Phyde:It's either she's lying or she didn't know the amount of data she subscribed for. mine use to last me for a month and I even download movies from 1GB upwards, stream and do everything with it, sometimes I don't even finish all in a month. |

Wow! Not bad! Which plan is that that give us 120gb/150gb for 16k? Share the code pls! Thanks. easzypeaszy: |
Re: My Experience Using A Smart TV by jmaine: 8:58am On Jun 26 |
TheSuperX: You quoted a guy using GLO network that is renowned for being very slow and frustrating, except in places where they are good. A times, you can subscribe for 1GB plan and won't finish due to their lethargic network. Now let me ask you a simple question. Did you bother to consider that the lady TV could be streaming above 1080P:60 FPS that is a data guzzler at a rate of 3GB per hour, if the TV has 4K quality we are talking in excess of 6GB/hour. If her said visitor watches TV (4K) in a 4 - 5-hour stretch, that's approximately a 24 -30GB data burn. The challenge I usually have with some of you is that you think your reality is always the law. No, it isn't. Always have an open mindset. . 5 Likes |

jmaine:What if in his area GLO network is very strong? where I stay GLO is strong too but I do prefer AIRTEL network instead, I do subscribe for 240GB and 280GB in a month and they last me even when I download, steam and do every other things and my TV is a 70" smart TV. |
Re: My Experience Using A Smart TV by pocohantas(f): 11:08am On Jun 26 |
jmaine: Thank you! TheSuperX: Apples and oranges. Loud and ignorant. We talking display and resolution __ he is talking size. Once again, loud and ignorant 5 Likes |
Re: My Experience Using A Smart TV by jmaine: 11:53am On Jun 26 |
TheSuperX: I recently engaged in a little experiment using MTN and GLO with very strong 4G+ LTE networks. I observed one common occurrence, MTN bandwidth was faster than Glo, and consumed approximately 50 - 60% more data than Glo. My inference was that MTN was codedly stealing from us, even though there may be a plausible reason due to the network superiority of MTN. Now back to main issue. The Koko is in the resolution or video quality of the stream and not how large your screen is. A Larger screen/monitor does not have anything to do with its resolution/playback capacity. If your TV is capable, try streaming a 4K content (if your network is great) and get back to us. 3 Likes |

CaptainFM1:Thanks and yes, it has 2 USB ports. Can I cast with it offline from my phone? |
Re: My Experience Using A Smart TV by TheSuperX(m): 1:55pm On Jun 26 |
jmaine:I'm not talking about the size of my TV alone but also the resolution, of course it's 4k enabled. And I do watch both movies and football match in 4k resolution but my data don't zap that much, see your data depends on how you use it, if you are the type that steam unnecessary things then it's impossible that you will have much data left, the pocohantas we are talking about, I doubt if she watched movies/shows in 4K. |
Re: My Experience Using A Smart TV by TheSuperX(m): 1:58pm On Jun 26 |
pocohantas:I doubt if you watched movies in 4k because you seem to me like someone that can't operate a smart TV, lol. |
Re: My Experience Using A Smart TV by pocohantas(f): 3:05pm On Jun 26 |
TheSuperX: You don't need to know how to operate one. It just needs to come with it. At least I know the difference between resolution and screen size. Open mouth waaa. Mr 70 inches Smart TV. TheSuperX: E done change mouth. Abeg go pick beans. 1 Like |

Re: My Experience Using A Smart TV by CaptainFM1: 4:30pm On Jun 26 |
TheSuperX: He is using smart TV instead of smart box. Yes smart TV can consume that much within days. I've advised him to get smart box and connect it to the TV instead. The problem here is that many people don't know the difference between smart TV and smart box. 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: My Experience Using A Smart TV by CaptainFM1: 4:49pm On Jun 26 |
TheSuperX: Stop deceiving yourself and stop faffing around with smart TV. There's nothing smart in it. It will continue to consume your data like vampires. If you want to enjoy IPTV, you must get a smart box. Connect the smart box to your smart TV via HDMI cable. Remove all your internet logins and connections on the smart TV and transfer them unto the smart box. You will find this arrangement swift and cost saving. Infact, I doubt if you will finish #20k worth of data in a month for ALL your internet need. Mine is a family of 5, and everyone connects to the wifi with their devices, 2 TV boxes connected as well and I use 20k Glo monthly even with downloads of movies and watching of live matches. You've been snoozing too much and spending a lot running IPTV on your smart TV. I know you're telling the truth because I've used the smartness that came with my TV before and I know how it ran down my data in a matter of days. But truth be told, "smart box" is the way to go and not "smart TV". Infact, the smart in "smart box" is smarter than that of "smart TV". I'm writing you this message using my smart box. I Facebook and Whatsapp with my smart box. Basically, anything you can do with your phone, you can do with your smart box. Attached is a picture of smart boxes in case you don't know what I'm talking about. 1 Share

CaptainFM1: Consider the fact that good smart box costs a lot of money. Those ones you posted above will lag a lot and you will not enjoy it. Based on my findings, smart box with smooth operations will cost at least 80k |
Re: My Experience Using A Smart TV by CaptainFM1: 5:31pm On Jun 26 |
johnshagb: It's because we are always late to every party as usual. Smart box and IPTV systems have been in operations for almost 15years now. I bought my Android box "X88 Pro 10" 8years ago for just 6k. Now, I think the version has reached "Pro 15"! The price has gone up because Nigerians are beginning to buy into the IPTV market. DSTV has shown people lots of shege. Smooth operation of the box is largely dependent on your smooth and steady internet and not the box in itself. |
Re: My Experience Using A Smart TV by jmaine: 5:45pm On Jun 26 |
TheSuperX: Nah! You are either blatantly lying or you don't know what you are talking about. You can as well claim that you surf the web without the internet. You definitely do not understand what 4K resolution is about. 1 Like |

