Quick question house... ...I'm Ghanaian and applying from Nigeria. I've got a Nigerian passport, but expired...can I use my Gh one, and attach my Nigerian PR, or biodata page of the Nigerian pp, even though it's expired...? |
Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by belovedmimz: 10:33pm On Jun 21 |
sunneroman: I've started my application already. I'm in Abuja though. |
Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by bomsyvic: 4:35am On Jun 22 |
belovedmimz: You can't use an expired passport to apply. Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months 1 Like |

bomsyvic: That's why I'm using the Gh one (which is very much valid). But I'm applying from Nigeria, not Ghana thus my question - how to prove I can apply from Nigeria...with just PR or attach bio-data of expired Nigerian pp, since I have one? 2 Likes |

untamedd: Thanks to everyone who took time to answer my questions. I arrived last week, and everything is going on fine as planned. Although I didn't plan to apply for my PR this time around. I am here alone so I intend to travel back 3 weeks after delivery and for my family and I to return here sometime next year for the PR processing. This trip is just to birth my baby and collect the passport. Thanks to you all for your insight. 2 Likes |

How many weeks are you at the point of traveling?? IderadeAratumi: |
Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by Obinnau(m): 8:03am On Jun 29 |
IderadeAratumi:3 weeks after delivery may not be enough. You have to plan for the delay in getting your baby's birth certificate and the delay in getting the passport. |

Good evening all, thank you for the good works and support here. Please we are expecting a baby and we are considering giving birth in Brazil 🇧🇷. She's like 4-5months into the gestation period, the baby bump can't be easily consealed incase we are called for interview. Please how do we get the Visa? Can she travel alone and I go meet her just before she puts to bed? Are there good Nigerians who help people in her condition for a fee? Where do we start from and what are our chances? Please help. |
Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by Bammybestowed: 9:29pm On Jun 29 |
solid3: Your main concern should be getting her a visa which is very unlikely considering the fact that she’s far gone into pregnancy and the visa process itself takes around 1-2months. Secondly, coming to give birth in Brazil alone is very tasking, telling you this from experience, if you can follow your wife, please do. That is not to say it’s impossible, some of us are here alone and surviving but it’s really not easy especially integrating into the system during pregnancy and taking care of a newborn. Lastly, there are people who charge for this but be very careful of unscrupulous Nigerians, I will recommend @walex22, I hope I got his username correctly. I wish you all the best. 1 Like |

Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by untamedd(f): 4:18pm On Jul 01 |
IderadeAratumi: Like someone rightly said, 3 weeks may not be enough. You need to be fast about it. You can get your birth certificate once you're out of the hospital and apply for RG and Passport immediately. They both can take at least 2 weeks to come out but you can't rule out delays. That being said, getting a visa from Nigeria to come back to Brazil after you have given birth is almost impossible (maybe it's possible sha) but i don't know anyone who has done it successfully. I know people who were refused based on that. They check and know you came to birth and choose not to grant it. The best thing you can do is apply for your PR, the rest of your family can apply for theirs later without mentioning you in their application. You can submit your PR application once baby's RG is out, do a power of attorney for a friend or lawyer here to get it for you and send to Nigeria once it's done. |

untamedd:eh even as a mother of a Brazilian, they can decide to deny one a visa? |
Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by IderadeAratumi: 5:53pm On Jul 01 |
Whao. Thank you so much for this exposition. What I heard from someone is that if you use their free public health system to birth, you may not be granted visa to return. Can you confirm if everyone you knew who were not granted visa based on previous birth in the country, includes also those that used private hospital (that's the category I belong) And Please oooo. Based on your insightful feedback, I have just 2 questions: 1. How possible is it to process my Police Character Certificate from Nigeria without being physically in Nigeria? 2. Since I am here alone, would I and the father be required to process a travel authorization for baby's passport before I can travel alone with the baby back to Nigeria. Abeg make una come to my rescue oooo. Seems I'm getting more than I bargained for (positively anyway) pastorswivesglobal@gmail.com is my email address untamedd: 1 Like |

Obinnau: The thing shock me too sir. But this untamedd has been a blessing. The insight she has shared so far is the reason I'm having a very seamless time here in the country, also the reason I was eventually allowed to fly despite my very big and protruding tummy. Her tips has been life saving for me so far 2 Likes |
