Fareke:That's unconstitutional. FG can't withhold allocations. It has been decided by the Supreme Court. They can not legislate for other tiers of government. May God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs! 10 Likes |

I wonder if they have the right to. But to think of it, people have not eaten, but you're using allocating money to building wasteful bridges that adds no value |

Any state governor that can't pay the new minimum wage should resign...! They increased your monthly allocation by over 30% since subsidy removal, yet you still claim money is not enough to pay workers. Yet many of these governors allocate billions every month to themselves and their cronies, all living lavishly at the expense of their citizens. 4 Likes 1 Share |

It's highly disgusting and disrespectful that since April when this Min Wage expired, it will take at least July - August ending for this bill to be passed or for the money to start being paid, highly distasteful! And yet it still confirms the recurring fact that the Government cares less about the masses. Passage of New National Anthem took about 7 days, Min Wage restructuring almost 3 months despite its early awareness Since October Last year when Labour went on strike and listed a host of things that was needed to ameliorate the economic hardship, one of the issues raised was that the Min Wage ending in April of next year should be in accordance with what will satisfy an individual to at least be able to take care of themselves without unnecessary borrowing (Living Wage) Since last year till now the Gorv or whichever parastatal in charge of Min Wage enumeration made no plans until Early Feb that Pres. Tinubu constituted a committee that asked for at least a Billion Naira for a sitting!?..it's now in July they are actually pressed into sending smth to senate...so in other words if Labor didn't strike...we will still be here in Mid June talking bout an expired wage that's still being paid.. Do we know the amount of people that have died, made homeless, committed suicide directly or indirectly just because of this lack of empathy by the FG It's ridiculous that this Gorv has no foresight or is just a reaction Gorv, no proactiveness at all..and this lack of foresight is what has been dragging us back and is still hindering us in so many developmental indices of this heterogenous society. Ah sigh! 1 Like 1 Share |

Fareke:. Good one. That's the right thing to do. It's not all about approving new minimum wages, but complying, especially the states and the private sectors. |

This increase in minimum wage will only favour government workers. Falana highlighted a very vital point which must be considered. There is a difference between wage and salary. What the government and labour have been doing so far is fixing minimum salary. This is totally wrong. Minimum wage should be done per hour as obtainable in other countries. We should be fighting for maybe 500 naira per hour or upwards not 60k a month. The issue with this current format is that it creates room for abuse of labour by private businesses. You will see a bar owner employ someone to work from monday to Saturday 8am to 7pm for 30k a month. If salary is billed per hour, it will fix that situation and will allow companies and businesses employ people to work based on the number of hours they can afford to pay. It would also make it easier for people to work multiple jobs. This is something labour should first of all fix. It is making these CEOs feel like demigods! 3 Likes 2 Shares |

They should opt to jail heads of departments. Once their necks are on the line they will sacm people, demand higher taxes and or make budget cuts. Fine would probably work just aswell if they recuse to pay jail follows. |

Fareke: This whole minimum wage, the FG and National Assembly are making it look like they are doing NLC a favour and by the look of it, the President will come out with a blackmail minimum wage amount and NA will pass it and make it look like NLC is the one going against the constitution of the land. This PBAT administration is very very short sighted in all their approach. They have no idea of how to run an economy to be up and well. |
