I see some of them on WhatsApp complaining of hardship, inflation and how expensive things are ; but somehow they still maintain Steeze and refuse to link the hardship to the policies of the government .

I noticed jagaban was conspicuously missing among those you listed, did he succeed? Did Fashola fail? His excellency Peter Obi delivered on his campaign promise of education and health and the impact is undeniable today in Anambra. Go and verify.

You can't tell me since you were born, you haven't experienced good governance for once. At least I can speak for myself as a young guy, Obasanjo's 8yrs was not bad at all was it? Seeing what was endured under the brutal military regime. Yaradua's brief cameo wasn't bad either. Goodluck fumbled but nobody ever dreamed of this level of bad.

Everything took a downward spiral when this evil APC you support and defend entered power. That is by far the biggest mistake Nigeria made as a nation. The PTSD will ever be fresh. The rest is history.

As for the cabal, the reputation is in the name. Whether you believe in Illuminati or not is not my concern. Your belief or lack of it doesn't invalidate their existence. For example, during Buhari’s tenure, everyone in this nation knew about the cabal running the affairs of government at the villa, it was an open secret yet no one could point out exactly who these cabal were but their power and influence was undeniable.

Tinubu never shared his plans for Nigeria, he never debated. APC hid him from the media like Buhari. At Chatham house he delegated questions thrown at him to others to answer. He consistently misyarned at rallies. He openly mocked and made joke of data. Openly licked the microphone on camera when told to test the mic. He was never intellectually engaged or challenged. His team hurded him like palliative to avoid gaffes. Na this kind person wan save Nigeria?

So when you say there's no plan to save Nigeria, it's not a surprise at all. That's very true with APC. We've seen what they can do, Nigeria is worse than ever before. But Peter Obi and others are coming.

I have never experienced what is called good governance in Nigeria and There has not been any state that has experienced what is called good governance

Ask people in Lagos if Fashola failed or not, compared to the other failures all over Nigeria he looked better but overall a student that scored 60% is a genus when the average class grade is 30%
The only state that has some slight form of anything resembling good governance is still Lagos.

I am not trying to point fingers at individuals but to show you that the problem is beyond one person. The Shehu Sanni that is speaking and we are clapping for today, when he was in power what did he do? How many of these laudable programs did he implement in Kaduna.

I don't want to bash Peter Obi or any politician in particular but you claiming Peter Obi did well is a lie, we saw threads of people living in Anambra during Peter Obis regime and they complained bitterly. We celebrate mediocrity and claim they are trying or because their politics align with ours we whitewash them in public. Obi did 8good years in Anambra, what is good about Anambra today that makes it any better than the next state?
Obi didn't lick mic, he didn't avoid debate, he didn't misyarn at rallies, he didn't delegate questions at Chatham, what did he achieve in 8yrs at Anambra?

We saw how some Obi supporters here were ready to drag his performance as governor, Actually Obi was the worst of all the top candidates in the last election in terms of performance in executive office

They have been talking about cabal since I was born, 60% people alive the day I was born would have died now yet we are still talking about cabal. When we dont have solutions we blame an unseen force or cabal

Under OBJ there was claim of a cabal, same with under Yar Adua, Jonathan Buhari, Soon Tinubu will get his own cabal too

The same reason Obi didn't perform was the same reason people who did well in private lives and careers didn't do well in govt. Its not because of any cabal or which cabal stopped Obi from maximizing the potentials of Anambra

Since 1999, Every state has had at least 4 governors, that is 36 times 4. equals 144. How many of those 144 can you say did well. If 144 randomly picked successful Nigerians can rule and were mediocre at best(We never count thousands of Senators and HoR in that time). Then maybe the problem is beyond them

Peter Obi can best be described as a curse and bad omen to Anambarians.

When would his tenure evem expire?Oh jees, what a wicked, visionless man.

SamMiilla1:
Coincidentally, i asked myself the same question while driving back from Enugu to Onitsha this afternoon, 'what exactly is peter obi doing in anambra state'. I always divert at abba junction on my way from enugu and drove through a smooth single lane road constructed by ngige all the way nkpor and then down to obosi and awada where i stay. All the good roads in the whole state were constructed by ngige before they court-pulled him down and installed a greedy business man. Now his grand beer and malt are booming. While his state is deoriating.

joeeyfire:
Anambra state is suffering because Peter Obi is busy with his day job as GEJ's Personal Assistant. Despite his boy -boy work in abuja, he has not been able to attract anything meaningful to the state from the centre. Anambra has suffered terrible, corrupt, clueless and backward leadership since back when. Besides the brief spark of Ngige there's been nobody else to write home about. From Mbadinuju, Andy Ubah to Peter Obi. I am hearing that the next person who will likely take over is Ifeanyi Uba of Capital Oil cry cry. We don suffer o!

PROUDDDIGBO:

We have not been too bright (putting it mildly) in electing Sons/Daughters into public office that have the vision, zeal and mental capacity to take their respective constituencies to a higher enviable level. Of the five states in the South East, i can honestly say (and i'm entitled to my opinion) that i have a positive feeling for the state leadership in only two (Imo and Enugu), and i'm sure any nuetral observer will agree with me. The rest states just seem to have clueless gov'ts that haven't got the faintest idea how to manage and bring out the best in their people/resources. They seem to have no vision on where to take their states and it seems they ran for office just to be called 'Your Excellency'.

