In Canada, their own NAFDAC goes to buy products from the store and tests it for quality on a monthly bases. Here, they only raid distributors only when they got tips from people or because cholera in Lagos has being attributed to illegal drink.

It's not that bad since an arrest is made but i won't be surprised if they let go of the people to continue the sale of the bad product after they pay bribe.

Our NAFDAC is famous at selling their registration number to anybody without proper and continued evaluation of their products on a monthly basis.
Honestly that's why I dey laugh and pity people relying on nafdac numbers, Getting original product or Consumables is beyond just nafdac numbers. Na why our grandpa and grandma dey live longer in villages, their foods are straight from the farm including drugs which is herbs inside the farm.

Was in Enugu for a period to carry out some work. In appreciation I went to a shop one evening and asked for a bottle of Pink Lady to offer my hosts as I was to leave the following day.
Getting to the house I decided to make sure the case looked clean. You can imagine my horror when the graphics on the package looked odd, on second look I noticed there was a "C" between the N and K!!
Quick, I opened the bottle no hiss, I tasted it, kaaiii, it was something else!
To save myself, I discretely did away with the bottle and offered cash to my hosts and left the next day...
Imagine the embarrassment if they had opened and drank out of that when I had left! Probably might think I was out to poison them!!

They should further raid the drug section of ogbete main market, ogbo ogwu in Onitsha and the drug section of eke ukwu market in Owerri and arrest traders who indulge in selling fake and expired drugs after tampering with the expiry date.

The punishment for these sort of crimes should be severe, with no option of fine.

No level of greed should make anyone produce fake products for his fellow human to consume.

If such crimes are treated with kid gloves, in no time, we may even have people wage a biochemical war in the name of producing fake products from within Nigeria.

The government is not doing much about this fake products, make it a capital punishment.i am an igbo man and if killing my people who are involved in this evil will put an end to it let it be.It is painful for one to buy something only to end up buying fake. The most wicked one is drugs, you will buy malaria drugs only to end up with liver or kidney problems because of fake products.Even most of the building collapse is as a result of sub standard products. The government and we the masses really really end to take this fight very seriously because we don't know who will be a victim next time.

Putting people's health into consideration is never important. We are talking of mansions to show off in December here.

When you hear about strange deaths of young people, it's usually an autopsy that would give accurate results and mostly it's to do with kidney or liver issues arising from adulterated products!

What proof do you have for this claim of yours?
Alcohol is absorbed into your bloodstream and takes effect on your nervous system, are you telling me you have a remedy to prevent it from being absorbed or what?
Smoke is solid particles, it's stuck in your lungs once inhaled, are you claiming you have remedy for preventing smoke from getting into your lungs??

The issue of fake drinks is one of the easiest things to solve really

People sale fake drinks because what is the consequences of bring caught? Almost nothing

Make a law, any business caught selling fake get fined 200 million and would be closed for 18 months or forfit the business and owner won't be allowed to open another business of that kind for 6 years

In fact create a portal for all drink sellers, importers, distributors.. A scan of any drink shall review it's seller, distributor importer/producers

We only have fake drinks because government officials benefit from it

You have a point, but what you didnt take into cognisances is most of the fake producers are not registered business, they are illegal operations so sanction to close or forfiet is not realistic,
A ban to your facebook account and a ban to your NL moniker which is effective an unregistered business is like NL monikers, you ban one he opens another in less than 5mins. slam them with 10yrs jail with no options

iF i want to buy expensive wine, i buy strictly from shoprite or justrite ... there are more accredited stores people just need sensitization

As much as i don't support the stereotype please don't use "Few" when it comes to igbos & fake ... think of any product that is fake and you will find a igbo man hand in it .. truth be told e pass few

Even late Dora Akunyili hinted how his brothers ovoverwhelmed the market with fake products and she fought them ... coincidentally her husband was slaughtered in the East
