If I start cursing our leaders every minute, it's not enough. When a leader is bad, the followers will follow suit. That's what we see everywhere today. Anyone who had been to manhattan in the US, especially when leaving the Broadway, shortly after the NY PA station, you'd see well-dressed American ladies everywhere who will smile at you naturally , when you're not even focusing your attention on them. Manhattan is like broad Street where you see lots of offices.

When they see you and you happen to give them audience at the rush hour, they ask where you from...cos your accent is a trigger. The moment you say you're from Nigeria, l'obatan. They won't let you go without getting close. 2 weeks ago, a lady paid for my taxi back to my programme venue. No strings attached. They're having a change of mentality about us. We're no scammers. When you have controversial and super corrupt leaders at the helms , what do you expect? Disrespect and this has been going on from time immemorial.

Look at those leaders, they taught most of the bad eggs and they became pros in it. There are a lot of them holding key positions today in Nigeria who were eigher jailed in the US over credit card fraud, or jailed for dealing drugs. Those are the people denting the Nigeria's image and most of those bad eggs are their coded couriers .

Well said chief. I am also surprised with the attention received from opposite sex when I left the country last year. I guess the economic situation has damaged the reasoning of our ladies which is why they put us under severe pressure to cater for their unending needs.

I lost count of times western ladies paid for my t-fare or buy street lunch for me. It is that bad for Nigeria ladies, most that to buy common bottle water, na burden.

If your wife does any of the following, and it is okay with you, please stop sounding like Mumu when she sleeps with different men. It was right there in your face:

1. Wear waist beads
2. Wear leg beads or chains
3. Has tattoo on any or all part of her body
4. Sprays her hair to golden or bright colour.
5. Has nose rings
6. Has more than one earring, per ear.
7. Has a personal car.

Don't get it twisted. All these are beautiful and fashionable. But it is what it is.

Enough said

Lol

The level at which awon boiz have taken their hustle to, this doesn't surprise me.

Madam, Nigerian men are very very selective, and our women are premium standard - Beauty, in the kitchen, brains, and on bed.

Benefits aside, no sane Nigerian man will be proud to be dating or sleeping with any white women old enough to be his mother.

But for the sake of the hustle (Green card and all)

We send you our greetings and we appreciate the international recognition.

Wese!

LoL I remember an American lady who wrote me on Instagram after seeing one of my comments online... I was even the one treating her as if she was a scammer cos I wasn't interested, but eventually she came to Nigeria to marry another dude...

Nigerian men are HIGHLY sought-after, but one thing KINGS must always remember is that it's never about the Japa; don't marry someone you don't love or don't wanna raise kids with...

So you think... but most of y'all don't realize that majority of Nigerian men are high value.

An average educated Nigerian man in his 20s or 30s has a degree/possibly master's degree, hard-wroking, has future goals and most importantly, believes his money is for his wife and kids! Most Nigerian men are like this... even if they don't all drive Benzes and BMWs early in life, most Nigerian men end up making it, that's what you call a high value man.

A lot of foreign women are able to recognize this potential and snatch these guys for themselves, whereas the slay queens back home are busy looking for yahoo boys who have today but no tomorrow, so they can buy human hair and iPhones, so they sell their futures. Everybody go dey alright las las...

I'll speak for myself as a woman, it's not just about how successful professionally a man is nor how much money he makes.

It's about what lies within him and shapes his every day interactions, his value system.

And nigerian men are on the lowest rung. Strip away any potential wealth, and what we have left is a sadistic, dishonest, cheating, unscrupulous human being with a god- syndrome.

In your hypothetical potential scenario, he may have all the money, but for the women, their daily lives is most likely one of servitude, with one man lording over them, has no accountability, feels no remorse for wrongdoings and probably a community d1ck.

No amount of money can compensate for living with people like that.

And for this reason, when people talk about nigerian men, high-value should not be used in the same sentence.

For example, this is thread where people are justifying dishonesty. Why would anyone in their right mind fvck with these lot? Just by observing how they handle their own matters, you know how they will behave if you have any interactions with you
https://www.nairaland.com/8126391/man-allegedly-denied-visa-owing

Any woman that gets involved with nigerian men, should be prepared for what she would most certainly see.

1. I did mention values as some of the most essential traits of a high value man... No man who is truly successful renegades his family or does things to sabotage his home, if you didn't pick that up, it's on you sis.

2. I don't know the kind of Nigerian men you've met, but my humble advice: change your circle and get closer to God fearing people... Not the ones you meet in the club and parties. Not the flashy ones who are into illegitimate but luxurious lifestyles, cos most of YOU women are GUILTY of looking for the right men in the wrong places!

3. Refer to answers 1&2 ... But actually, there is no Nigerian man who wants to be your "lord". If you're also ambitious as a woman, trust me, you can both be bosses at home and enjoy.

On the community d1ck thingy, I wish you hadn't said that. Nigerian women are some of the most unfaithful and most promiscuous in the world. The mention of DNA test sends chills down the spine of a lot of women... Still, we don't downgrade y'all outside and still believe the good ones exist.

4. If they aren't high value, maybe you should also check your own value system. A lot of you don't appreciate good men, that's why you don't meet the right people...

What I can pick up, in summary, is that you wrote all these from a place of personal experience and your opinions were highly subjective. If you've been hurt by the wrong men (not excluding the possibility that you might have some toxic traits yourself), I hope you heal and see that life goes on. Your experience with 1 or 2 persons doesn't give you the right to.make negative generalizations and I speak for the millions of decent Nigerian men.

I rest my case.

I see a lot of the following in your response.

1) No true Scotsmen fallacy.

2) Cognitive dissonance.

3) "whataboutism".

In my first response to you, I said it's like looking for a needle in haystack. The needle exists, however the volume is overwhelmingly skewed towards the haystack.

You speak about getting hurt like isn't a part of parcel of the human experience. There is no shame in that.

I don't mess with Nigerian men as a collective in romantic matters, and haven't done so in 20 years.

In that time, I haven't observed anything that dispels my opinions nor make you as a collective, an attractive proposition.

I have no horse in this race, because by my observation, it's a race full of donkeys.
