I recently got a contract and made 400k in profit. I am thinking of investing that money in cassava farming because It is one of the safest crops to plant.

Is this a good idea or I should plant something else?
Please do sharp sharp

120k from 2plots over a period of 10 to 12 months, whether gross or net, is too poor.
A plot should give nothing less than 500 heaps/stands of cassava. Currently in my area , the tuber is sold N50k per 200 stand (they call it one igba and you people are talking about 2 plots which can generate roughly 1000 stands./heaps.
The cost of the total expenses can be offset by intercropping it with stuff like maize that can be sold off in less than 3months.
You analysis is top notch. You're a farmer, in my settlement, here in Ogun state, presently a plot of cassava farm sells for 150k.

That project whatever guy is an internet farmer, he's just trying to cajole the op into selling land to him. He's Just maraudering as a farmer

Re: Should I Invest This Money Into A Cassava Farm? by adejades: 6:54pm On Jun 14
Bro that's not true. Like every other plant, it's is vulnerable to pests and weeds. Being able to weed and manage pests are the only guarantees to making money from it.

Also be mindful of security around where the farm will be located. If all these are sorted, with God's help you should be fine.

You should also source for a good breed of cassava stem- from IITA maybe. They have good yielding and pest resistant stems.

The value chain for cassava is massive if you get it right!!!

Best wishes.

OP try consumables like vegees....my clients harvest and cash-out every 3weeks....Stop-playing.

The vegees process is a no loss as long as it's monitored...moreso vegees like shukur has high demand hence nothing to fear.

Do you only need land? You'll also need to pay tenders(workers) but if your intent is to put your money as an investor for ROI then we'll and good...I'll link you.

Location?

It's a green in the western Nigeria.
Lastly YES two plots is even too much.

Wittyness

Ps. I want to start farming asap. maize, abaniro pepper, even cucumber. I just need someone to direct me on how not to lost money.

I am also interested in catfish n poultry .

Atleast that 400k can fund 2 acres of land for cassava. And at the end of the year, you are making like 1.5 to 2.4 million. Cos at the moment, 1 pick up truck is 700k for oyo state wey i dey. Just that, you will have to put your time, focus and everything on it. If you want it, you work for it. Me self dey expect money low-key by October. Dont play.

I have 1;acre of land which is just there.
What long term crops can it be used for as I am not around to look after it.
I need to clear the land and start making use of the land.

That your 5 Million (of 2 years ago) is worth 2.5 Million (in today's economy) this should not discourage you in investing today

Most free stems you see people give out aren't good.
