Hello everyone. Not to drag anybody back, but I am new to the investing world and would really love to learn the ropes.

I am curious about how to identifyy underestimated stocks. I use cash app and Trove for stock investing and I have only bought one stock so far. Any pointers I would really appreciate it.

Hi all. Pls endeavor to drop your picks, especially dividend paying stocks. This will help me and others like me to streamline the companies we ought to watch out for. It will also make it easier for us to do our DD. Sometimes when i go to yahoo finance and investing to read about US and UK market, i just feel overwhelmed and i just leave and come back here as this is my comfort forum for stock opinions , news etc. I would like to start my journey in this stock market in the next 2-3years and I'm trying to learn and watch out for trend in this stock market. Thank you all for the contributions so far.

The ASIAN season is giving indication of a likely market reversal for stock today. If for ant reason, the marker ends bearish today, then we should know, there is something unusual going on, big money want to play some tricks to get some stocks at lower prices. NVDA was a profitable stock for short sellers yesterday. At one point, my holdings were down $780 when the stock hit $115 in pre-market trading. However, I'm now up $800+ post-market. During the peak of the market volatility, I remained calm because my goal is long-term investing. I followed Investment Rule No. 1: Buy low, sell high, which means never losing money in the market.
Rule no2 is always remember, Rule No. 1 is key to a successful investing.

LOOKING AT WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE NIGERIA!!! I AM A LITTLE BIT SCARED OF THE NIGERIA STOCK MARKET
With likes of Guinness, Nigeria Breweries likely to stop paying dividends if the constraints preventing businesses from operating efficiently is not resolved soon. I wonder what the people who were formerly receiving dividends from such entities will do?

This is one of the reasons I prefer the Global stocks. Buying a dividend king removes worry about company's ability to pay dividends. Fast forwarding this, this should be a sound warning for us to forget that you can't buy a stock in Nigeria and sleep with both eyes closed. These are likely to be one of the reasons MSCI exited Nigeria (the fund was more of a dividend fund) and what is happening now showed that their judgment was faultless?


Point to ponder on. For me any Nigeria stock to be bought must be one of the big caps and must have foreign connection or still have some backings from the Government (like FBN). I may be afraid to buy a stock like Dangote or any other one with an individual as the key figure. What happens if these key figures have problem with the goverent of the day or when the founders are gone (for this fear one may exclude GTCO to some extent, at least so far so good, it seems to have cross this rubicon). So conclusion, we should not put all our future investments in stocks especially companies owned by single individuals (better have it behind our mind that investment like real estate, may be more reliable in the the long term, find a cheap land somewhere that you can keep for the the future and build something on, our parents seems to know better about this)
