You say my criticism is harsh and also expect him to be sacked half season if we keep playing poorly. If it’s that harsh should half season sack not be doing too much considering his first season and all the trophies he has won?

Last season he had credits in the bank given how his first season was. Add to this the fact that we’ve been there before with other coaches- where players for no reason stop running and also gets injured anyhow. That’s why he should be cut some slack.

Next season he won’t have that much credit considering how his second season went, in addition to a good TW.

Assuming he leaves today, what will the new coach build on exactly?

INEOS will need to invest in the squad and team for the new coach- whoever they may be, to have any modicum of success.

If they don’t do it right away, they’ll be forced to do it when the same players who will play well at the beginning of the new coach’s tenure, down tools when things get a little though, or when they have a lil disagreement with him.

Several things need fixing at United- culture, player’s professionalism, mentality, environment and the entire medical and transfer department.

He has had two seasons to half the rot at least. But our best players regressed instead. Even the first season, Rashford picked form and was bailing the team for a long time. Some of us knew it was just a matter of time before everything come crashing down and it did last season. We will play nonsense and end up with a win, deceiving some people, not me.

Even the match where more than half of the players that started were players he bought, they played rubbish and we end up blaming injuries

You’ve decided to examine the two season as one. I’m choosing to take it on a one by one basis. Afterall, the two seasons were not glued together.

If you believe Rashford was the one bailing us out in his first season, covering ETH’s ineptitude, can we say the same thing about Bellingham and Ancelotti at Real Madrid? Or Rodri and Pep Guardiola?

You said injury doesn’t matter but Pep lost almost all his games when Rodri got injured. Injuries to core players are very impacting to team performance.

The game is the game.

Had things gone better in the league last season and we finished top 4/3, you won’t be this critical of the coach. You’d be asking InEos to get him more players instead.

Like I said, his first season was a step in the right direction. The last season was several steps taken backward.

If City was playing rubbish in Rodri absence, then Pep is rubbish. If RM played rubbish and Bellingham was bailing them, Ancelloti is rubbish too. I believe we both agree on that.

I'll still be critical even if we finished top 4 because we won't go far playing the way we played, and I don't just focus on the scoreline or results. If we managed to enter top 4, its not because we were good but because others were worse. What then happens when others become good, probably because they had a one off bad season? Where will we find ourselves?

So you mean after over a dozen transfers, we can't point at something positive in the way we play after 2 years under ETH?

How many players do you think INEOS will need to buy for ETH before we can begin to see some changes in the way the team approach every game and style of play?

We both know buying lots of players isn’t the solution, else CheLSea would’ve won the league. It’s about buying the right players for the right style.

Of the 12 players bought in the last couple of years, how many of them would you term a good buy considering their age, technicality, ability and fit with the style?

Like I said earlier, you’re taking a blanket approach to everything, including the two seasons. You can’t be objective if you keep doing that.

If a coach’s ability doesn’t depend on the quality of their players..if they are judged purely on what they can do with brick and mortar, why are Brentford fans not dreaming of winning the league? Why did Burnley relegate despite beating almost everyone in the championship?

A good coach needs good players. That’s just the truth. If not, Klopp wouldn’t splash 70m on VVD.

The way we played was a consequence of the available players. It is tied to recruitment, culture, mentality and what not.

Else Mourinho, who has won several titles in several countries, wont say finishing second with Rashford and co is one of the biggest achievements of his coaching career.

Posterity has shown that United is a toxic environment where proven coaches have m failed. Summarily dismissing the coach is not the solution. Fix the environment first. Sack the coach if things don’t improve after that.

They are good enough for ETH. Even Mctom is rated as a technical player under ETH

A good coach needs good players, I agree. If not, ETH won't what he splashed on the players he has bought so far.

ETH's contract gave him a lot of power. What did he do with that power? Now I hear the solution is to take away the power from him. Then when players he didn't recommend are bought and don't deliver because of his rubbish style, some of you here will blame the board as usual

You were asking for the number of players ETH would need to sign before we start seeing “something positive.” That’s why typed that reply. It’s not by number of players bought. Chelsea signed more players than us last season and they had a worse campaign.

It’s not hard to identify a good player. If you know what qualities are important in what parts of the field, you’ll easily know who’s good and who’s not.

Also, it doesn’t matter how big or small a club is, a coach should not be allowed to be in full control of transfer decisions, especially in this age. It must be a joint effort. Look at Arsenal, City and other topr clubs. Things don change.

Please give suggestions on how this environment can be fixed.

I don’t have experience operating a football club so i can’t say I’m the best candidate to turn things around.

But if i were to correct the anomaly, I’d start with changing the environment first.

Culture. Rules. Regulations. Process. Procedures. Everything concerning both players and coach should be well defined and unambiguous.

Then I’ll ensure the players and coaches have the best equipment and operating schedules. How do they prepare for games, what can be done to improve it? To world standards. How is the coach approaching team harmony, tactics, and what not? What can be done to improve it? Do we need to get rid of some players who don’t fit in?

Once that is defined, you can move on to recruitment and what kinds of players you want to bring in.

That’s just a brief of how I’d approach it. It’s easier to hold people accountable for their jobs when they are given the best conditions to work in.

Culture, rules, regulations etc, ETH had the power to do something about them. He fought off Ronaldo and the club took his side. He was not some helpless rookie coach with no power and just a figurehead

There's no how we would be in negotiation with a player we knew we would be playing in the same competition with..being that he's club is owned by the same dude..

Don't they consult before choosing their target..

I don’t know if the arrogant idiot will come good. We should never have given him that power in the first place. But because of the mess we’ve put ourselves in over the years and how he was the best candidate at the time we hired him, i can understand why we would succumb to his demands.

Now that foul yanshe has been exposed, the best way forward is to reduce his powers. He’ll have some say in who comes in but he won’t be in charge.

ETH is a terrible recruiter and talent identifier. There no doubt about that. However that’s not what we hired him for. There’s a good coach in there, based on his previous jobs. It would be a shame to sack a Physics teacher because he was terrible at teaching business studies.

I don’t know o. He should be heavily involved in the process tho. And he must answer to those above him, those who understand how a club should be run.
