lol The regular unavailability of top shelf movies these days has made my work easier. It gives me ample time to knock off my oldies. To put things in perspective, the only new flick i have copped this month and that i even think is worthwhile has been Hitman, and we are already passed middle of the month.

Plus, i have recently found out, i have lost the ability to even download and hoard media in large volume .They recently upgraded the internet around me to a fairly high bandwidth and each time i connect, i just lose all urge to download, cuz bro i have several drives with years and years worth of media, and i basically don't see the point of copping more without clearing the backlog that i have, maannn, i had files i got as far back as 2020, unseen!!.

The straw that even broke the camel's back, was a last month, Google changed policies to their unlimited drive option for workspace, and my admin was forced to delete one of my drives without prior notice and this drive had close to a 1TB worth of files, files that i have curated from way back, from torrents with seeds that are dead as of today or hosting sites that no longer exists, so getting them back is near impossible 😩

So bro, is all vanity downloading and hoarding unending without dedicating the time to see them, so what i do now, is to shuffle within my HDDs each week, and just pick out oldies to see, i have a priority list of which to see first too, then i follow a max 3 shows weekly, that's just 3 episode per week, and then the occasional good new flick that drops once a while.

Sorry about your drive. I know how it feels.

True, scarcity of top shelf films this period has largely helped me some what. I know my focus is TV shows this year. Cos over the years I've been focusing on solely movies and moving for event TV shows or few that really pique my interest.

The lesser amount of good films this period is helping me to balance my TV show watchlist vs the films. I know I'll still have time to get back on the movies. I just need to clear off some TV shows. The increasing amount of prestige TV shows In good numbers ain't helping. Part of the aftermath of the streaming wars.

Under Paris is a solid 7/10 for me.
Finally a shark movie that's actually entertaining and thrilling.
Not bad at all, totally enjoyable and entertaining, a proper Netflix and chill movie.

Kind of summerizez the capitalist world we live in, it's all about money and prestige for the elites, they never really care about the ordinary citizens, even when they are aware that their actions can cause harm to the ordinary people, they will still prefer to take risk at the expense of the ordinary people while they hide behind the military and their big gated mansions.

Anyways, it was a nice watch and with the way the movie ended with the whole of Paris under water, if they indeed decided to shoot part two, then they will need a bigger budget because it's going to be huge.

Donald Sutherland aka President Snow! and the father of Kiefer Sutherland aka Jack Bauer has sadly passed away today.

A talented actor that would always lit up the screen which ever role he was given, His strong antagonist flair in The Hunger games, made that franchise a force to be reckoned with.

Rest easy king 😔🕊️

Donald Sutherland was an actor that aged very gracefully. Man was putting in work to the very end

And he retained his good looks.

Has stage presence. He was only in The Italian Job for a short while but made an impact and also gave a decent performance in The Mechanic.
May his soul rest in peace.

Reviews are important I don't care what anyone says,if your show ain't critical acclaimed I will avoid like plague there by saving my time.

I have avoided star wars "the acolyte" so far from what I've seen I made a good decision.

If rotten tomatoes or IGN no rate your show over 8 or 9 I ain't watching.

It's been long I saw a pic directed by Kathryn Bigelow. Really nice she's coming back with something somewhat big.

I have seen some not so critically acclaimed media that totally banged, more often than not even. I have also seen highly critically acclaimed media that were totally bare áss.

Not saying you shouldn't follow ratings per se, but there is no recognized degree in film or show critic, and every critic is expressing his or her own personal views, views which might be totally different from yours if you eventually get to see said media.

Moreover, the mechanics that goes into criticting a movie or a show, are just too much these days, with many different underlying agendas warping genuine criticism. An Alphabet person critic, might rate a bottom tier flick high just because his/her/their people are represented in it.

Also the highest rated movie of all - the shawshank redemption initially bombed

Same for the thing. Ratings are a guide but in the end peoples tastes vary.

You do know those ratings by IGN and RT are subjective. Rather than run with those inec scores I run to IMDB and read their user reviews and ratings. It gives me an objective assessment of the film
