If goods for export were to be available, it means production was present, means there will be disposable income that drives consumption in form of passenger traffic. These places are simply dead economically.

To grow Nigeria, we must rethink the idea of monthly sharing crude oil and VAT proceeds. Recalibrate the education system, introduce a working vocational education and formal apprenticeship system, completely reform and prune the civil service, effectively propagate the growth of SME's, institute effective taxation and social welfare, etc.

While way back in the early 80s, indigenes of imo state were regularly contributing money to build the Sam Mbakwe Airport, even though we are based in Lagos my parents were regularly sending their own share to add to those our umunna in the village were also contributing, igbos who were not from Imo state also supported the project ....self-help no start today!😂😂😂

Airports are built as amenities ie when the need arises.. it was shallow thinking like this that made gowon spend more of our money paying teachers salaries in other countries when he hadn't built nigeria into a Dubai during the oil boom years after the Civil war. Well at the time we didn't need all those massive road projects and amenities. .............right? . Afterall how many cars were driving in nigeria.. the fact this line of thought came from a young person, shows no hope for the Blackman.
