When who governs Imo state mattered most, Evans Enwerem, from Owerri zone, was gov of Imo state. That's when the present Imo State came to be. The actions and inaction of Enwerem govt and Olu-Owerri group made Imo state today's one city - Owerri - state.
Enwerem literally deleted all govt development programmes earlier slated for Orlu and Okigwe zones.

(1) Enwerem moved the programme of regional water supply projects of Okigwe and Orlu under the rugs in his office but maintained Owerri regional water scheme already completed by Mbakwe administration.
(2) Enwerem refused to commplete the work of urban drainage system and surfacing of the many urban roads in Orlu under construction before he inherited them in the new Imo state.
Even state library in Orlu was closed down. Thereafter, the term state library started to be misconstrued as library only for the state capital. The state library in Owerri was established by East Central State government based in Enugu.
Common AICE Campus in Orlu was closed down.

FUTO, AIFCE, FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC, FEDERAL COLLEGE OF LANDS AND SURVEY were all in Owerri when then gov Evan Enwerem ignored EQUITY and located Imo state University in Owerri. Nothing govt establishment in Orlu.

During the period, after present Imo State dragged what is now Abia state university with newly created Abia state, Oru-Owerri people met and swore that no government development project or institution to Imo state must be allowed to be located outside Owerri zone.

Who are you, who is seeking for your opinion? Are you a king from any of the communities you said?

When Anambra was created first in 1976, did anybody seek your opinion on where to place Ozubulu and Okija? You are nobody in this context. The issue has been finalised and if you don't like it go to court. Okija and co was under Orlu division and must be part of Orlu state.

It marvels me how some unguided fools take Anambra to be a subethnic group in Igbo land and wish never to divide it upon the huge population of the state. Stop acting like a low class human. The people who know the template for state creation in the southeast have already started their work and will soon finish it. Ohaneze and ndi Eze are aware of this template.

No state in southeast was created on tribal line, the first two states that were created out of the East central state were created on the context of balancing population between the two new states, IMO and Anambra. Which at the end they still had slightly two unequal populations.

Children of nowadays, due unphathoned reason or pride started seeing Anambra as a subtribe whereas no two clan in Anambra speak the same dialects. Those of them that were under Orlu division like Ihiala, Nnewi south, Aguata and co originally speak Orlu.

Your attitude is one of the reason our elders and leaders are considering and are bent on dividing Anambra. We don't want to have another Ikwerre in the nearest future. This is how it all started. After the creation of Ebonyi state east of the southeast between Enugu and Abia states the next new state will be created West of the southeast between Imo and Anambra state and the capital will be located in the Imo area of the state just as the capital of Ebonyi state is being located in the Enugu area of the state.

No state in southeast was created on tribal line, the first two states that were created out of the East central state were created on the context of balancing population between the two new states, IMO and Anambra. Which at the end they still had slightly two unequal populations.

Children of nowadays, due unphathoned reason or pride started seeing Anambra as a subtribe whereas no two clan in Anambra speak the same dialects. Those of them that were under Orlu division like Ihiala, Nnewi south, Aguata and co originally speak Orlu.

After the creation of Ebonyi state east of the southeast between Enugu and Abia states the next new state will be created West of the southeast between Imo and Anambra state and the capital will be located in the Imo area of the state just as the capital of Ebonyi state is being located in the Enugu area of the state.


See your myopic and unwise reasoning, not considering the benefit attached to state creation. Upon the huge population located between Imo and Anambra you still want them to remain under the two different states. Go back to your school and demand for repay.

Do you even realize that the current governors of both imo and Anambra fall into the proposed state ?

Are you now saying that Soludo and Uzodimma should step down as governors of their respective states and go back to Orlu state or the creation should wait till after Soludo' s second tenure in 2030 ?

How can you propose a state that will see two serving governors becoming none indigenes in the states they hold sway ?

So in your mind both Soludo and Uzodimma will support Orlu state so they can step down as governors of Anambra and imo respectively and come and become ordinary citizens in the new state ?
Or they can continue with governing their states even when they are no longer indigenes of those states ? Ok , if they are to continue with their current states ( as one must not be an indigene to govern a state ) and a governor is elected for the new Orlu state won't that make Orlu state to have 3 indigenous serving governors ?

I don't see this flying unless they should wait till 2030 after both Uzodimma and Soludo must have been through with their two terms but then , the Anioma state which is more popular might just size the opportunity

This population drift to Owerri zone is because Owerri zone houses nearly all the federal and state ministries institutions and parastatals in Imo state, no consideration to leave even one development project in Orlu and Okigwe zones to develop from. A state or region where only one locality hosts more than 98% of govt development projects alone, attracts most of the population from the other parts of the state denied govt establishments - such a state is immersed in fraud.
Now trending: due to migration to Owerri, modern generation of people from Orlu and Okigwe zones speak only Owerri dialect of Igbo language, adopt the culture and traditions of Owerri. Reasonable people from Orlu senatorial district are now bent on stopping the trend.

Orlu is a failed state project

Anambra is the only state in Nigeria that every village has so many individuals that makes the towns stands out. If you go Oba you see Obi Cubana, if you go to Uli you see Emoney, etc, it is a long list. But we cannot say the same for your backward useless worthless imo state that’s full of poor villages with nothing to show .
