While the achievement is commendable, 20 is too young an age. Like someone up there said, 30 - 40 years is ideal. She may not be taken seriously in that parliament.
for someone to win such a position is not by chance or luck, this girl is wise and intelligent, she may even had better ideas and impact more than the grey hairs, old age and gray hairs is not and will not symbolize wisdom and intelligence

I hope she will not be a waste of space! What intelligent contribution can a 20 year old make at that level ? Good luck to her.

I wish more black people could reason like this and stop blaming white people for their problems.

RussellRutherfo:

Anyone who is disputing these solid points you raised is a mu.gu.

Na that panafricanism emotional trash dey make feel like we see how we have been unable to really govern ourselves and advance for years despite how we keep blaming the white people for our troubles.

Congratulations to her...

My own focus is on the information below...

"Notably, these young political leaders are debuting in parliament as some of the highest-paid individuals in the country, with MPs now earning over 100,000 rands a month (8-million naira) following president Cyril Ramaphosa’s approval to hike salaries by 2.5%"

Elected political office holders are among the top 3% earners in SA....

Africa ..my Africa...

Dem swear for us across countries in this continent...no doubt!

And that's even considering our crazy dollar rate to naira fa. Our own guys despite not doing anything tangible for more than 50% of the year as they are always on recess on some shyt... Earn crazy sum of over 30 million naira monthly

Weak and flat response. A parliament should have different generations in it for different perspectives.

All these "records" mean zilch.

At age 20, it's doubtful she can make any concrete contributions to the parliament.

25 years old, few years after first degree, maybe, but still not advisable.

30 - 40 years old is what i believe is the appropriate age for a youthful representative... tertiary education completed + some life experiences + young age (fresh perspectives)

NOTE : my posts require a minimum level of intelligence. Please don't feel bad if you don't understand them, just accept the limitations of your IQ

She can make a difference if she has good advisers the most important would be her Immediate Family or Family Friends

Remember Queen Victoria was Queen of England at age 18

But she would have more success Listening to Parrots than any useless Woke Ideology

The Fear of God is most Powerful in leading People in the right direction too no matter how young they are

The wisdom of ageism!
Let me tell you, dear sage, your notion that a 20-year-old cannot contribute meaningfully to parliament is a hilarious relic of a bygone era. Youth is not synonymous with ignorance. In fact, research suggests that younger brains are more adaptable, and more innovative. But hey, who needs science when we have your expertise, right?

You then went ahead with your nonsense assertion that a few years after a first degree, maybe, just maybe, someone might be worthy of a seat at the table is condescending, to say the least. Do you know what someone with a fresh perspective, unjaded by the cynicism of age, can bring to the table?

And please, spare me the "life experiences" talk. As if the only valid experiences are those accumulated by wrinkling one's face and graying one's hair. What about the experiences of a young adult, grappling with the challenges of their generation? Are those not valid or valuable enough?

This arbitrary age brackets are nothing more than a flimsy excuse to dismiss the potential of an entire generation. I'll have you know, some of the most impactful contributions to history were made by individuals in their 20s. Need I remind you of Alexander the Great, Mary Shelley, or Steve Jobs?

So, no, every sane person won't be swayed by your patronizing views on youth and leadership. The truth is, age is not a determinant of wisdom, and it's time you folk stopped perpetuating that myth.
that means a 10 years old child or 120 years old granny can have it

Age is just a damn number! Gauss was solving complex math under 10 years of age, Alexander the Great had conquered most of the world by 29, Shakespeare had written most of his great works before 30, I have a list of over 20 American state legislators several of them under 20 that served in their parliaments, but you sit here, brain-washed through and through by gerentocracy. Continue aspiring for leaders that trip and fall when no one is pushing them, but allow the rest of the world that want to move on to make progress. And you are even talking about intelligent after making such an obtuse comment

It is "intelligence" *** thank you for proving my point about low IQs.

What fraction of the global populations did what Gauss did at 10 ? How many conquered the world like Alexander at 29 ?

Better to keep silent , than confirm evidence of stupidity. 🔇

See how white South Africans built a working country with solid foundation for them?

Nigerians it is time we start a program to attract White people from Germany, Australia, Norway, etc into Nigeria to become citizens.

If we are able to get 5 million pure European whites to become naturalized Nigerians, believe me things will begin to turn around for Nigeria in few years to come.

