it's been long overdue to be honest. A club can't just train a player from youth, develop him and give him exposure to football world only to lose him for nothing cos he didn't sign professional contract.

Nice one
I think it has always been in place. Edu just want to raise the price.

This is how I understand it. Chelsea and Aston Villa were on the red with the FFP rule so they needed to sell ASAP. They both decided to exchange players. So, in order to balance the book and at the same time keep their star player, they exchanged academy boys between them and inflated the price. I think one of them was around 35m or so. I think that's what Edu wants to build on reason why Chelsea and Villa were referenced in that post.

Note please, that is how I understand it o. People who are more knowledgeable can help shed more light.

Hopefully Edu would pull it through

Players always missing one on one with goalkeeper these days.
This is getting too much grin
When I watched Sesko compilation, I just knew he wasn't ready for the big jump and I voiced my concern here. Aside him being two footed in taking shots, most of his other kind of play is still raw.

Anyways, like I said here, he made the best decision to extend and further polish his game out of pressure. He's still young so hopefully he'll come good.

Note: I don't judge players in cup competition tho

My job is to tell you that stamina does not mean "someone is not easily brushed aside". My job is to tell you what stamina is(if you don't know it) and possible give you synonyms at your request.

If you want a word for "not easily brushed aside", you can go look for it up for yourself. Even mosto.b gave you a word "bulk up" and you still no wan accept.

Na only you I see say fit argue against dictionary, Wikipedia and Google just not to lose an argument.

Well don our notable scientist.

I don drop my pen for this matter hereon.
Before you drop your pen save us from the confusion you created.

The bolded is what Mostob used to represent what I called stamina which is 'not easily brushed off the ball' but that was what you said Arteta didn't want Fabio Vieira to do. You said Arteta didn't want Fabio to bulk up. Does that not imply that Arteta wants Fabio to be easily brushed off the ball? This is weird. Lol. 🤣

Funny part is that I even gave you another word you can use for the "not easily brushed aside". But I guess your urge to reply and counter made you miss it

Mos.tob on the other hand repeatedly used "bulk up". Another word you can use. But no, you must insist on stamina.

This below is synonyms of body weight. Meaning I and Most.ob are even right on the word.

Like I said, I don drop my pen for this matter sha cool
I could have used any if those words whether bulk up, or body weight or stamina. It's you people that is insisting what's not. You keep roping yourself. I told you that Mostob will drag your leg. Lol 😂

I feel like, players should always prepare their minds for 1vs1. The flopping is too much.
In the past, 1vs1 is like bonanza to players like dis maria, messi, prime Ronaldo and some other good players cheesy

You're right. Remember that nutmeg by Suarez against PSG and how he shot that ball at the top bin. That is what these young strikers should emulate. No need for calculation, just pick a spot and put in enough power on your shot.
Sesko has that shot power but where he placed the ball was wrong. A keeper rushing forward to close you down will never have enough height to punch. Just place it at his left but a bit higher.

The meaning of STAMINA is the bodily or mental capacity to sustain a prolonged stressful effort or activity : endurance.

I've copy and paste the meaning of each word/phrase. Now stop mentioning me. If you're still not satisfied, feel free to argue with dem Google, dictionary and internet.

Most players no get sense on their own nowadays because they're being taught how to play ball instead of being creative.

One on one is the easiest and except a player is mentally weak, he ought not to miss any.

Any keeper rushing a striker should be an easy goal because the keeper must surely go down due to reflex, it's a must yet I don't know why players or Strikers don't chip. It's a cheat code in terms of scoring yet I don't why most Strikers don't opt for it. It's really sad

This is what you would have said since instead of doing wrong usage of words for days, just dragging and dragging.

The reason they don't want him to bulk up is because they see him as our "David Silva". Someone who can easily glide past players, someone who can easily twist and turn because of his weight lightedness. We all know, all these weight lighted players are really flexible and that's what they want in Viera

Whether they'll be successful or not with their postulation is another thing entirely but that's their plans for him.

I remember when we beat Chelsea 5-3 in the 2011/12 season. Then I was watching it at a viewing centre.

