The wisdom of ageism!
Let me tell you, dear sage, your notion that a 20-year-old cannot contribute meaningfully to parliament is a hilarious relic of a bygone era. Youth is not synonymous with ignorance. In fact, research suggests that younger brains are more adaptable, and more innovative. But hey, who needs science when we have your expertise, right?

You then went ahead with your nonsense assertion that a few years after a first degree, maybe, just maybe, someone might be worthy of a seat at the table is condescending, to say the least. Do you know what someone with a fresh perspective, unjaded by the cynicism of age, can bring to the table?

And please, spare me the "life experiences" talk. As if the only valid experiences are those accumulated by wrinkling one's face and graying one's hair. What about the experiences of a young adult, grappling with the challenges of their generation? Are those not valid or valuable enough?

This arbitrary age brackets are nothing more than a flimsy excuse to dismiss the potential of an entire generation. I'll have you know, some of the most impactful contributions to history were made by individuals in their 20s. Need I remind you of Alexander the Great, Mary Shelley, or Steve Jobs?

So, no, every sane person won't be swayed by your patronizing views on youth and leadership. The truth is, age is not a determinant of wisdom, and it's time you folk stopped perpetuating that myth.

All these "records" mean zilch.

At age 20, it's doubtful she can make any concrete contributions to the parliament.

25 years old, few years after first degree, maybe, but still not advisable.

30 - 40 years old is what i believe is the appropriate age for a youthful representative... tertiary education completed + some life experiences + young age (fresh perspectives)

First of all, which field of study gave you empirical evidence that Africans are inferior?

Please be as specific as possible.

O! Boy!
Forget all that Pan African trash.

African is inferior.
You can be emotional about it or accept reality.

See how white South Africans built a working country with solid foundation for them?

Nigerians it is time we start a program to attract White people from Germany, Australia, Norway, etc into Nigeria to become citizens.

If we are able to get 5 million pure European whites to become naturalized Nigerians, believe me things will begin to turn around for Nigeria in few years to come.

We can amend our constitution to reserve some key positions for their best. Positions like:

Chief Justice of Nigeria
Inspector General of Police
INEC Chairman
President of Court of Appeals
Chief of Army Staff
Commissioner of Police
Chief of Justice of States
CBN Governor
Minister of Finance
Vice Chancellors of key federal and state universities

Nigerian youths lack willpower to make the needed changes around the leaders of this country.
The betterment of Nigeria will start when this great lot is broken to smaller "peaces" then, maybe then will each of this "smaller Nigeria's" begin to take more decisive moves towards greatness.
In my humble opinion

What is the meaning of "inferior"? Who said Africans are inferior? This is where you blacks get it wrong.

I never said Africans are inferior.

In life, every human have his area of competitive advantage.

Some humans are good in high jump while others in long jump, another in football, others in weight lifting. Some are expert in boxing, others are in singing. While some are amazing dancers, etc, etc, that is how this works.

Glaring everyday evidences abound all over the world to prove that black people are not as gifted in certain areas of life as the white folks.

Blacks lack leadership skills when compared to whites. Yes some blacks may have exceptional leadership skills like the whites but it's not common among blacks, so we are looking at the majority, the dominant factor.

Whites are more gifted in science, technology and innovation than blacks. Remember, some blacks are also gifted in this area but they are few and not the majority when compared to whites.

I can go on and on, but we all know the truth that without white people, this world would have been unliveable for us, let's try and be honest and appreciate the truth.

Accepting your weakness is not a weakness but a greater form of intelligence and the number one step towards finding a working solution.

Knowing your weakness and refusing to accept it is one of the greatest form of foolishness and arrogance which can also be classified as senseless egocentrism.

Are blacks inferior to whites or any other race? NO! But white people do have some enviable traits we blacks lack and that is why they have been the race championing global innovation and advancement in virtually all fields of life, I cherish white people a lot.

I know I may still end up having a mixed breed child with a pure Caucasian woman, maybe because I so much love to whites for their innovation and advancement

Anyone who is disputing these solid points you raised is a mu.gu.

Na that panafricanism emotional trash feel like we can still govern ourselves despite we see how we have been unable to really govern ourselves and advance for years despite how we keep blaming the white people for our troubles.

Not necessarily true. There are several instances of young leaders elected and it doesn't mean the electorate is right.

Tinubu was elected by majority of Nigerians. Does that make them necessarily smart ?

WannaHowzit:
The upcoming seventh democratic Parliament of South Africa is set to feature a broader spectrum of age groups among its representatives, as well as the youngest Member of Parliament (MPs) in South Africa’s democratic history.

This comes as female representation shows a slight decrease compared to the previous administration.

All eyes are now focused on the forthcoming make-up of the 400-seat National Assembly (NA), who according to chairperson of the Electoral Commission (IEC) Mosotho Moepya “reflect the choices, hopes, and aspirations of millions of citizens who exercised their democratic rights.”

Moepya revealed that the NA can expect a slightly younger average Parliamentary fleet compared to that seen in the sixth administration, with members ranging from 20 to the eldest at 76.

According to information provided by the IEC, the youngest incoming parliamentarian is Patriotic Alliance youth activist Cleo Wilskut, who turned 20 on 27 April.

Wilskut will follow in the footsteps of the ANC’s Itumeleng Ntsube, who, at 21, previously became South Africa’s youngest MP in 2019.

Notably, these young political leaders are debuting in parliament as some of the highest-paid individuals in the country, with MPs now earning over 100,000 rands a month (8-million naira) following president Cyril Ramaphosa’s approval to hike salaries by 2.5%.

This makes all MPs—young and old—top 3% earners in the country.

Looking broadly at the seventh National Assembly’s composition compared to that of South Africa’s population, the 20 to 29 age demographic has the largest discrepancies in representation, sporting a 3% NA makeup when the cohort is nearly 18% of South Africa’s total population.

South Africa's new MPs will be sworn in on Friday, 14 June.

Talks to form a Government of National Unity continue since the ruling ANC failed to garner an outright majority in the May 29 general elections.

Actually, I quite agree with MartinCorridon....A few young people have tried something similar abroad...but majority of them end up being a disaster. politics unlike other fields is more of cunningness & manipulation.. Unfortunately young people in the early 20s & below are the easiet to manipulate. I believe the best YOUTHFUL representation is from the late 20s to 40s.
