Ahead of Abuja? I was practically born and raised in Lagos and that state, since as far back as the 70s has remained the most viable state in that entire country to date. None of that happened because of Tinubu. And Tinubu contributed absolutely nothing for the 8 years he governed that state, that much is on record. So, this attempt to rewrite history in favor of a man whose record shows he practically sat back doing nothing in the state is just that, a dubious attempt to give value to nothing. undecided

Take Buhari to the America and make him potus and let's see what would happen to that country.....there is a reason organisations seek to hire the best brains around to get their job done and not dim wits.....you either make something better or worse,it's only dependent on who's in charge

I was only inferring that tinubu was very influential in the upward trajectory Lagos as been on since he was in office.....in the 90s Lagos had taken a downward trend before he came in.....refuse, security, bad roads, poor traffic management, inefficient civil service, decrepit schools, parlous health care system very degenerate and the most chaotic transport system to mention a few.....I don't know how long you have been gone for but it started taking a turn around in 99 when tinubu came on board.

Tinubu had no such influence in Lagos; there are no records to prove any such. Yes, Lagos had taken a downward trend in the early part of the 90s, however, the Mohammed Buba Marwa Government that preceded the Tinubu government takes credit for turning that trend around before Tinubu showed up and thought to do nothing for the next 8 years that followed it. Marwa accomplished in just 3 years in Lagos State what Tinubu could not do in all 8 years as governor of Lagos and also in his time so far as President. Go back through the records and see this for yourself. Marwa, not Tinubu, turned the tides in Lagos. Tinubu only sat back and amassed wealth for himself for the first 8 years of democracy in Lagos. undecided
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohammed_Buba_Marwa

Again, these attempts to rewrite the story of Lagos in favor of a man who did nothing in the state for 8 whole years only go to reveal how devastated and reduced the minds of so many in Nigeria have become when it concerns the state of things. Repeating these same lies regarding Tinubu's will not change the fact that his record as a state governor was deplorable. undecided

Marwa did his beat I agree but Lagos needed a visionary leader who could harness the potential of the state for even more development......you can hate him all you want....tinubu has his imprint on all the major developments in the modern Lagos.....even having good successors who share and keep to your ideology is no easy fit and he has been able to achieve these.

2. Hate? Hate or like has nothing to do with stating the facts as they in fact are recorded. This is about collapsing an obvious misinformation. Tinubu's record in Lagos State of a Governor who accomplished absolutely nothing in all of the years he spent in the state. Fortunately, the governor before him had done a good enough job that Lagosians were able to survive until Fashola then showed up to continue from where Marwa stopped. undecided

Gosh!

Maybe you should have kept quiet.

According to Abraham Lincloln..."Better to be quiet and be thought a fool than to speak/write and make it absolutely clear, removing all doubts that you are an idiot"
All you have written below make my initial position about your knowledge of economics and current ongoings apt. For someone who thinks there is no more subsidy, your knowledge of macro economics is laughable. Only an idiot will not realise that it was unwise to devalue the currency in order to ward off rent seeking in an unproductive economy. If you keep devaluing, it makes the rent seeking more prominent...

Lithiumite:

Subsidy is being paid with which money.....do you know how much it would be costing this govt to maintain subsidy of that magnitude considering current high cost of Forex,NNPCL has repeatedly come out to say they are no longer doing under recovery as it was pre tinubu, you are here telling us what you don't have any idea of..... Nigeria for your information has an allocation for crude for local consumption which is only being refined outside and brought back which had been in existence even before subsidy was removed....go and learn more about the petroleum industry and understand how it works then you will know we should have no business paying subsidy in the first place.

No currency in the world is fully floated not even the dollar, the govt has to keep a keen high on its currency and make sure it remains as stable as possible, what happened before tinubu was that we were getting an artificial value for the naira and not the real value, what you have now is seemingly what a buyer is willing to buy and a seller willing to sell.....talking about subsidy,it was the dollar that was also being subsidised heavily to keep it at that rate it was before tinubu and he has also come out to say no more subsidy in that space that's why you have the xponential increase in rates.....the question is what are your state govs doing? Check every sector across all the states and show me any governor doing anything meaningful be it agric, education, health or social welfare, absolutely non except maybe Lagos.....they all still depend on faac and seat their lazy arses down doing nothing.

How have others managed it to not create a 200% inflation in the economy, reduce the economy from the largest in Africa ti the 4th position, with a further projection and continuing recession...?

Only a stupid leader will accept to be a can carrier of the failure of all others in the name of boldness.....he has succeeded in crippling and destroying his government by not being tactful. Nigeria can never recover from his blunders. Watch the economy deteriorate further soon.

Those his blunders will consume his government.

I never pushed any blame on anyone and only used that as an analogy that inflation has been on the increase year on year without the govt doing anything about it at the time and has now snowballed into the lacuna we have right now.....if you have a comprehension problem, hows that my business.....now who is the slowpoke

What has Fashola's opinion to do with what is on records? We all know how godfatherism occludes people's abilities to reason in Nigeria. So, why would Fashola's opinion matter where the actual records in the state are concerned? Those who lived in Lagos even before Democracy and Fashola showed up on the scene know what happened in Lagos. So why would a man's comment change any of that? undecided

Does Fashola equally have better information than the records of the State of Lagos itself on what transpired? Like I said, it doesn't matter what Fashola may think of his godfather as I expect for him to offer up a narrative favorable to those from whom he fed. What I do know is that the records in Lagos State are clear as far as whom it was that indeed impacted development in the state in terms of tangible progress, and it so happens that Tinubu was never one of those politicians in the records of the state. undecided

You can decide to pitch your tent wherever you like but you just illuminated my initial point that tinubu was the best of the 3 when you compare his legacies with that of Obi not to even mention atiku....they were both governors for 8 years and we know which ones legacy still exists and even 3 govs I believe are far more informed and better placed to lay facts bare after him still alludes to that fact.

On the national scale I believe it's a different kettle of fish and his performance has been quite discouraging but I did would like to cut him some slack as he has made some policies that looks good going forward..... heaping the entire gamut of our woes on tinubu to me is grossly a misrepresentation of facts and totally unfair.

Secondly, the fact that you used Japan, a productive economy with more exports than imports, a country regarded as the 3rd4th largest economy in the world as an example if why Nigwria devakustion is justified showed how shallow your knowledge of comparative economics is.