For the 4th goal, immediately Terry slipped and Van Persie took the ball, I started dancing before he even ran with it towards 1 on 1 with Cech. I was so 100% sure that he'll score it and he didn't disappoint.

When Havertz have that 1 on 1 against Liverpool earlier this year in our 3-1 win, I was just hoping that he'll score. I have to wait for ball to hit the back of the net before I'll celebrate. Thank God for Saka for the rebound cos I still wonder till today how a professional player will play that very poor ball straight at Allison.

The only player in our squad that I'm very certain if he have 1 on 1 is Trossard and to some extent Saka and Martinelli. For others, na just hope till the ball hits back of the net

Most players nowadays are not clinical. Na just to hope and pray for ball to hit the back of the net before someone will celebrate. This is very unlike before

Messi's first goal for us is a chip in.
Di maria only winning goal in copa is also a chip in. But nowadays, e just dey somehow.
Maybe it looks easy because we are not the one in front of the GK. Who knows?? grin cheesy

Lol... I don't agree with the bolded. See Messi and di Maria, that's their go to signature goal in one on ones especially Di Maria.

Except a player don't know how to chip cos I don't see why it should be hard. I mean, Gk is already out of his post and you don't need to even play it above the normal height of Gk (cos obviously he's going/gone down). Players can even mix it up. Do as if you want to place the ball, keeper goes down, then you chip. It's easy.

And to be honest that's even my de facto signature goal, whether I'm playing Pes or in the field. Worst part is that GKs will know that's what you want to do, but they MUST still go down. It's a reflex. Check every one on ones, all GKs go down before the attacker even hits the ball

You still remember that match? That one-on-one should stay one side first. You still remember that his left footed shot from the edge of the box? Now that was some sharp strike. Unfortunately they don't make such strikers anymore. Na false 9 we just dey see everywhere. Haaland is good but the system has rendered him impotent.

Right footed usually have the bigger shot power than left footed players. Most players who are known for ferocious shots are right footed. Roberto Carlos is one of a kind though. I think this is the reason why left footed forward usually go for technique instead of power. Salah, Robben, Messi, Di Maria, Dybala.

Lol, I was shocked when that happened (his hat trick goal). I thought he'll move towards into the 18yard box before unleashing the shot cos there was time and space. Omorr, the technique, swerve, precision and power of that goal was out of this world. Where was Cech diving to sef?? cheesy cheesy.
Aside Henry and VP, I've never really enjoyed any striker at arsenal. Eduardo gave me some feelings sha while GJ just excited me in his first few months. Aside these two, no striker have really wowed me tbh. But above all, the worst starting striker (for me) was Giroud. grin grin
Like you said, na false 9 and system don full everywhere. Striker are looking forward to assist than score cheesy cheesy

As for Haaland, it's only him that's the ancient traditional striker in modern times. Tbh, I feel if he doesn't evolve his game and Pep leaves Man City, we won't see his exploits for long again. He should just try and evolve his game cos he's still young. Years ago, I was thinking him and Mbappe might be the next Messi-ronaldo rivalry but sadly I don't see that happening again.

Andre Santos scored a worldie too. Our attacking left back. grin grin

Yea, Haaland needs to evolve. As for the rivalry with Mbappe, I was expecting that until he moved to City. City might give him visibility but not for long. Maybe a move to Madrid or Barcelona in future will give him the platform.

@jodera and @mostob,

Is like every season , we just need to buy a defender?

Is Kiwior leaving or hope this Uncle don't have plans to bench Gabriel.

I don't even understand the team at this point again.

Who is deputizing for who now

Your question is shocking. Because we don complain tire about not having quality depth. If Calafiori comes in and bench Gabriel, it is to the club's benefit now. Higher competition will translate to higher performance.

Hato, Murillo are other LCBs we've been considering. Arteta wants a solid backup to Gabriel. I think Kiwior will move back to Italy.

RB - White and Tomiyasu
LB, Timber, Zinchenko
CB - Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori*, Kiwior.
One defender will definitely move and that is likely Kiwior
