They should ask the likes of Hope Uzodinma for number 6. The companies of those involved should refund whatever they took from the FG when in the pdp for the dredging contract. 1 Like |

Opebiman:The abandoned multimillion USD Ikere Gorge Dam in Oyo State that was initiated by the former President Shehu Shagari government in 1982 to provide hydroelectricity and clean water for agricultural irrigation and consumption for the Old Oyo State, Ogun State, Lagos State and generally all contiguous states should have been on that video lists of failed projects due to lack of sustainable funding all these years! The expensive imported equipment like turbines that were brought in from Germany were NEVER used and hence have become damaged. The current goverment in Nigeria at the Federal level must finish this project that has embarrassingly NOT been completed since 1982 when I was younger in age... A whopping 42 years ago! A focus on other long abandoned projects around Nigeria would be better instead of initiating new replicas of existing abandoned projects. NO doubt, the very corrupt and ruthless military dictatorships in Nigeria from the Ibrahim Babangida years contributed a lot to these abandoned projects, but then, the ambitious Tinapa Resort and the Abuja CCTV projects (this rapidly fell into disuse after installation) were initiated by civilian governments under the PDP State and Federal administrations. I must commend former President Buhari's go ernment though for identifying some abandoned projects located especially in the North and even completing and upgrading all the disused and abandoned national silos in all the regions of Nigeria. 1 Like 1 Share |

We were made to think that a lack of continuity in governance was the main cause of project abandonment but in reality, politicians' repulsiveness towards evolution is the main cause of this. We can never get it right. 1 Like |

We should continue thinking our problem is non-Nigerians and not our lootocrats in executive, judicial, legislative and other arms of government. Shoutouts to the ones in private business and the banks. These heinous acts wouldn't have been possible without your collaboration. |

Opebiman:Hmmm, I think the current government should abandon other planned projects and finish up these ones, so that they can also bring in money while they continue with their planned ones in the future; Nigeria is great in wealth, and could be greater if only we can manage all these our available and wasting resources well now and in the nearest future... 1 Like |

The 18-storey five-star Tower Hotel project in Bayelsa State aimed to attract tourists and provide high-end accommodations. Buildings, lights and resort type infrastructure will not attract tourists to Nigeria in meaningful numbers. Nigeria's strengths is culture. Nigeria needs to invest in this area to maximise her visitors attracting potential. Resorts, fancy buildings, and spectacular lights should be viewed as complimentary. After touring Nigeria's cultura offerings , resorts, high quality buildings, roads and the rest should act as places for tourists to wind down and savour the memories of Nigeria before departing. 3 Likes |

This is Africa for you. the major reason why the projects weren't completed is because of corruption and mismanagement. |

Summary of this post - all governments, president, governors and LG chairmen have been wasteful. Both past and present. The challenges of today were not created now. It has been accumulation and mismanagement at all levels for so many years. All leaders are guilty. It has caught up with us. 1 Like |
