Gov Soludo making history

Since the creation of Anambra State from the old Anambra which had Enugu as its capital, Awka has struggled to attain the status of a befitting capital city. At creation, in August 1991, Awka was virtually left with nothing as most of the public institutions – i.e. university, airport, prisons, etc. – had to remain in Enugu, the capital of the old Anambra State and now the capital of Enugu State.

The journey to build Awka has not been easy. Past leaders in the state right from the first military administrator, Commodore Joseph Abulu, and the first civilian governor, Chukwuemeka Ezeife, all did their best. But it is not easy to build a capital city from the scratch.

Take the new Government House and Lodge Complex for example, which is currently being built by Governor Soludo in the Ekwueme Square axis of Awka. The site of this New Government House and Lodge Complex was almost washed away by gully erosion and had been almost taken over by hoodlums and land grabbers. Today, Governor Soludo is building a befitting Government House and Lodge for Anambra. This new complex would be the greenest and most environmentally friendly government house in Nigeria. (Currently, the existing Government House is on a makeshift site that was used during the construction of the Enugu -Onitsha Expressway in the 70s and the current Government Lodge is in another town –miles away – from the current Government House, Gov Soludo is making history.

SE has the largest gas deposit in Nigeria yet not enough intra pipeline networks to power itself. Most of the pipelines are funnel to Lagos and other regions. Even Oyo state is already diverting the east west gas line to industrialize itself.

That govt house was started in 1992 by the then military governor who was redployed the following year when Abacha became head of state.

Anambrans know the structures already erected were not erected by Soludo.

Soludo is not doing anything, Anambrans on ground can attest to that.

Soludo is more interested in eye-service and propaganda than to actually build infrastructure. Most of the projects he starts for eye-service are quietly abandoned weeks later.

But most of south-east govs are alike: build befitting state capital - other towns of their state deteriorate.
In the state capital, they build flyovers, tunnels and bridges where no hills or rivers exist, new Govt House; stadium, malls, parks and gardens, churches, etc.
Only them know what befitting state capital will look like.
Our neighbour state has been building state capital since East Central State was split into two states.
Otti and Soludo are changing the narratives.

Gov Soludo has built five hospitals, schools, 450 km of roads across the state, constructing flyovers, Solution Innovation district, industrial parks , Fun city, mall, reviving all the water schemes in the state and so many others, It's not a crime building befitting government house for the state, he is doing all this without borrowing, remember Soludo employed 7800 teachers, 2500 health workers, he is doing great

With the high rate of baby factories in the east, Soludo should have built Oloshos Rehabilitation Centers & unclaimed children Homes to carter for these abused girls & innocent kids.
