HeatSeeker:

The family of the late former Chief Executive of e-commerce giant, Konga, Nick Imudia has debunked reports that the Group CEO of D.light International committed suicide.

It said that investigations were still ongoing on the cause of his death as suicide had been ruled out.

Refuting news reports that Imudia had called his brother and daughter with instructions before his death, the family, in a statement signed by Dr. Anthony N. Imudia, said reportage of the news of the one-time Konga CEO’s death whilst the family was in the hospital trying to resuscitate him was suspicious.

They said: “The family of Nick Imudia is unhappy with the unprofessional manner the media has wrongly characterised the reporting of Nick Imudia’s death as suicide. This is also supported by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police’s office that has vowed to investigate the sudden death of Nick. Neither did Nick call his brother in America with instructions on how to distribute his wealth, nor placed a call to his daughter with any instructions.

“How come the news was reported so hastilly (less than 3 hours from his death) before his family members even knew about it – and the medical team was still trying to resuscitate him at the hospital! The Imudia family wonders!”

Stating that the former Konga CEO comes from a close-knit family where support abounds, the family added, “Nick never showed any sign of stress and he was not diagnosed as depressed at any point. The thought of suicide in the manner portrayed and hastily reported by the news media is suspect.

“Nick Imudia, until his death was the Group CEO of D.light International with Headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, where he was residing. He managed the company’s worldwide operations from Nairobi. Nick was full of life and people that worked closely with him or met him in the last hours prior to the incident surrounding his death were shocked with the media attributing his death to ‘suicide’.

“He was on a short visit to Lagos after a brief trip to the Netherlands and was to return to Nairobi a day after his sudden death. Nick made his initial career mark with Nokia, the Finnish based Telecommunication Company before he was transferred from Helsinki to manage Nokia Asia operations in Singapore.

“Later in his career with Nokia, he was appointed as the Managing Director of Nokia – West and Central Africa. When Microsoft bought Nokia, he opted to leave the company. Looking for a new challenge, he became the CEO of Konga Nigeria where he reengineered the company’s operation.

“At his prime age and the level of his achievements, people who knew Nick well are all shocked and do not accept the characterization of his death as suicide. Members of Nick’s family do request the media and the general public to allow them to grief their loved one without any unfounded rumour of the circumstances surrounding his death.”

It wasn't suicide, then tell us why they were trying to revive him in the hospital?

Same here, even the realization that he doesn't even stay in Nigeria and just came in from another foreign trip to a place that's supposed to be home. Omoh. Home has always been projected to be our safe place? Seems it's not so anymore

So what was he being treated for or resuscitated from at the hospital?

tell Nigerians so that people will know the truth.

You keep debunking the suicide story but failed to let us know why he landed in Hospital

Useless family. Like they checked up on him when he was going through whatever he went through. A lonely man who took time to write messages to everyone who mattered to him is the one they're claiming he didn't commit suicide. Were you there for him?

Some tribes, some cultures attach a huge stigma to death by suicide. That could be the case here.

A possible homicide has absolutely nothing to do with elections why do we politicise everything?

We behave like we are obsessed with political agendas and sentiments.

it shouldn't be that way. it is toxic but I understand even those in power and those supporting them are toxic but we must remain sane with our ideology.

Re: Ex-konga CEO, Imudia Did Not Commit Suicide — Family by Vulcan24(m): 11:31pm On Jul 01
I first saw this news and was baffled at the conclusion and expert narration from top to bottom! Even if it's a suicide he died intestate so there should be a coroner's inquest for such a high profile young man! Jumping off balcony is not a common suicide attempt for men as it is too dramatic and visionary! Drinking a poison is I'm usually a man's way or a sudden quick and blind death!

Mark my words that guy was bundled and thrown overboard ! If he survived the crash and was still hospitalized !
Killing a man by throwing him overboard is 20/80 ! Killing before throwing is expert finishing!

Even if it's insurance, he had been alleged to gave shared verbally his estate which evidently negates death by suicide non pay off!
However who expanded the story to the press of the exact circumstances if not people who murder him and paid for the cover up!

You are aware there are many families whose members voted different candidates?
When the choice of your candidate (or ethnic sentiment) takes away your humanity, you should visit a rehab!
May Peter Obi never happen to our political landscape again! Shame on you and supporters!

It's a shame no one called out this guy for who he is. This is a full fledged APC using psych to win support for tinubu.

Read through the write up slowly, you will see the game he played and unfortunately it worked for him.

I voted Obi and will vote him again and again against any politician in Nigeria. However, no sane person goes this low just because of politics that all of us will leave one day.

I am really disappointed with the id××t that spilled this trash.

When I read so many deaths discarded as either suicide, accidental or natural, I think of the series Monk. Although a hilarious comedy, it makes a lot of sense in making one to ponder that so many deaths reported as either suicide, accidental or natural might actually be murder.
