This question should be directed at you. Wetin dey make you jealous?

This is another response to you. You are the one to learn as you obviously know nothing on how resolution can affect data consumption.

Mention that your TV model wey dey use 2GB stream 4k in a month. grin
You are irredeemable, village girl. ๐Ÿ˜‚

It seems you know more about this thing, I might consider getting a smart box so that I can see the difference of what you are talking about, thank you for the information.

Also you know you can use IPTV on laptop right?

Basically, IPTV means watching TV via the Internet.

IPTV (Internet Protocol television). Youtube that we all watch on laptops is already an example of IPTV provider.
That said, you can also sideload Android Apps on Laptops using Bluestack and other software mirroring Apps.

Some gaming consoles double as Smart TV boxes as well. e.g Nvidia Shields.

Yeah I do know about Bluestack, I have been using it for years now to run some Android apps on it.

That is not the subject.
Post the model of your 70 inches smart TV that streams 4k with 2GB.

Of course he does. That is why you can clearly see him say it is possible to exhaust 120GB. While you are here saying it is a lie. You don't have any 4k TV. Sit it out next time. grin grin

in addition to using data for streaming video , smart tvs and other smart devices are all snooping on their users and uploading 100s of gbs of data to servers to be sold to Big Data. because most smart tvs used proprietary closed OSes regular users cannot make apps that will run on the devices to measure or block unapproved data uploads

Where have you been? Argghhhhhh!

We all fu****kn know your above statement is true. What we are saying is you will be paying data with your blood running "smart" directly on the TV. I've tried as many smart TV as you can think of, and I can tell you for a fact that it doesn't worth it especially if you are looking at getting the juicy stuffs from IPTV.

LG operates with Webos, Hisense on Vidaa, and even the Hisense that operates Androids limits what you can do with the smartness of the TV. For example, I'm replying you right from my smart box. My whatsapp, facebook, tiktoks are all right on smart box. You don't get all those capability on smart TV.

Let me keep it simple for you....Android smart box is exactly your android phone. So basically everything and anything you can do on your phone can be done via your smart box. Smart TV dont offer you that flexibility, plus smart TV suck your data like vampires. Trust me, I have two smart TV's at home, and I had to ignore the smartness in them and go for TV boxes. I have tried both worlds, TV boxes are the way to go.

I've been using them for over 8years now. And if you just manage to configure Kodi, you will even be able to view channels from heavens....Just kidding, but truth is, With Kodi, that's the beginning and end of entertainment. You can never get kodi on your Smart TV. Only smart boxes and your mobile phones will give you that!

What you never try, you never know. If you need repositories for Kodi, I can give you some amazing super repo. Where your Smart Tv will be scoring 2/10, smart boxes will be scoring 9/10.....and this is just based on pure usage and available functionalities.

KODI is truly the beginning and the end of entertainment if you know your way around the setup and addons. Which free and fast VPN can you recommend for Kodi. Most of the VPN i have been using slow my network speed resulting to buffering sometimes and work well without using VPN.
Thanks

You wouldn't need casting since the box will be connected to the TV via HDMI. And yes, you will be able to watch media you already saved on your box or media from your pen/external drive without Internet.

Which super repo do you use that works well? Though I'm new to Kodi I was not able to install Super repo but I installed The Crew Repo. Not all add-ons work.

So na wetin I talk pain you? Pele. ๐Ÿ˜‚

You know what just install IPTV on your TV, that's if you can and subscribe to the monthly subscription, you can watch all DSTV channels with thousands of channels available, both foreign and local with just 2k plus per month, the channels on IPTV dosen't consume much data, 120GB will last you atleast for a month. Cheers.

Can 1TB last one for a year?

I am considering subscribing Mtn 1TB data plan for 100k.I think in the long run it saves money.

Yeap. It saves a lot of money. I have two routers, 1 at home and 1 in the car plus data I use on my phone, all Sims are using same 1TB data. This is my 9th month using it n I still have more than 200GIGs

Oh, I see where the issue is for you. You are using LG Smart TV! Foremost, that will scoop your data like vampires and will also limit what you can do with your screen. Get Android Smart Box and connect it to the TV instead. Remove all wifi logins and connections on you LG TV and transfer them unto the smart box. Now, the smart box is exactly your phone! Right now, I'm writing this message right on my TV screen using the smart box. I reply my whatsapp messages via smart box, I have my facebook on my smart box etc...Virtually anything you can do on your phone can be done on your smart box. In other words, the smart box now works like a desktop CPU while the TV act as the screen. All you need to add for comfort and convenience is a wireless keyboard.

in the past i was using a box (T95) but wasnt giving me as much and too many remote (box/Tv etc), while smartIPTV gives me as much as i need with no box and only using TV remote.... what exactly are you saying that i am lacking? i dont understand.

bro i dont live in Nigeria...i have unlimited optical 500GB speed (upload and download), and since my TV is connected directly in the internet modem (not Wifi) i have never lacked and it never buffers (even if 4 different devices are heavily using the internet...Youtube/Netflix, video call or heavy gaming). i really dont need to have my whatsapp/FB on my tv as i really dont want such apps out there like that. lol!

Calm down with your special unique peculiarity. I've lived better parts of my life overseas too. You already know the situation of Nigeria when it comes to affordable data and good speed internet.

What we are trying to manage here is the economic reality in Nigeria vis-a-vis watching premium TV via the Internet.

Running your data via your TV directly isn't an issue for you, neither is it an issue for me because you and I aren't in the class of majority of Nigerians.

Is it my neighbor that came to beg garri early this morning that will have Smart TV? Let alone running data directly on it. But with his ordinary old Cathode tube box TV, he can buy a small smart box and connect and be managing about 20Gb a month to watch better channels because DSTV is not even affordable for the common man anymore in Nigeria.

I hope this clarifies.
