Pair him with Onyedika or you pair Onyedika with Onyeka. Ndidi should go to the bench.

BREAKING!!!

Finidi George In or Out?

The Executive Committee of Nigeria Football Federation held a meeting on Wednesday, 12th June 2024 in hybrid mode to deliberate on important issues in Nigeria Football and resolved as follows:

1) The Executive Committee wholeheartedly apologized to Nigerians for the dismal output and subsequent very poor returns of the Senior Men National Team, Super Eagles, in four out of 10 matches in the ongoing qualification series for the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals, and pledged to work assiduously and put necessary measures in place to ensure a better-prepared squad ahead of the AFCON 2025 qualifiers in September this year and the resumption of the World Cup qualifiers in March 2025.

2) Further to (1) above, the Executive Committee resolved to employ an expatriate Technical Adviser for the Super Eagles in the coming weeks, ahead of the AFCON qualifiers and the remaining FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.

4) Notwithstanding the challenges that attended the team’s preparations for the Day 3 and Day 4 games of the FIFA World Cup qualifying matches, owing to a 38-hour nationwide industrial action, the Board expressed displeasure with the poor attitude of some of the players to the National Assignment, and unanimously decided in favour of a more robust scouting programme of outstanding Nigeria-eligible players from across the four corners of the universe, who can add tremendous value to the nation’s flagship team.

I hope these "technocrats" at NFF understand that not every assistant coach morphs into a sound head coach. Any local coach hoping to coach the eagles should cut his teeth first as a head coach.

Frankly, sentiments aside, Amuneke was a better pick cos of his experience as a head coach. Sad seeing Finidi learn on the job to the detriment of the int'l careers of these players.

It's too late to appoint a new coach. They should have given Amunike the job but favoritism didn't let them. Before another Nigerian will coach the Super Eagles it will take dismissals of 5 foreign coaches

Finidi was not the right standard to use to measure the capacity of our local coaches. He was not prepared

How long will it take nff to throw out finidi?
I know you are here as a member of nff reading comments
Are you waiting till few weeks before the next match before bringing in a new coach?
Trying to set him up for failure?

Thanks for your prompt action

You forgot Siasia succeeded Lagerback and failed to qualify us for 2012 AFCON.
It does not matter whether he failed to qualify us for AFCON or not,he is a good coach, his team plays good football and typical Nigerian kind of robust football with grit and determination.

How many matches was Siasia in charge as a SE coach?
If Siasia had lasted at least 4 years, he would have succeeded.

NFF on Super Eagles players attitude:

What is happening here?

The NFF Board expressed displeasure with the poor attitude of some of the players to the National Assignment, and unanimously decided in favour of a more robust scouting programme of outstanding Nigeria-eligible players from across the four corners of the universe, who can add tremendous value to the nation’s flagship team.

Torino joins Inter Milan in race for Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye

According to mondoudinese, Torino are interested in signing Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye who has been linked previously with Serie A champions Inter Milan.

The Turin-based side are preparing for the possible departure of Vanja Milinković-Savić who was once on the books of Manchester United and have identified Okoye as a possible replacement.

The 24-year-old returned to his brilliant best last season with Udinese, helping the the Bianconeri maintain their Serie A status with a series of brilliant performances in goal.

Let it b a coach that knows what he is doing to avoid going in circles

Rohr,Peseiro or any other foreign coaches wouldn't have called up all those jokers that Finidi invited in place of better defenders in Europe,at least.
Not that is a garantee that foreign coaches will give us success but local coaches are less trust worthy especially when it comes to corruption.

Siasia is my most preferred local coach, with five years contract,Siasia will give us at least one AFCON.

Rohr called a club less Musa.

The NFF never wanted Amunike. They know Amunike's capacity and know he will do well if given the opportunity. They don't want it. They are more interested in the business that comes with a foreign coach.

It’s looking more like a premeditated move, more like employing finidi knowing fully well dt he might mess up to create a back strong claims for foreign coach .

We won't miss him. Guy started making us miss Jpes and even Rohr of those 1game in hand days.

I just don't trust this NFF and sport ministry. They dunno how to rake funds to even be independent and all the outlets are idle around them. Smh.

Also, what can one imagine without an Odegbami involved in affairs? I want to see how it's like really.

The Angola coach is my preferred but to move him now is such a task

Another frightening imagination for those shouting Amunike- what if it is same outcome? What if?

I see it as a foolish game to convince the Sports Ministry of sorts. More like they want foreign but have to jeopardize everything because they want to prove a point because lots of permutations are out of their reach like monthly salary. Smh. Clowns

We have at least 3 defenders in Europe Finidi should have invited instead of Taminu and co.

These players u have mentioned with this current super eagles team,
in comparison to our previous teams that is made up of only players born in Nigeria (Tunisia '94 team,2002 silver winning team and 2013 AFCON winning team)
Which team would u say is more formidable and play better football.
This team or the previous teams.

I'm in no way against integration of any foreign born that shows desire and ready to play for us.

Desire is a very perceptive led deduction not an objective one, so l will not even talk about it.

I don't think you want to compare two different generations of football, it's too problematic.

What l will say is our players in 1994 , were on top of the game playing in the top teams of Europe. We had Amunike and one Gbenga who both played for Barcelona.

Ajax was a European football ⚽ powerhouse then and we had several players that went through Ajax.

Now just like almost everything else in Nigeria we have regressed badly.

Someone that could not qualify the under 20 will do worse

To hell with all this clamour for indigenous coaches

This indigenous coaches can get a national team job in small countries like Liberia so why gamble with them with the super eagles job?

The super eagles is not a post for mediocre or average coaches

Captain or no Captain, Musa was clubless and had no reason being invited. That is far worse than inviting Taminu. At least Taminu was not clubless and why should a player without a club remain captain?

This one and Finidi dun use super eagles cash out. grin grin

That's the plan whenever you hear them clamour for invitation of home based players to market them to obscure leagues and then start another round of invitee

The indigenous coaches are good in this. To them the cuts and kick backs worth more than their coaching ambition

Give Amunike his chance and let his results make the decision. Not what if. The fact is that the NFF knows he is good and they are ready to appoint any local coach aside him.

Here you have the 1994 set all hovering around the super eagles Job as if it is their last breath

They should go prove themselves outside like keshi before they can be considered for super eagles job

Prove himself like keshi and then he'll get the super eagles job with so much respect
