Tesla auto-drive can never work in Nigeria. We are still too backward and disorganised in our development.

grin grin grin

Perhaps he is talking about Nigerien Niger, not Nigeria.

Sane People knows Nigeria is a backward place.

Cannot work in Nigeria because people do not follow the rules of driving. Self driving cars are programmed with the rules of driving.

It has been a big challenge even here in the U.S. These driverless taxi's have caused a lot of accidents.

Can the Tesla Self-Driving work well on the Nigerian roads?

I’ve been testing the Tesla Self-Driving software here in Las Vegas, Nevada for sometime now and I made a video about my experience. You can see the video below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nw9MRg1vNg

The software did a good job, but it was not perfect, it missed the ramp to get on the freeway, but it was smart enough to reroute itself and join the freeway using another ramp.

The roads here are better organized than those in Nigeria, but I’d love to hear what you guys think about self-driving cars in Nigeria.

When will self-driving car full Naija?

I know the road in the video very well, that is East Sunset right behind the airport.

As for self driving, I am not sure how comfortable I am with that right now. Maybe as the software keeps getting updated, it will get to the point where I am comfortable cruising in such vehicles.

Not upto 10% of accidents caused by human drivers!

Eventually, they'd perfect the technology and it'd reduce accidents by 98%

How's it going @Naijamanyoutube?

There are a few Teslas in Nigeria though. With more advanced motion sensors, even in near-chaotic road situations, self-driving cars can be fully used in places such as Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, etc, just like we have self-driving taxis in San Francisco.

There are 9.1 crashes in driverless vehicles per million vehicle miles driven, while there are 4.2 crashes in conventional vehicles per million miles driven.

It depends. Some corporations might just cash out until it eventually gets banned.

For instance, so many EV car manufacturers have made their money and they have stopped production. Those who bought their cars will drive it till the battery packs off, and thats the end.

These crashes involving 'driverless' cars, were there no drivers inside?

EV cars have come to stay. Gasoline would die out like steam locomotive and coal. Once 1000 miles batteries are achived that can charge quickly and comparatively cheap, its game over

Elon musk is a rash and braggadocious person I don’t trust any of his new technology until they’ve been extra extra tried and tested. The original versions of the tesla that he didn’t develop but took over have been okay. until he came in is running the company into the ground. Pushing problematic new vehicles that aren’t ready for the road just so his name can be more and more out there.

Don’t believe me, research what’s going on with his new cyber trucks.
