Since the owners might not live there, they wouldn't mind using one bag of cement to create 100 blocks.

I feel bitter that the approval for this building was issued during Peter Obi Administration with due dalliance.

Obi was such a careless governor who never cared about his people.

was necessary test done, load bearing capacity of the soil and EIA reports. Was the structure designed by a STRUCTURAL engineer.
Building don't collapse on its own there factors responsible.

Now that you've mentioned Obi's name, this thread is complete.
You people never disappoint.
Let me go to thread where Tinubu fell inside pickup and check.
I'm sure you and your people will blame Obi for the fall as well.

The building is just being patriotic.

Arrest all the contractors and get an independent investigation team to carry out a full assessment of what led to the collapse!

The state government must ensure a full Implementation of the findings from investigation report!

Ensure that the companies culpable are not only closed down permanently but the contractors should be prosecuted and jailed!

The agencies of the state that are supposed to carry out monitoring teams to building to ensure the contractors abide by standards should be called for questioning!

In the nearest future, any building that does not go through the permit of the ministry of works in the state will be permanently sealed and the construction work pulled down until the right process is done!

This should be applicable in every state to avoid disasters like these!
Imagine if the construction had already been concluded and people were already occupying the buildings!

In the past 15-20 years almost every ongoing new building structure you see in Onitsha is assured to be a 5 storeys building and their have been zero collapse incidents until the past few months, I have seen more than 5 already meaning it’s is a growing trend that may be attributable to rising infiltration of fake building materials into the market. Soludo should reduce his gallivanting with big big grammar, work with structural engineers , inspectors in state ministry of works and focus on nipping this in the bud before it becomes a crisis

Maybe Soludo should start resuming at construction sites first in the morning before going to his office.

I'm almost certain that the contractor handling the building project is a quack!

The high rate of quackery in all the professions in the Southeast is alarming. We need to embrace professionalism in all fields of endeavor in Nigeria

From medical, engineering, Pharmaceutical and even legal. People in southeast just live anyhow kind of life mehn! Too bad for a people that claim to be wise and sophisticated!

The kind of drugs prescribed for my niece in one eastern Nigeria medical center in Enugu the other day was too bad! Thank goodness I was around to make the correction. That hospital has been running without qualified Pharmacists since and you can imagine how many people that might have died due to drug-related problems there!

Sorry I had to digress but I think this whole problem of building collapses all point to the same problem of quackery! We need to wake up in Igboland!
