Bunch of clowns (both Federal Government and Labor).

The Federal Government hires less than 30% of the entire work force and I am sure States might suffer the impact of a very high minimum wage more; however, the highest chunk of workers are in the private sector and the minimum wage unfortunately in Nigeria does not translate to this sector. This is because the government does not enforce the minimum wage efficiently due to their inefficiencies and the difficult business environment in Nigeria for the private sector.
I fear Oo

Any body supporting this statement made by this Minister is mischievous. He can walk in the shoes of his predecessor.
What happened to the savings they got from the removal of subsidy?
Why don't the government offer certain services to certain categories of the civil servants and pay them what that meagre amount they want and let's see how long the government can render such services!!!

I was thinking the same. If FG increase it to 90k, 100k or more, many workers will lost their job.

My sympathy is with those working in the private sector. Which is way crazier than the public sector.

Why not give a thought to the un-employed?

The are far vulnerable if you ask me.

You can not pay workers but you can spend N90 billion on religious pilgrimage…. You can increase budget allocations for political office holders….

You cannot pay a worker from nothing. If your income cannot pay workers, it cannot pay. If it didn’t dey it didn’t dey!

See them. Reduce the money you pay national assembly members, reduce the political appointments you make, and reduce executive salaries across the states and see how much we will save.

Reduce the corruption in CBN, FIRS and NNPC and see how much we can save.

5he simple truth is that l, we can pay any amount but we have to curb excesses

There's no money anywhere in nigeria.

The only source of income is oil . Nothing more.

The only way to generate money is building companies and making already made ones functioning. But why can't them function?

Why can't ph refinery work?
Why can't ajokuta steel work
Why can't textile industry work.
Why can't indigenous people doing bunkers be supported with good equipment and be put under product control?

The answer is . NIGERIA IS A BUSINESS FEILD OF BRITISH.

YOUR REFINERY CANT WORK BECAUSE BRITISH WILL STOP SELLING REFINED PRODUCT TO YOU.

EVEN IF PETER OBI BECOMES PRESIDENT. IT WONT STILL CHANGE ANYTHING.

NIGERIAN ARE STILL SLAVE
you are right bro.

As expected. NLC does not have the teeth to bite. Workers are at the mercy of FG. Caging labour with this threat will only lead to more resentment of the government at various levels, which may ultimately lead to something else if the economy remains oppressive

Do not mock aged person. Old age is a blessing.
But President Tinubu, you must understand one thing: Nnamdi Kalu has overstayed in detention for whatever offense he committed against anybody living or dead. He is aged also. [b]Please free Nnamdi Kalu from detention.[ Power when over-wielded invites a backlash.

But increasing the salaries of lawmakers and judges won't cause job losses

Using 20 billion to renovate the VP residence won't cause harm to the economy

Using 90 billion to subsidise the Hajj prigrim won't affect the economy.

Governors have seen increased budgetary allocation to states but yet many of them are complaining about paying N30,000 minimum wage.

Our Governments are so insensitive to the plight if the workers.

I totally agree with you all those supporting starvation salary are either paid government supporters like Omokri or Bwala. Who will soon fade away.

Pay them mors then fire 50 percent of the civil servants. They don't really do much anyway.
Civil service is over bloated, pay a little more then fire at least 50 percent.

Yeah im paid too. Anyone that has a contrary opinion is paid.
Most of you people with this mentality must be up for sale. That's the only reason why you will think people are paid to have an opinion.

Private sector are not mandated to pay the same wage as government as business owners negotiate directly with workers…. If all governors are able to pay themselves a harmonized humongous wage package then they have no reason not to pay a fair minimum wage in their states….

Before there will be job loss among workers, you ministers will first go, follow by senators and other political appointees, then 21 billion naira vp house sold, all suvs of National Assembly members sold, 17 trillion Lagos-Calabar road project suspended until due process followed and outrageous price reduced, these are conditions that can allow workers to be affected.
