I'll just leave it at this, movies and TV shows are make believe, just watch, enjoy and don't overthink it.

I get your point but you could say they were not expecting an inside attack, hence, the guards no show. If you also noticed, the queen also didn't have a guard outside when she was romping with Ser Criston.
I think they were expecting dragon attack not some inside job.

Best thing to do and most honorable of Ser Erryk.
As for Otto, I bet he saw it coming, he had the same fate earlier in Season 1

Two episodes in and the HOTD still disappoints. Has been quite anticlimactic following how things built up to the last episode of season 1.

Another underwhelming episode. With only 6 episodes to go. I can only hope they turn a corner real quick.
