Nailly: Have you included areas covered by water? And by the way, why is Bayelsa so underdeveloped, with all the resources? Can you compare Bayelsa with any of the eastern states? Certainly, with all the resources, Bayelsa should be among the finest states. The pictures shown are not convincing enough. Show us pictures of popular areas in Yenogoa please. |

Unbiased1: Nailly: Nailly:Bayelsa is actually a very tiny state and has no business being undeveloped given the sheer size of revenue it receives. Size of a state isnt measured by just looking at its size on a map. The question is, how much of that map size is habitable by humans? How much of that map size is land on which cities can be built? There's a reason Bayelsa has only 8 local governments despite its size on the map. That's the smallest for any state in Nigeria. Almost 90% of Bayelsa's map size is inhabitable mangrove swamps and rivers. Developing Bayelsa should be one of the easiest in Nigeria considering that there're just 2 main cities which are relatively small. Unfortunately, Bayelsa has had some of the worst leaders in Nigeria since creation. 4 Likes |

Nailly:you left the main koko of the matter to talk about size. Does Yenagoa for example look like a state capital of an oil producing state properly utilizing it's resources considering income from FAC and 13% derivation ? Taking drone shots will always portray a beautiful landscape BUT even 100 level geography students will tell you there's a major developmental and infrastructure deficit in the state. All our politicians are culpable and should never even be celebrated. I love my state, I visit my village regularly but we must tell ourselves the truth. Bayelsa is vastly underdeveloped. Before you abuse me, I am a traveller involved in construction and well grounded in finance and economics so I know what I'm talking about. The pictures you posted shows a rustic but beautiful State with potential but it doesn't say the main story of wasted opportunities for the last 25 years so forget about size and let's focus on the flag. Paystack: I don't know where people got this idea that the apprenticeship system started after the war. The apprenticeship system has always existed among Igbos. It has Jewish origin. Jews that came to Igboland came with it. Long before Nigeria's independence, black smiths practiced apprenticeship system. When the British introduced carpentry, carpenters practiced apprenticeship system. Traders practiced apprenticeship system long before Nigeria's independence. |

Paystack:I disagree with you on agriculture in the north. North produces 70% of food we consume in the country. Why are we having price of food been skyrocketed, it is because bandits distrupt farming activities. The farmer could not go to farm. Bandits demand for money from farmers. Mind you as north has higher number of poor people so also they have richest man in africa 1 Like 1 Share |

Nigerians you people are funny and extremely shallow and backward. See the mess in the CS.....youth hyping mediocrity in the name of tribalism. When will yall realize that no part of Nigeria is developed.... Not Lagos, not anywhere. That is why someone with a functional brain will suspend common sense and support a known failure and criminal just because he’s his tribesman. Oga no one gets out of this shithole alive Y'all should wake up and wise up... The world has left us donkey years behind. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

Check GDP of all state in nigeria and come back. Despite allocation of bayelsa states still education disadvantage state. With type of allocation coming to states bayelsa should be competing with lagos but dumb asshole like you is the states not developed. Unbiased1: 2 Likes |

Omoboricash: This is Oyo state on the map...more than 90% of it is uninhabited. Ibadan is just endless clusters of brown roof houses built in the 80s, the few developed places in Ibadan isn't even upto 5% of the entire city. Airport is one of the attributes of a developed city/state...I haven't seen any city in the world without a standard airport, Ibadan airport is an eyesore 3 Likes

Who told you Bayelsa is a small state, do you know that 70% of the state is in riverine's side. The picture displayed here is just part of the capital city Yenagoa not even the entire LGA even so don't stay there and say what you don't know. You can talk about the slow pace of development but don't talk about it's size. SoNature: |

OredoPikin: Bro take it easy in disinforming the public, I lived in Bayelsa for more than 4yrs before relocating to LAGOS, if you include the water bodies you are right if not, Bayelsa is the smallest state in Nigeria, most places are sand filled even the almighty yenagoa, then the rest is a swampy area. i have lived in 5 different local governments, and during rainy seasons many people are stranded. Let advocate that the government should wake up and do what is necessary, the current government is not doing much to change the situation, the hunger in that land is much, and we are all keeping silent about it. The people in that state are great but they are unlucky to have unserious leaders, I pray that one day that state will turn around and be the tourist headquarters of Nigeria.... I will always advocate for a better nigeria but we have to call a spade a spade |
