The main reason people are running away from Orlu statel is Hope Uzodinma.

What he did was Nso-ala. Abomination!

The blood of Orlu youth over his political ambition.

I dont support Orlu state, dont want to see Anambra blood tomorrow wasted by Orlu people.

all Orlu politicians are terrible

Apart from road dualizition of Ekwulobia which started in awka, nise then agulu before nnaka and co, there’s nothing going on in that axis. Mind you that another dualization will happen from Nkwo agulu down to nnewi with a flyover at Nnobi, the people that will benefit most is agulu people

Peter Obi tarred all roads in agulu
Chris Ngige tarred all roads in Alor/Nnobi, I’m from Nnobi I can tell you that
Obiano did same thing at aguleri

Soludo is the only governor that spread his infrastructural developments across all Anambra towns, give the dude his flowers

No part of Anambra state will join any nonsense orlu village/town

The only state Igbos are clamoring for is either anioma which is achievable or adada state, if orlu cannot developed under imo it cannot also develop with some Anambra towns joining them because Anambra towns will always bring their supremacy over them

The only people that will develop orlu are orlu people, first tackle insecurity in your midst, most of your people are living in far away Nnobi my hometown and refuse to go back

Anambra isn’t the reasons orlu isn’t developed
I owe you a bottle of beer

A socio-cultural organisation, Ogbako Ohaji People’s Forum in Imo State has rejected the inclusion of Ohaji in the proposed Orlu State, citing cultural, social, and geographical differences with the Orlu people.A bill for the creation of Orlu State is being considered by the National Assembly. In a letter addressed to the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon.Tajudeen Abbas, the Ohaji district of the Ohaji/Egbema LGA stated that their inclusion in the proposed state was a result of political conquest and selfishness, and not a decision made by the people. The forum highlighted their proximity to Owerri, the capital of Imo State, and their historical and cultural ties to the capital city. They also noted that their inclusion in Orlu State would lead to further marginalisation and deprivation. In the letter signed by various leaders of the forum which included High Chief Fidelis Enyia, Dr. Theodore Amunwa, Isinwa Destiny, and Nwosu Nicholas Tochi, the Ohaji people demanded to remain part of Imo State, where they say they rightfully belong. The statement read, “The above organisation being the apex social cultural body speaking for the good people of Ohaji district in conjunction with other major stakeholders wholly and entirely support and commend the bill for the creation of Orlu State.“For so long the people of South-east have not left anyone in doubt that an additional State needed to be carved out for the geo-political zone. This move therefore will not only correct the imbalance but goes a long way to assuage, placate and give them a sense of belonging.“However, Ohaji district in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State with a population of 177,940, made up of 20 Autonomous Communities vehemently detest and reject the move to include us (Ohaji) in the proposed bill for Orlu State. Ohaji district’s inclusion in Orlu Senatorial Zone ab-initio was more of political conquest and selfishness of few leaders who acquiesced to it then, hence an aberration whose time has come for correction.

Soludo Has Shattered Records And Made History As Anambra Takes Number One Spot In Nigeria’s Fiscal Transparency

With Soludo’s exceptional track record, expertise, and unwavering commitment to fiscal transparency and accountability, it comes as no surprise that Anambra State has achieved the remarkable feat of being ranked number one in fiscal transparency in 2024.

These significant recognitions showcase the administration’s dedication to transparent budgeting, accessible e-procurement portals, fiscal reporting, and the integrity of the state’s website. This reaffirms Soludo’s stature as a paragon of good governance, financial prudence, and fiscal integrity.

Ndi Anambra has also witnessed the administration’s impactful efforts in prudent public resource management. For instance, government offices in Anambra were spending N137 million each month on cleaning public offices until Soludo assumed office and promptly slashed the cost to a mere N11 million per month.

Anambra currently boasts the fewest political appointees across the country, and there is no official convoy for the governor’s wife. It is imperative to align with the standards of the people we govern, ensure accountability, and eliminate unnecessary expenditures and inefficiencies.

Why do Orlu politicians love to commit fraud? They haven't even created the state yet, and they're already forging people's signatures without giving them any benefits! Just imagine what they will do when they get the state and take over all the communities they want!

That's what everyone is asking but I am not surprise... That's how they messed Imo up, and landed the state where it is today. Yet they kept crying that Owerri zone is marginalizing them with little or no government presence in Orlu. Imagine; Even when their kinsmen hv been ruling the state from administration to administration.

Maybe they thought they were dealing with people who does not know their onions... But they are now beginning to understand that Anambra is not Imo.

Soludo's cost cutting initiative is commendable but, I feel we need to have these cost cutting initiatives enshrined in the laws of Anambra state. The fact that Soludo brought down the cost of public office cleaning to 11 million does not mean his successor can't raise it back to over 100 million.
The government should speak to the house of assembly for limits to added and backed by law to ensure successive governments don't ruin this good initiative. It is similar to what happened in Abia in regards to life pensions for previous administrations. Otti refused to pay pensions to the previous governors when he assumed office. He then proceeded to ensure that the law was passed banning all previous governors from getting life pensions. Now compare that to Peter Obi and Anambra. Peter Obi rejected all the pensions and gifts he was given after he left office which was commendable but the governors after him will still get life pensions because there's no law preventing life pensions for previous governors of Anambra. So it will be nice if Soludo can compel the state assembly to pass laws to ensure that all governors of Anambra cannot exceed a particular threshold. He can tie the spending amount to inflation or any other thing, he is an economist so I expect him to know how to do that.

