Oga, rest.

Another calamity waiting to happen indeed. Finidi whom you recommended turned out to be the actual calamity.

Just rest. You are just miss, miss, miss on this topic.

Doc. Just tell amunike to try get a coaching job in one of this small Africa countries and do exceptional well like keshi did and kwesi appiah is currently doing with Sudan...I assure u Nigerians will even sing his praise and he will get the nff job on a platter but for now he is not good enough

Finidi give us a vivid picture of what to expect with the 1994 set of the super eagles save from Siasia they're all mediocre coaches

Never wanted finidi
Amongst all indigenous coaches

Egbu the former Albanian champions coach was my pick and Torrent was my pick amongst the foreign coaches

I was okay with finidi appointment over amunike because that one is not only average like finidi but also arrogant and stubborn

https://www.transfermarkt.com/domenec-torrent/erfolge/trainer/16400
I also prefer torrent
Any manager below his achievements is not suitable for Nigeria

Amunike would've even done worse compare to finidi

Amunike may be better qualified but there is no guarantee whatsoever that he would perform well.
He was in that coaching team for the Ghana double header and we saw how everything turned out. Enough with the Amunike agenda.

Never ,with a good coach and good team selection we shld be able to defeat

Rwanda 🇷🇼 (home and away) 6points

Benin 🇧🇯 at uyo (3points)

Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 at uyo (3points)

And Lesotho 🇱🇸 at a neutral venue (3points)

South Africa 🇿🇦 (we shld aim for a win also, but realistically this match might end up in a score draw)

So I am expecting 16points from d so called technocrats

If we can’t beat dis teams…we don’t deserve to be in World Cup , and we shld be considered as minnows in Africa 😎
See as your mouth sweet. I don't see us winning more than 3-4 out of 6 remaining games.

The job is bigger than him jare. He thought he could do it. We also thought he could do it but it's obvious that he can't.

✋🏼 Italy manager Luciano Spalletti has decided five very strict rules to his squad 🤯🇮🇹

❌⏰ NO chance to be late at meetings.
❌📱 NO phones allowed during lunch or dinner.
❌🎧 NO headphones allowed, so no to isolation.
❌🤹🏼‍♂️ NO to excessive jokes between teammates.
❌🕹️ NO PlayStation in each room, only all together.

I hope these "technocrats" at NFF understand that not every assistant coach morphs into a sound head coach. Any local coach hoping to coach the eagles should cut his teeth first as a head coach.

Frankly, sentiments aside, Amuneke was a better pick cos of his experience as a head coach. Sad seeing Finidi learn on the job to the detriment of the int'l careers of these players.
Na lie. It's all theory. Amunike is probably a better pick. Don't say he's certainly a better pick. You can only say he's a better pick when he gets there and performs.

No more theories based on potential and past records. The man who gets in the saddle and rides the horse to destination is the better pick. A man is not the better pick because the man who was picked failed. No!

De la Fuente is growing with the Spanish team. From the U18, to U20 to U23, then the National team. He is learning on the job.

No need arguing. We have done Rohr, Eguavoen, Peseiro, now Finidi. Anything but Amunike. No stress.

I will be here after Antonio Conceicao.

Finito.
Why don't we go for Harve Rnard or that Angola Afcon coach?

The NFF never wanted Amunike. They know Amunike's capacity and know he will do well if given the opportunity. They don't want it. They are more interested in the business that comes with a foreign coach.
Theory theory theory. This mentality that the alternative is better is false. Until Amunike becomes SE coach and does well, it is all just conjecture to say he will do well. Be humble in putting out your theories.

That's how we thought Siasia could do it. As a SE coach, he couldn't. We thought Oliseh could do it. He couldn't. We thought Finidi could do it. He couldn't.

No more theories.

Don't worry yourself, he has taken the job. It was about forcing the Sports Ministry to bring out money for a foreign coach.

That is why they always kick against Amunike.
I'll maintain my stance even if it is a little difficult

But he CAN'T WIN us 5/6 of the games. Fact!! This is not to hype any foreign manager. But it rather highlights why foreign managers are chased aside the greedy intentions of those leading our sports.

We won't miss him. Guy started making us miss Jpes and even Rohr of those 1game in hand days.

I just don't trust this NFF and sport ministry. They dunno how to rake funds to even be independent and all the outlets are idle around them. Smh.

Also, what can one imagine without an Odegbami involved in affairs? I want to see how it's like really.

