These people ehn. They give different interpretations to the same scenario depending on what suits their bias. If this were Obi, he would have been hailed for his 'simplicity' just to push a narrative but for other politicians, it's about how power is transient. grin

He can't afford let's stop deceiving ourselves the presidential primary for APC took a lot from him
a two term house of assembly member and speaker, a two term governor of rivers, a two time apc campaign director, a two term minister of transport and you believe he can't afford opulence just because he contested to be an aspirant not even the main election itself.

What he is entitled to as a former gov alone can take him round the world, even in Nigeria as a former governor he is still entitled to securtiy details and all of that.

We are too gullible ans easily deceived in this country, when electioneering time comes again now these are the pictures they will be using to deceive us that they also share part of the sufferings with us.

Charly Boy lacks wisdom. Amaechi has never been a power-drunk politician. As governor he drove himself and sometimes went to the market with bike. Most times he walked around with no security. That said, he was one of the best ministers of the PMB administration kiss
I agree this with you. Amaechi is never of the noise gang

If history is still being taught in our schools, Rotimi Ameachi syndrome would have been a big topic.
From stealing his people's money to finance Buhari, to donating a campaign airplane for Buhari, to building a railway to Buhari's native home, to denying same railway for his people; all to spite GEJ/his wife.
People should be able to judge his mindset for ages to come.
Oh, I forgot he is from the area where sabotaging your people is not really a big deal.

kids, between me and you who is urging them to steal when you are online castigating an ordinary citizen for choosing to live like one.

Only you insult the man for choosing to stay in a commercial lounge like every ordinary citizens when ordinarily he could have chosen to wait at the VIP or executive waiting lounge that he is entitled to.

What precedence are you setting for those currently in power, you are encouraging them to keep looting so they will have enough to keep living in opulence even till after they are out of power.

I totally agree with you that politicians have a responsibility to block loopholes in the system. That's what is supposed to be their sacrifice to make the country better governed than they met it. But you can see that the top politician in the country who is preaching sacrifice is the same person who started that obnoxious idea of lavish life out of office at the expense of the state. He has continued on same trajectory as president. So if a person like Amaechi who "willingly" embraces the modest life as a private citizen is mocked, does it not provide justification for the looters to double their looting?

Unless we are not reading the same news. I don't think he was mocking Amaechi's present state but his previous "obnoxious" life style. The modest life he lives now should be the norm and taking up a persona (exploitative of the masses).

This useless crab mentality and stupid karma orgasm Nigerians like this old Buffoon celebrate is why our leaders keep getting away with bullshit .
Amaechi is still wealthier than the whole generation of Charley boy from stolen funds . Sitting at an airport or flying commercial, no solder or police or DSS with him doesn’t mean he has lost influence or broke. How many nigerians can afford to even drive to an airport. The way Nigerians celebrate and rejoice when the politicians die or experience misfortune is nauseating behaving as if there is a divine judge that is punishing them . Yet thousands and hundreds of innocent souls have died from their corruptions . Make we Dey play

Until Nigerians deal with their politicians physically , NOTHING will change .

I really don't get his point.

If Rotimi Amaechi wanted a personal police guard or retinue, I am sure he can easily afford it. He's been in financially lucrative positions of government for almost 16yrs. He moved from being the governor of one of the richest oil producing states to a minister of transport is no small feat.

He probably felt it was time to chill after leaving office.

He is also a bit laid back. As governor, he patronized the state hospitals rather than jet overseas as many would for treatment.

If Charly Boy wanted someone to roast, he should target those with notoriety regarding the things he condemned.

I'm not a personal fan of Amaechi by the way. I'm just saying things as they are.

Money don finish leave all this two time this and that, someone bribing in dollars to delegates, he converted all the two time this and that for the primaries, with all the two time this and that was he worth 500bn, I don't think so, he may not be as broke as you are but he can't afford all the frivolities again

kids.
What are the frivolities?

He doesn't need money to wait for his flight in the VIP lounge but he chose not to.

He doesn't need money to have dss and security details around him because he is entitled to it for free as a former governor.

So what frivolities are you talking about?

He can't mock his previous life without making reference to his present state.
Amaechi, after he lost the primaries could have chosen to warm himself into Tinubu's heart by becoming one of his praise-singers both in private and in public. He chose not to. Wike after losing the primaries and in a bid to ensure he remains relevant in the corridors of power chose to betray his party. Not only that, he extended it to daylight rigging on election day. Same for Keyamo. He was smart enough to avoid publicly backing any candidate towards APC primaries though feelers said he preferred Osinbajo. The moment Tinubu won, he became an e-warrior for him and went to ridiculous length of orchestrating the SPV saga on Atiku. Not only that, by the time the Buhari administration was winding down, he made a public repudiation of that tenure by denouncing the minister of state that he benefited from. Today, he's a minister in a govt with the highest number of ministers of state in our history. I'm just sharing with you the extent some folks can go to avoid becoming private individuals outside politics.
So for Amaechi to have the humility and common sense to embrace such after 24 years of the sweetness of public life deserves commendation and not mockery.
