It's because we are always late to every party as usual. Smart box and IPTV systems have been in operations for almost 15years now. I bought my Android box "X88 Pro 10" 8years ago for just 6k. Now, I think the version has reached "Pro 15"!

The price has gone up because Nigerians are beginning to buy into the IPTV market. DSTV has shown people lots of shege.

Smooth operation of the box is largely dependent on your smooth and steady internet and not the box in itself.

Kodi is available at Android play-store, so yes it can be downloaded but installing the super repo on it on smart TV doesn't work. I've been using my smart boxes for over 8years now and I don't have any issues with them. I don't want those official boxes that you quoted specifically because they don't allow you to "flexibly cheat" especially with geolocation channels just like the smartness in the smart TV, which was why I always recommend smart boxes.

As regard data consumption, my TV guzzle data like vampire. I can't use 100GB for a week on my smart TV, while the 100GB will last a month on my smart box.
