Quacks. Better not to have used any concrete at all than do have used what they did up there. When people hear concrete for road they think it is just ordinary mix and pour. Concrete has grades and different mix types. The least acceptable concrete grade is M30 which what they are doing up there is no where close to. I doubt when this concrete sets it can take up to 2000 psi.
/

How can you tell the mix ratio from the picture?

Pls go and rest. Bad belle people. You people will never appreciate what Alex Otti is doing.

Alex Ottih is really revolutionizing Abia State and showing others that good governance is not rocket science. However, there is one impression that is being created to dilute his great works and we need to stop it.

PDP performed terribly in Abia State but same terrible governance has been witnessed in states like Ogun, Delta etc. Go to Ogun state today and you will be shocked to see how bad their roads are. Their successive governors have performed even worse than those that governed Abia State.

However, the difference is that Igbos don’t tolerate bad governance. They will keep calling out and shaming such a governor until he sits up. This is unlike Yorubas. They will rather keep quiet and suffer in silence than to be embarrassed. They will rather dobale for a rogue governor openly and grumble in their bedrooms. In Ogun state, look at the revenue generated over the years and ask yourself, where did the successive governments invest them?

Ikpeazu performed badly, but I can assure you, he was better than most Ogun state governors.

Yoruba culture of see no evil and tell no evil, is very bad unprogressive. They really need to learn from Igbos on this aspect.

Is good governance based solely on road constructions?
Assuming infrastructure development is the index for good governance, is road construction the only infrastructure that needs attention?

Asides infrastructure, other areas of human needs are totally neglected. Talk about health, food, people oriented programs and ease of creation of wealth; all these has suffocated under him. No doubt, the roads he's constructing are welcomed development, but then how much is it costing the state? He pays the highest amount of money for contracts to contractors not in the state but won't pay his citizens working for him the old minimum wage and wage award just as other states are doing.
His roads are the most expensive in the country whereas other states spends less and get more value for the same length of roads he'll claim x3 of what other people spent.

Road construction is not what he was voted to do only and as such, not a reason to attribute good governance to his name cos he hasn't scratched other areas of governance and his govt is riddled with unbridled corruption and opaqueness.

I.diot telling a professional civil engineer to seek knowledge.
what in your laymans language carries the load/weight?? you think the tarred part is the structural part the kind of stupidity displayed on this site is mind boggling! wtf is wrong with some of you i.diots on this platform??

SSpeter:
Stop displaying your ignorance, that is not a concrete road it is a solid ground floor. Instead of using laterite to fill the road, they are making a solid ground floor, afterwards, the road will be tarred. Seek knowledge!

Lol, you’re funny. Tell me other indices of governance where Ottih is lagging behind? Roads are very important and are critical to development. Abia state has already solved their electricity problem, the only state to do so in Nigeria. The international markets that used to bring shame to the state are being revolutionized. The state is doing well in education.

You said his roads are expensive? Where you expecting P.H road that was already a dump site to be constructed by JB at cheap rate? Are the roads he is constructing of poor quality? The one he constructed in Umuahia was expanded and lots of buildings demolished. He paid the owners compensation which added to the road cost.

Ottih has done in one year, what other governors can’t even achieve in 4 years. If only there are up to 10 governors like Ottih, Nigeria would be fast developing now.

He is doing both single and double digit roads Oga.
His single digit roads are so numerous that when summed up, they will be greater than double digit whatever
Will he build a road beyond it's true length or will he spoil the good ones so as to have a lengthy stretch?

Many roads in Aba are under construction. The one off our street, Umuode road is under construction. Otti is not perfect but he will surely be remembered for his roads just like Mbakwe.
Umuode road that leads to ukwumango, or the one at Tonimas?