CaptainFM1:I have been using IPTV for years now, I have the app installed and that's where I watch most movies, shows etc. |
Re: My Experience Using A Smart TV by TheSuperX(m): 6:42pm On Jun 26 |
jmaine:So you understand 4k resolution more than me? btw. why should I lie about what I'm using? what will I gain? 😏 |
Re: My Experience Using A Smart TV by TheSuperX(m): 6:44pm On Jun 26 |
johnshagb:All Smart Box works smoothly, you just need a very strong internet connection to run it seamlessly. |
Re: My Experience Using A Smart TV by TheSuperX(m): 6:46pm On Jun 26 |
CaptainFM1:You can use IPTV on your smart TV, you don't need Smart Box on it. |
Re: My Experience Using A Smart TV by TheSuperX(m): 6:49pm On Jun 26 |
pocohantas:I guess that's the only thing you know, I know you can't operate a smart TV, don't lie. at the bolded, I know the difference between screen resolution and size so the joke is on you. 😂 |
Re: My Experience Using A Smart TV by pocohantas(f): 6:51pm On Jun 26 |
TheSuperX: You know the difference and your response was "I have a 70 inches TV"? Shebi na you dey operate this one for me? Different people are here teaching you resolution and data consumption, you still dey argue. Soon you will indeed claim to stream 4k without internet. Which 4k are you streaming for 1 month with 2GB? pocohantas:Look at this village girl? where did I claim that I streamed 4k with 2GB? My problem with people like you is that you guys will never learn, just imagine someone that can't operate a smart TV telling me that I don't know the difference between screen size and resolution just because I said that I'm using a 70" smart TV, abi na wetin dey make you jealous? 😂😂 |
Re: My Experience Using A Smart TV by pocohantas(f): 7:19pm On Jun 26 |
TheSuperX: You don't know. Take your L and rest. j_maine: This was his post to you. TheSuperX: This was your response. E say na my TV is 70 inches... Go and pick beans. You don't stream on a 4k. Say the brand and model of your 70 inches 4k TV. Let me fact check how many GB it will use in an hour. Since you use 2GB for one month. |
Re: My Experience Using A Smart TV by pocohantas(f): 7:24pm On Jun 26 |
TheSuperX: This question should be directed at you. Wetin dey make you jealous? Captain__FM1: This is another response to you. You are the one to learn as you obviously know nothing on how resolution can affect data consumption. Mention that your TV model wey dey use 2GB stream 4k in a month. 4 Likes |
Re: My Experience Using A Smart TV by CaptainFM1: 7:30pm On Jun 26 |
TheSuperX: Where have you been? Argghhhhhh! We all fu****kn know your above statement is true. What we are saying is you will be paying data with your blood running "smart" directly on the TV. I've tried as many smart TV as you can think of, and I can tell you for a fact that it doesn't worth it especially if you are looking at getting the juicy stuffs from IPTV. LG operates with Webos, Hisense on Vidaa, and even the Hisense that operates Androids limits what you can do with the smartness of the TV. For example, I'm replying you right from my smart box. My whatsapp, facebook, tiktoks are all right on smart box. You don't get all those capability on smart TV. Let me keep it simple for you....Android smart box is exactly your android phone. So basically everything and anything you can do on your phone can be done via your smart box. Smart TV dont offer you that flexibility, plus smart TV suck your data like vampires. Trust me, I have two smart TV's at home, and I had to ignore the smartness in them and go for TV boxes. I have tried both worlds, TV boxes are the way to go. I've been using them for over 8years now. And if you just manage to configure Kodi, you will even be able to view channels from heavens....Just kidding, but truth is, With Kodi, that's the beginning and end of entertainment. You can never get kodi on your Smart TV. Only smart boxes and your mobile phones will give you that! What you never try, you never know. If you need repositories for Kodi, I can give you some amazing super repo. Where your Smart Tv will be scoring 2/10, smart boxes will be scoring 9/10.....and this is just based on pure usage and available functionalities. 1 Like |

pocohantas: I use Starlink and I highly recommend it. I ditched DStv for an online streaming option. Totally worth it. |
Re: My Experience Using A Smart TV by henryskywalker2003(m): 10:56pm On Jun 26 |
CaptainFM1: Hmmm... Some of your assertions are wrong. You can get Kodi running on an Android smart TV. Android TV doesn't guzzle data any more than the tv boxes. Speaking of TV boxes, some of them come preloaded with malware and backdoors. If you should get one, I'll recommend Amazon fire devices or Google Chromecast. 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: My Experience Using A Smart TV by CaptainFM1: 11:52pm On Jun 26 |
henryskywalker2003: Kodi is available at Android play-store, so yes it can be downloaded but installing the super repo on it on smart TV doesn't work. I've been using my smart boxes for over 8years now and I don't have any issues with them. I don't want those official boxes that you quoted specifically because they don't allow you to "flexibly cheat" especially with geolocation channels just like the smartness in the smart TV, which was why I always recommend smart boxes. As regard data consumption, my TV guzzle data like vampire. I can't use 100GB for a week on my smart TV, while the 100GB will last a month on my smart box. 2 Likes 1 Share |

CaptainFM1:It seems you know more about this thing, I might consider getting a smart box so that I can see the difference of what you are talking about, thank you for the information. Also you know you can use IPTV on laptop right? |
