Kobojunkie: Though, you seem to want the best for the state but your priorities and that of those in government are different. Let them do what they feel is important and probably when your occupy same office (you will get there) you can fix the areas highlighted. Let the airport be upgraded, it's an embarrassment to the state 2 Likes |

Kobojunkie:There's no way that Airport can be viable in its current shape, there's therefore no questioning that the Airport needs urgent upgrade. It can only be self sustaining if the facilities eg the runway can safely support air operations. Currently Airpeace, Overland and Green Nigeria airlines flts into Ibadan mainly from Abuja. 80% of SW travels via Ibadan to board international flights in Lagos. Talking about the need for water, roads and other infrastructures, I absolutely agree there need, but so is the need for an upgrade of that airport. It's runway is horribly short. It's a disaster in waiting |

mrvitalis: You are not very smart. A pdp governor applied to upgrade his state airport. The upgrade will be financed by his state budget. If pbat had rejected this you would be here shouting oppression and intimidation. The federal govt cannot advise state governments on how they plan to waste their money. This is Seyi makinde, who should know better, but obviously plans on cashing out. Try to connect your brain to your fingers before you cast blame. 2 Likes |

Kobojunkie:lol. I put it to you , where is the bad road around Ibadan airport? lol maybe you’re talking about years ago o.. Most major roads in Ibadan now have been worked on by this current administration, infact you only get to see bad road in the hinterlands … Seyi makinde has managed to convince me that government can be corrupt and good at the same time.. For that ‘road’ thing , bro you goofed 5 Likes |

mrvitalis:Imagine building another airport that will be less than 150 km from Lagos airport that is even under utilised. Would a fast train from the airport linking the rail line along the Oshodi axis straight to Ibadan not be a more sensible option? Maybe we should be building an international airport every 150km. 2 Likes |

mrvitalis: Do you know how many people who come from Kwara , Ekiti, Ondo Osun, Oyo to Lagos before travelling abroad....this will be a succour to them ....it might not be applicable to you but why cant you allow people who suffer this long distance to Lagos before travelling abroad enjoys this benefits.... We have port Harcourt airport, Sam Mbawe, Biam Akanu, Margret Ekpo and many more in the east and south south , and aside Ahmadu Bello , Nnmadi Azikwe , Kaduna international airport and many more in the north Aside murittala iMuhammed International airport in the west ....mention one international airport you know in Yoruba land ...yet we are educated , industrious and well travelled .... This is a well thought off project that will put smile to the faces of most travellers in the region and Ibandan is always the middles and meeting point for all Yoruba race ....since the ancient days .... I'm sure this is reason some of these our poto poto brother wants Tinubu out of the office so that the development can continue in their region while other regions will be left in struggle.... I will advice the Tinubu government to do the work with speed .... 3 Likes |

bmaster2000: You fail to address Mrvitalis concerns of the number of passengers that is expected to us the proposed international airport. How many passengers use even the lagos international airport yearly? How many Nigerians travel out and how many Nigerians come into Nigerians through the airports? Airports should not be a pride contest but a commercial venture. Airports are very expensive to build (particularly in this part of the world) and maintain. All our airports presently are poorly maintained, with no power, poor baggage handling, bad runways and faulty and archaic air traffic equipment, and you want to add more. Are any of our airports operating at a profit, aside the Lagos Local airport? How do you intend to repay the loan that will be uses to build the airport? |

Re: Tinubu Has Approved Upgrade Of Ibadan Airport To International Status – Makinde by seunayantokun(m): 7:22am On Jun 27 |
I'm just too sure lots of people from the south west would like to connect a flight from Ibadan rather than face the congestion of Lagos. What that means is improved economy in that region. There are many possibilities for that airport without affecting Ikeja and the one being developed at the Lekki and Ajah (trade zone) axis. All efforts should be made to ensure that standards are not compromised. This is indeed good good news. 2 Likes |

Ibadan has no need for an airport. With close proximity to Lagos and functional railways, there is absolutely no need. |
