided supporting documents. I will provide my statement as well, I hope it won't be a red flag. I have naira and dollar. I'm thinking of providing only the naira, because the dollar will require explanation though it has more money than naira.

God bless you so much!

He is not the CEO. He's just a successor, shareholder, director etc. But we will use employed. And provide same documents we used for Canada as you said. Even when he was traveling as a kid, the same company covered the costs so they will check their system and see it tallys. Also, his dad travels to the UK twice a year and he just got back, he is still the functional CEO so we won't say anything that will contradict.

I will just follow the advice of doing exactly what I did for Canada, I believe they follow similar process.

God bless you so much!

I am filling out application for a 3 years plus baby who wants to travel with her mother to the UK for vacation.

Her mother has a visa.

How do I answer these questions for the baby?

- Do you have income or savings?
- How much money are you planning to spend on your visit to the UK

- What is the total amount of money you spend each month?

July is round the corner. You should have started this journey earlier. Hopefully, you have been your accounts in order.

I don't advise your use your Uncle or anyone else as a sponsor.

Sponsor yourself. Your Mum can also sponsor herself.

Your businesses will serve as your major ties to Nigeria. For you, your wife will be another tie to Nigeria.

Get all the documents relating to your businesses. Fill the online form carefully. Be honest. No lies. If you need help for a specific area in the form, let us know. You need to start now. As it is, you will be buying expensive tickets...

Good luck!

Good morning. Please house, is it a must to have tax clearance submitted while submitting documents? Please it’s urgent.
Thanks

Not compulsory. I haven't submitted tax clearance for a very long time. Your payslips will prove that you pay tax.
