The puppet master has spoken. . Please pull their strings so they can dance. The truth is, you can't eat your cake and still have it. Be wise enough to never cause a war that you will end up being the same person that will be down on your knees begging for respite. What David Hundeyin has said applies to all those who get defeated during wars., Examples are countries which the allied forces defeated during the second world war. These countries were systematically put under control economically, militarily, even linguistically..................and more. Once again you can't eat your cake and still have it. 30 Likes 1 Share |

Ofodirinwa: I read the same thing many years back that soviet union after their technical survey and plant design and planning selected onitsha for the steel plant. Iron ore was to be mined in itakpe and transported via river Niger to onitsha while coal was to be transported via rail from enugu to onitsha. Steel products were to be shipped via barges to warri and to Lagos. But Nigerian factor overtook technical experience and common sense. From an initial budget og $6b the project has gulped more than $40b and is still a dream project. Ajaokuta was planned same time with China Steel complex, south Korea Steel complex and India Steel complex. All others are working at full blast today and have been expanded several times but Ajaokuta remained a white elephant project and a sink hole 15 Likes 1 Share |

As you all go on conducting an autopsy of Ajaokuta, please remember that kogi state former governor once made a statement, something like below : APC lost the 2023 presidential election but INEC helped them rig the election against the winner who he clearly identified as the LP candidate Just remember, no matter the brouhaha about him and EFCC today . . . never we forget to make him explain what that his statement means. 7 Likes |

mrvitalis: Those are the kind of @nimalistic entities one is living with. They shout one Nigeria but are evil minded. It's only an Igbo with no sense that will be comfortable around those things. Instead of them to do the right things, they will rather use their archaic thinking in making policies. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

kettykin: You always read nonsense that tickle your victimhood. Ajaokuta was sited close to raw materials (which is heavy) --- Itakpe Iron Ore. Itakpe is a village close to Ajaokuta (both used to be in one Local Government Area). How unreasonable would it be to be transporting heavy iron iron from Itakpe to Onitsha by River Niger which is only navigable during raining season. 3 Likes |

What a fine Exposee! While in their quest to subjugate the first and only really homegrown Black Power; Biafra,, they entered into all kinds of agreements but immediately the Black Power was defeated by a joint Soviet - Anglo war action, they the real conquerors (Soviet & UK) fell apart. Sharing formula naim cause the fight! Soviet was promised steel & solid Mineral resources while the UK took the oil and gas resources. As cold war heats up, they tossed the Soviet out. Now, the problem is, the Soviets were Smart enough to install machines and equipments caliberated and designed in Russian. So even if till ninety kpirigidim, nothing fo work there, until the Russian are brought back to continue from where they stopped... Nobody in Nigeria can operate the Blast Furnace, as most of the over 5000 Nigerian engineers trained in the old Soviet union are old, retired or dead. And no new ones has been trained since 1980. Before these useless Asiwaju 🐀 rats wey never leave their brown roof region talk, I did my NYsc in Ajaokuta. I know the complex like the back of my hand! Had it been Kogi State was in eastern Nigeria, I believe Putin would have used it as pretext to actively support Biafrans..... Except MNK and his group has a way to convince them that Kogi will be invaded and expunged from Nigeria back to Biafra. Also, the European powers shared NIGERIA into two areas of influence, but the Brits, more like our Ronu brothers, having two face, cheated the Soviets. The plan was to dredge river Niger from Geregu all the way to Port Harcourt Atlantic outlet while the Brits take Lagos Atlantic outlet. But trust the Brits at your own peril. 2 Likes 1 Share |

jamesversion: Refineries use OIL ,which are far easier to transport and can even run through pipelines utilising gravity in many areas. India has many refineries without being an oil producing country. 2 Likes |

kettykin:This is the true story of the Steel complex that was to be built by the Soviets but politics overruled economic considerations and Ajaokuta happened. Nigeria has no future as it is today. We are just wasting time, resources and talents together without making any tangible progress. Reality speaks better and even at that, envy and hatred still has a better hold on the evil contraption. My projection for it's dissolution remains ten years from now. |

Brenbentondiaz: Igbos are very wise and intelligent. They knew previous two presidential winners were not right for the country. And they held their ground. The last election, Peter Obi was the better candidate and the only one who truely was ready to work with the common man. So you expected the south east to act politically correct by voting the wrong candidate just because they shouldn't be seen as supporting their own? It was fortunately that the better candidate happened to be an Igbo man. You guys are very funny. You all will rather vote a pig than an Igbo man and yet you keep disturbing the peace with 'One Nigeria' slogan. Keep voting funny characters. It's quite unfortunate that those who make up large numbers of voters are the ones with very bigoted mindset. 1 Like 2 Shares |

In the case of Nigeria, distance between Niger Delta And Kaduna Refinery is over 1,000km. Think about: 1. Thousands of pipelines and their initial cost (millions of Dollars) , maintenance and surveillance for security and safety 2. So many compressor and pump stations have to be built along that line, the initial cost, constant manning, maintenance, replacement at end of life. 3. Flammable events due to exposure to vandals and the environmental impact and consequent plant shut down costs. With Iron Ore you just ship by barge, truck or train. It is not flammable, no maintenance etc. So you may need to revisit your assertion. Also that gravity thought too is off, if you know the viscosity of oil and flow assurance. oyatz: 1 Like |