We can amend our constitution to reserve some key positions for their best. Positions like:

Chief Justice of Nigeria
Inspector General of Police
INEC Chairman
President of Court of Appeals
Chief of Army Staff
Commissioner of Police
Chief of Justice of States
CBN Governor
Minister of Finance
Vice Chancellors of key federal and state universities
Funny, sad, pathetic but true

When some yorubas and hausas find it difficult accepting igbos and some igbos hate hausas with a passion. Where Muslims hate christians and christians hate Muslims passionately, it is Europeans that you want to bring to be accepted by who? You want to accept non Nigerians when you struggle to embrace fellow Nigerians?

Please be as specific as possible.
lol. Pls can you name any black African country, that is doing fine and have a working system comparable to the white Europeans ?
you guys should stop living in delusions, rather accept the reality and seek for solutions.
African nations have despicable leaders and gullible citizens/followers.
Seeking for mentorship from those who know the way is never a symbol of inferiority complex.
even most of these nations you ignorantly mentioned benefitted much from the technological transfer from the European nations and USA .

Lolzzzzzzzz you are funny o, kuku tell the white to come and recolonize us officially

I believe we got our independence too early, hence our inability to make a giant strides in our national development.

Nigeria was just 5years and 3 months without any significant developments when we had our first military coup, followed by a needless civil war. The rest since then refused to be a history in our daily life.

The independence was obviously a fraud, yet we have not done anything concretely serious to help our national destiny, except scavenging for airdrops from the whites.

Yes agreed. But even then, why do most international organisations insist on experience for leadership?.

Google Valentine Strasser. A 21 year old who became Head of State of Sierra Leone.

To feed ourselves is a big problem to us in Africa despite having good arable and enviable land for faming.
We are blessed with a fairer weather conditions devoid of natural disasters, yet we refused to take advantage of our blessing and make the lives of the citizens better.

To be honest, we need to go through another 200years of colonization in Africa before we can effectively make a significant progress in black nations.

USA did it via DV Visa Lottery and it's one of the reasons they are the greatest country on earth.

Canada is doing it via Express Entry and other high skilled migrant programs.

Many great countries did it but here is a black man thinking foolishly that he can do all even when he knows his weakness.

Nigeria can rejig our own to suit our need and to close some lapses.

Take it or leave it, White Europeans are confirmed agents of development.

If Nigeria had a sizeable population of White European citizens as naturalized Nigerian citizens up to like 5 million, they will never allow Nigeria to deteriorate to the level it is now. Their White brothers in Europe and other continents will be helping them with favorable policies that will make Nigeria work.

Because of white South Africans, White people allow certain things to operate in South Africa while other black African countries are blocked.

The reason they don't accept North African whites much is their Islamic religion; they see them as Arabs and not Whites, and only South Africa have the real European Caucasian whites in the whole of Africa and that is why South Africa is growing in all fields
As far as I'm concerned, the visa lottery has been a disaster for the US. Yes, some quality individuals made it to the US through the lottery but all in all, more people with far.less quality have been admitted.
For example, when I first went to the US I. Mid 80's the quality of Nigerians that were there were .ore educated and contributed more to the US than those that came via the lottery.
I can tell you now that a lot of those Nigerians that came via the lottery are I to church business, hair waving, mechanics, and other very minimal economic contributions.
The previous ones were mostly Engineers, Doctors, smart and educated Nigerians.
Now it's one semi educated immigrant that will bring over another 10 family members in another 5 years while trying to gain the system with very small tax contributions.
The quality has really gone way down. That's one of the reasons why Trump still has a chance despite all the criminal charges.

Don't mind them. It's never about age, nor gender.

I have seen super young appointees who did nothing. Seen gender-balance appointees who did nothing.

An example is Nigeria. People think " elect a young person" and ALL Nigeria's problems will magically disappear. What happened with Yahhya Bello ?

That's a really stupid point of view, and that's me being polite.

There's a reason why most international organisations put " EXPERIENCE" as a very important yardstick for leadership appointments.

If I still have to explain that the importance of experience in a parliamentary position.... shows how low some folks IQs are.

But yahaya was 40something when he became governor lol.
What about the ancestors like buhari buhari that ruled and Brought calamity upon Nigerians. What about Tinubu now ? Lol
