When fg started borrowing from pension funds I knew the end is about to come . They have borrowed Nigeria into misery and now tampering with the lives of retirees sending them to early graves while they continue to budget billions for SUVs and private jets .very evil. Buhari and Tinubu didn't mean well for Nigeria 24 Likes 1 Share |

A police officer was paid 800k as gratuity and 18k as monthly pension . A retired inspector for that matter. 800k can not buy 8 bags of raw rice. Can u imagine the wickedness of PENCOM?? Someone that serve the country for 35 years with his life at stake. Some are collecting 1.2million some 1.5 million. With 25k as monthly pension. God forbids I do Federal government work after all my dad pass through as a retired police officer. At least I do far better than most of them at this age 11 Likes 3 Shares |

“If we remove petrol subsidy, we’ll save more money and Channel to other avenues”. Our President wan buy plane of $100M while owing pensioners for 16 months. You pay pensioners peanuts that you lots barely use in flexing your girlfriends and still owe them those peanuts. As a young person finishing from University or any tertiary institution, I’ll advise you not to go into civil service both in federal and state levels if you have options to work in private firms (banks eg). If you see what most pensioners take home as gratuity and pension after 35 years in service you may end up regretting your actions. 8 Likes 1 Share |

Nigerian Central Bank-Owned NIRSAL Contract Workers Protest Unfair Treatment Multiple sources told SaharaReporters that contract staffers at NIRSAL's field offices in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have deep-seated grievances. The Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL Plc.), established by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), was envisioned as a catalyst for agricultural development through effective management of agribusiness credit risks. However, behind its noble mandate lies a troubling story of alleged maltreatment and exploitation, particularly of contract workers, who are part of the backbone of its operations. Multiple sources told SaharaReporters that contract staffers at NIRSAL's field offices in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have deep-seated grievances. Despite being instrumental in executing the organisation's grassroots initiatives and engaging directly with farmers, these staff members are subjected to grossly unfair compensation and lack essential benefits. Below Par Compensation According to sources within NIRSAL, contract staffers are paid significantly less than their core staff counterparts at the headquarters in Abuja. This pay discrepancy has been a longstanding issue, dating back to when operations were managed by consultants. Despite the direct takeover by NIRSAL's head office, expectations of fairer compensation were dashed as the pay remained inadequate. An aggrieved staff member expressed said, "It's actually maltreatment because we, the contract staff, handle all the activities right from onboarding farmers to other operational tasks, yet our payment is just below 40% of what we're supposed to receive. The disparity in pay is compounded by the absence of benefits and allowances for contract staff. Unlike their counterparts, contract staff receive no health insurance or transportation allowances, making them entirely dependent on their inadequate monthly salaries. "There is no provision for health insurance or any other insurance or allowances. Everything in our lives depends on our monthly salary. This is why we feel we have been financially maltreated," the source continued. Field operations require significant travel, yet there is no support for transportation costs. Contract staff bear the burden of travel expenses, even when they have to cover long distances for field activities. This further exacerbates their financial strain, making their role increasingly unsustainable. The maltreatment of contract staff is not a new phenomenon. The dissatisfaction began when operations were managed by consultants, who were eventually dismissed for their unfair practices. Despite hopes that direct management by NIRSAL would bring positive changes, contract staff continue to face the same financial and moral injustices. The contract staff at NIRSAL are now calling for justice and fair treatment. They argue that as Nigerians contributing significantly to the organisation's success, they deserve equitable pay and benefits. We were initially employed with training promises; however, we realised it was a scam when we began sponsoring ourselves for training. "Some of us took exams and had interviews with NIRSAL, but they segregated us, promising absorption in six months. It has been seven years,” said a source. " The system has failed us.” Source: https://saharareporters.com/2024/06/23/nigerian-central-bank-owned-nirsal-contract-workers-protest-unfair-treatment-demand#google_vignette 1 Like |

My comment doesn’t correlate with this topic but Merging different tribes together as one was one big mistake… Nigeria should just disintegrate!! Meanwhile, If you have a business either online or offline that you want to venture into but you do not have money or capital to kickstart yet, I have a guide that would show you how to source for money without having to borrow or break a bank…. I post valuable contents via the thread in my profile aswell… It might help you up your games financially.. |

NOTE THAT THE PENSION WAS DEDUCTED FROM THE MONTHLY SALARIES OF THESE RETIREES WHILE THEY WERE IN ACTIVE SERVICE. IT IS THEIR MONEY!!! This evil cannot go unanswered. How can you keep old and sick elders queueing in the sun for hours just to do some sort of verification after 35 years of service! And then the 10k, 15k, 20k you'll "pay them" as pension is getting hooked! You take their legally-owned monies and don't pay them! This is evil!!! 3 Likes |