.

chuksiikem:
Was in awka some days back ,its really shameful, my heart bleeds for my state, from amansea to awka is still the same, pothole riddled roads,non-functioning street lights, refuse littering the entire state capital from arroma junction down to Ziks avenue, ,arthur eze, unizik junction, court road, udoka housing estate etc are still the same, no changes at all, the state capital still looks like a glorified village, angry

Civil servants and pensioners are been owed 3MONTHS salary, so many abandoned projects yet the woman sounding governor is always in abuja 24/7.

Please peter obi's handlers on nl should please enlighten us, angry angry

The bold is a very moot point which is invalidated by the spate of bank robberies in Nigeria in recent times . Since around 2014 to this year, we’ve seen a pattern of robbery incidents whereby armed robbers (despite knowing how banks are well guarded) carry out large scale bank robberies .

They literally lit up the nearest police police stations which are well guarded with armed officers, then proceed to sack various banks with heavy shelling. At least this has happened in Kogi state multiple times , Ekiti state multiple times, Benue state , Offa Kwara state, etc to mention a few .

The robbers are aware of the level of resistance that the security agents in the banks and even the first responders can pose and they plan well ahead for it.

That should tell u that u having a gun to fight back won’t stop the criminal , but it will only make him more vicious in his attacks . One of my bosses used to say “ U can’t predict the mind of a criminal “. U can’t sit down as a law abiding citizen and start saying maybe if u do this( like carrying a gun on u) , the criminal will not attack u.

I just tire!

Something wey dey clear

This so so funny man. So in your mind you think a page of a nairaland thread probably created by disgruntled opposition back then is enough to discredit the solid, tangible groundwork Obi did in Anambra. No wonder agbodo boys think they've made it in life when they digged up that page. There's a reason that thread didn't make it pass the 2 page then.

Education, Healthcare, anti-corruption, prudence was Obi's major campaign promise and ending godfatherism for good in that state. He delivered 100% on these areas and confirmed by the people who overwhelmingly voted him again not some few monikers on nairaland.

Anambra rose from 26th to 1st in WAEC/NECO performance in Nigeria under his administration. Till today Anambra is still at the top. He renovated more than 500 schools across the state, procured and distributed above 30,000 computers and laptops to secondary schools in the state. Obi's government provided Microsoft Academies to more than 500 secondary schools with Internet access to these schools. Also more than 700 buses were provided to secondary schools in the state by his administration.

His Administration conceived and built, from scratch, the first state-owned Teaching Hospital, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu teaching Hospital, Awka. His government also built the Joseph Nwilo Heart Centre in St. Joseph, Adazi-Nnukwu, where heart operations are carried out.

By the end of his tenure in 2014, more than 12 health institutions, including two hospitals, had secured accreditation as at zero accreditation when he came into power.

On financial prudence, Anambra was the first state to commence Sub-Sovereign Wealth savings, the first of its kind in Sub-Saharan Africa. He moved Anambra from serious debt to zero debt in no time.

The Nigerian Debt Management Office (DMO) rated Anambra as the least indebted state in Nigeria. In spite of visible and measurable achievements recorded in various sectors, the State under him did not borrow or raise bonds for her various projects. This made the Nigerian Senate at the time to rank Anambra State as the most financially stable state in the country. At the end of his tenure, he left 75billion in the government coffers for his successor. This one alone is enough for any sensible person cos no Nigerian politician saves money, they rather borrow and leave the mess for the next.

Anambra has the best road network in the SE, Ngige started it, he consolidated it. He built from scratch the first Secretariat Complex to house State Government Ministries that were scattered across the State.

Now among the top aspirants, Tinubu was the least qualified in real time. In fact in a sane system, the certificate forger would be disqualified and arrested for fraud, identify theft, lack of traceable background and history [maybe he's from Pluto] lying under oath, graduating from a school before it was founded and dealing with narcotics.

These baggages aside, he's too cooked to know Nigeria's problem talk more of solving them. No one among the candidates know Nigeria in the fingertips like Obi with accurate data to back up every word. Sound mind with a sound body not a bulaba brain with a shaking body. The less said about Atiku the better cos aside being VP for 8 years and perennially contesting, I don't see what he's done to even stand out. Maybe his name.

which kain person we never get ruling in Nigeria and what has changed? How come all these brilliant and successful people in their careers failed spectacularly in turning the fortunes of their states around

The problem has been since I was born, I am over 40 and I too will claim a cabal somewhere, everyone will claim a cabal somewhere but no one will point to the cabal

There is nothing anyone Obi Tinubu Atiku Obama can do to save this country, the best they can do is band aid it for some time and hope the next administration faces the fallout later whine us with sweet words

I finally understand why you zealously support Asiwaju.
I found it perplexing that you'd justify anything floated by his administration.

Which points to something the reality of governance is different and why all the brilliant succesful mind failed

I listened to Soludo speech recently a tier 1 expert and I could deduce that was is needed for the country to develop cannot be realistically done which is why everyone has failed and at best push it to the next person

We all know how those wishing Obi died in a plane crash suddenly became Obis main propagandists and hype man

How Rochas went from being the best governor compared to Faahola to the worst governor when he joined APC and his politics were not aligned

Went from how Obi was the worst governor in the SE to the best ever when the politics aligned

How Ngige went from standard of good governance to mediocre when he left PDP and his politics no longer aligned

I posit that if Otti should join APC he will miraculously flip from performer to terrible governor
