TheGoodJoe:Oga Sir, tiki taka is not synonymous to growth in football for God's sake. What sort of a single story narrative of football, borne out of your own personal preference are you trying to foist on us by constantly harping about tiki taka as the definitive style of football? This game has history for God's sake. We have seen all styles of football win trophies and leagues. You like beans doesn't mean beans is the best food. Others like rice, some yam, fufu and so on May tiki taka perish! |

TheGoodJoe:False. Nothing beats winning the world cup. Ask Messi. In fact that 7-1 demolition of Brazil has significance because Germany eventually won the world cup. Yes the German, Dutch and Brazilian sides you mentioned have become the stuff of great football memories. But let's start with the players who played in these teams. You think they'd take memories over being called world champions? The Brazilian team has 5 stars on its jerseys. Germany 4. Italy 4. That is history, that is memory pinned on the very jerseys of these teams. Nothing beats winning the world cup. Nothing! 5 Likes |

Mujtahida: Because of your love for direct football, you call tactical ideas theories and have no understanding of it. While me, a lover of the possessive game has gained a lot of tactical understanding of it. This is a clear example of the tactical growth that comes from the modern heavy possessive approach. |

Mujtahida: We have seen the likes of Phil Lahm, Alaba, Zinchenko, Joao Cancelo, Gvardiol become masters of multiple areas of the field. Some of them saying they did not know they were capable of such. Remember John Stones, Akanji, Ake, how they have grown to play multiple roles with insane tactical understanding. The growth is evident. Jose Mourinho said he can't teach Zlatan, Eto'o and the likes, Guardiola was able to improve the overall play of Messi when he was already the 3rd best player in the World. The evidences are too much and not beans and rice talk. |

TheGoodJoe:You have no tactical understanding. Quit your delusion. Go and coach let's see what comes out of your understanding. I simply have no breathe for your theoretical postulations particularly given the utmost certitude with which you speak on matters you have no single, as in single practical knowledge about. On this thread I know we have working people. In our various fields, we all know the difference between the things we were taught in school and the practical hands on experience. I love all styles of football except that corruption called tiki taka. |

TheGoodJoe:I knew you'd grasp that but it doesn't explain nada so long as you diminished Italy winning the world cup and elevated the German 7-1 demolition of Germany over a world cup winning experience. If it explains your point perhaps I expressed your thoughts better than you did since I did not place great footballing memories over winning the world cup. |

What is in tactical football understanding that you think is so arcane that I wouldn't know it after watching football for over 30 years? Na quantum physics? Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mujtahida: 1:24pm On Jun 18 |
TheGoodJoe:You are shallow Bro. I'll explain. In the 19th century Nietzsche railed against the advances of modern life and labeled it corrupt. In exasperation he made a statement, 'God is dead' a statement that has been much misunderstood and misinterpreted. Nietzsche was attacking the deadness of modern life just as I am attacking the deadness of tiki taka and you ask me to explain why I say it is corrupt? Few days ago you asked me about what's the difference between tiki taka and possession football. That you can ask such a question baffled me and I answered you in a simple manner. To you tiki taka is the best form of football. Why should I explain to you why it is corrupt? If you cannot deduce my reasons for saying this from all my complaints about that style of football, then your comprehension get as e be. |