The Angola coach is my preferred but to move him now is such a task

Another frightening imagination for those shouting Amunike- what if it is same outcome? What if?
They speak with utmost certainty as if they are God. Like you said: what if? Or on the flip side: What if not?

Amunike may or may not succeed. It is until he gets there and performs or fails that we will know. No more theories.

Measures like this particularly in sports doesn't guarantee that you win. But it helps to significantly increase your chances of winning. They aren't strict rules in themselves, they are measures to keep the team disciplined, focused, dialed in and cut off distractions. Every great coach has something like this. Osimhen alluded to Spalleti doing something similar with them. Sir Alex also had his own version.

These nff guys need to grow up or get out.

This mentality that every Nigerian Assistant will suddenly be great head coach is wack

You understudy for a few years
You further coaching license and modify what you understudy
You experiment with a club and eyes will see and hype that you indeed have a pattern/philosophy
You take up small country jobs to test your mental strength under pressure and difficult situations
You brush up your press conference skills and PR

People will do the rest when the time comes

All of these skipped NFF in their 100s of hours of deliberation because Greed is the principal thing to them

The fact they've considered jokers for selection proves this

The Yobo one no work
The Salisu own no work
The Finidi one no work
Will they ever wake up from this assistant stuff?

Chance ke?

The super eagles is not a learning curve

He should apply for coaching jobs outside Nigeria
Prove himself like keshi and then he'll get the super eagles job with so much respect

You don't wanna admit that your amunike is an average coach just like finidi and may even be worse
He's so full of theories. Painfully his theories always get rejected and that gives him more room to continue peacocking about and going on about his theories. Cos they never get tested just so we can KNOW. It's the same thing with Nwakali. They troubled us for years because he was never tested consistently for us to make a firm position. Same thing now with Amunike. We no go rest.

I'm not against Amunike. I'm against theories. Whether Amunike can or cannot do remains to be seen. Nobody should come and tell me he can and will do it. That's kindergarten talk.

The mathematical fact is if this is AFCON qualifiers, i won't even join to say No to Amunike. It Is what's at stake that's making me say No to those clamoring for him.

We are already in a very difficult situation and Amunike doesn't have what it takes to move us out of it and that's just permutations at play.

Maybe they're comfortable with having two 94 ex-ints, albeit 3, being at the helm of back to back World Cup absences for the alleged Top stars generation since the golden one. Maybe.

The only permutation I'll agree with them is that Amunike was a better choice than Finidi. But we're past all that one now. We wan cross Rubicon or Atlantic wey dem never tame.

Coaching is not really the problem of the Eagles. The team has been on a downward spiral from the last days of Rohr and no coach has seemed to get it right.

The previous coach had a score of 2/6 in WCQ while Finidi finished with 1/6.

I don't expect any miracles from the next coach as the team is very low in confidence.

Meanwhile...

Perception. How do our players perceive our local coaches? That's where local coaches fail or succeed. It's not about competence. It's perception.

4) Notwithstanding the challenges that attended the team’s preparations for the Day 3 and Day 4 games of the FIFA World Cup qualifying matches, owing to a 38-hour nationwide industrial action, the Board expressed displeasure with the poor attitude of some of the players to the National Assignment, and unanimously decided in favour of a more robust scouting programme of outstanding Nigeria-eligible players from across the four corners of the universe, who can add tremendous value to the nation’s flagship team.

The NFF released a 7 point agenda communique and this part I posted (#4) got my attention...if what I read is what it's implying to be, then it means A LOT of the players on this current team aren't safe...the new NFF board and foreign technical adviser might start preparing a new team of dedicated and serious minded players from across Europe and back home who will be ready to give their all when the next qualifiers start. The report that most players in this team disrespected Finidi begins to make more sense when you consider how some of them (won't mention names) arrived late to camp and opted for vacations and partying over training.

This is what I mean about perception. With our local coaches 90 percent of the time is spent with him trying to assert his authority, discipline the players and control things. But with white man, our players often comport themselves. Call it colonial mentality, it is what it is. And it has real practical implication.

Two teachers. Mr. A enters the class, spends a huge chunk of time trying to quiet the unruly kids, half of whom turn up late to class. Many don't pay attention during lessons and generally don't care.

Same student, same class but Mr. B enters and stamps his authority quickly. Students turn up on time. Eager to do their lessons and are generally committed.

Who do you think will get a better outcome?

Perception. That's why I am for a white man oo. Abeg bring white man.