In 1976 when Imo state was created, there's much differences in the level of urban development between Orlu and Owerri (Owerri was capital of old Imo state).
It matters where who governs Imo state is from, Orlu has already been given a chance to
change the bad narrative of Imo state.

Unfortunately, Nigerian governments don't make a city viable, they only provide some basic amenities for us to strive on...I believe the present governor has provided the necessary actions needed to support Orlu city.
You can stand firmly to make your city great and viable regardless of the region that's more developed, you've to start that by loving yourselves.
Orlu state economy maybe worser than Imo state if the state is finally created.
Apart from Nnewi and Abuja, the most prosperous cities in Nigeria are the ones that were being planned by the British, this is a hard pill to swallow.
Don't trust these Nigerian politicians, they're so incompetent and greedy, avoid Orlu state like a plaque.

Bolded on the bad narratives of Imo state. It is most important you understood that.
The worst of the bad narratives of Imo state is about Imo becoming a state with only one modern city - Owerri - with only Owerri zone developing into one modern city, because all federal and state institutions and parastatals that are supposed to be spread all over the state to induce human and economic development to all over Imo state, were grabbed by Oru-Owerri people hiding under Owerri is state capital, and located all only in Owerri senatorial district during the military era.

First of all, you need to understand the roadmap development of Imo state very well before making a blind assertion!
Even the Owerri city is not livable and viable for human habitants unlike other cities like Port-Harcourt, Kaduna, Lagos & Onitsha.
I guess, your argument is based on the population of students in Owerri zone that bring more capital to Owerri city unlike Orlu...but even the students always run out from Owerri to their various based during holidays in order for them to feel a serenity of livable and viable city.
Therefore, every development in Imo state must be situated in Owerri city/zone otherwise it will be deteriorated, this is how it meant to be, you need to understand the roadmap development of Imo state otherwise we will just be making a pointless argument on the Internet.

I based my assertion on the roadmap development of Imo State which is centered to Owerri zone. Owerri zone is not greedy, blame the people who made the roadmap instead.

Look, there's already a roadmap development of Imo state, every state in Nigeria has it's roadmap development. It's not about handling the gubernatorial seats, or being a state capital.
That's why the economy of Awka will never surpass that of Onitsha or Nnewi city.
I recently discussed with some good business oriented brothers from Awka about setting up an industry in Awka, they all complained about how the industrial activities in Awka is not viable compared to other big cities in Anambra state, this is simply a handiwork of roadmap development of a state.
There's no city in the United States that will host more multi millionaires than New York City.

The development road map of Imo state meant for development of your Owerri zone alone and drawn in your mum's kitchen? There was NEVER such a plan jointly drawn up by people from Orlu and Okigwe senatorial districts to exclude Orlu and Okigwe zones from government development infrastructures to Imo state. Buffoon.

Nobody with good senses will draw a development plan for a state for development of only the zone of the state capital.
You continue to expose the primitive greed inherent in your Owerri zone which made Oru-Owerri hide under the mantra of "Owerri is state capital naa" to locate in Owerri area every single federal and state tertiary education institution, ministry, parastatal and all federal housing estates to Imo state. Even recently, a Federal university teaching hospital for Imo state is being dragged to Owerri also.
Since Owerri knows it has no cultural, no traditional, and no linguistic ties to Orlu and Okigwe areas, hence Owerri wants every govt thing to Imo state be located in Owerri area, why would Owerri campaign against the proposed Orlu state ?

In Orlu state, all federal and state establishments that induce modern develooment where located, shall be distributed to all the nooks and crannies of Orlu state, not like in Imo state where Owerri zone would not and will NEVER allow anything good from government to be outside Owerri zone.

Owerri zone has developed into two to three different cities due to concentration of all govt establishments in Imo state for only Owerri zone.
Hear irisher from Owerri above telling us that modern development in Imo state was planned by the state for only Owerri senatorial district; this has been the primitive instinct of Owerri over Imo state since the state was created.

"You keep repeating the same thing and playing dumb to not understand my points".

The roadmap development of Imo state started during British colonialism for Eastern region, Nigeria, which passes down to the present Imo state. The roadmap was not publicly and jointly drawn up by people from Orlu and Okigwe senatorial districts, rather it was done by the past ruling power which were not even from any of these zones you mentioned nor even native of Nigeria.
There's no city in Lagos state that's more developed and viable than Lagos Island.
Lagos Island was strategically planned to be the economic powerhouse of Lagos state and Western region the same way Onitsha was planned to be the economic powerhouse of Anambra state and Eastern region.

The same people that made Hausa Fulani to become the ruling class in Nigeria thereby making other regions to cry over marginalisation. Now, ask yourself if this ruling class are more educated, more intelligent, more rich and industrious than the Igbo people.
All these were planned by the colonial masters, it's not by the opinion of any of the indigenes of the States, thus, the opinion of an earthworm doesn't concern a python.
You can't cry over the scars is permanent.
Orlu state is a dead on arrival...it will never work.
