Grandma over the moon as she travels to US for the first time, vows never to return home
A Ghanaian grandma named Obaatan has expressed her delight after relocating to the United States (US) to join her children, vowing never to return home.

The elderly woman, who recently moved to the US to join her children who have been living there for many years, showcases her amazement in a series of videos shared online.

In the videos, which have gained attention on TikTok, the elderly woman is seen marveling at the landscape and high-rise buildings of New York City during a tour with her eldest son.

In an interview with DJ Nyame on the SVTV Africa YouTube channel, the grandma expressed her happiness about reuniting with her children and her new life in the US.

She shared her astonishment at the towering skyscrapers and the cleanliness of the city.

“This place is like heaven, there is no noise here, and the place has not been littered. This place is really beautiful with highrise buildings. I will not go back to Ghana again. I like it here,” she told DJ Nyame.

Netizens Reactions…

@KWAKU GALAXY said: “Even grandma don’t want to come back again. What about we the young ones.”

@prince boateng replied: “oh GhAna leaders why abrewa mpo is running away what about the youth Ghana leaders mogyimie.”

@Be Focused said: “Long life grandma and more blessing to the kids that makes it possible for her to get there.”

@Nana2022 wrote: “Even grandma is not returning to Ghana again.”

"This place is like heaven, there is no noise here, and the place has not been littered."

This is why the RICHEST pastors in the world are in Nigeria in spite of the ABYSMAL exchange rate.

Pastors in the US and other first-world countries cannot use the promise of heaven to scam a lot of people like their Nigerian counterparts can.

Nobody will give a fuuuck about your promise of Eldorado after they die when EVERYTHING works as it should. Unlike Nigeria where CALAMITY and CHAOS are the order of the day.

In Nigeria, pastors will tell you to ask God to enlist angels to fight for you. But the same pastors will hire a LAWYER to fight over a land dispute.

Pastors in Nigeria will advise members to buy handkerchiefs and anointing oils for "divine healing" but jet out to Germany for routine medical checkups.

Religion should be designated a TERRORIST ORGANISATION if we want Nigeria to progress.

I don't blame the grandma but her son who could not give her comfortable life in Nigeria. There are countless grandmas including mine who are living like queens with everything good life can offer in Nigeria. You will even beg them to follow and spend few months with you, let alone refusing to come back.

Older people love nature, infact I have seen many of them relocated from Lagos and Abuja to their home towns to enjoy abundance of nature.

One, she would want to return home one day, hence an easy visa process for her. Two, she will be a financial burden to whoever she lives with, a positive to the American economy because her carer will have no option but to work — two jobs in most cases. Three, that is one fine granny. I am impressed.

See educated illiterates that refused to read comprehensively for basic understanding, but good at dishing long epistles of nonsense to denigrate Nigeria, the first one had to lambast Christain religion to go off topic, if -0 IQ was a person, and these ones will call themselves grown up adult men, they prefer to read the topic only and type useless narratives that suits their limited mindset

Religion is a huge brainwashing machinery that has similar effects to using drugs. With drugs, you visit "heaven" but with religion, you get nothing and the pastor gets everything. I stopped going to churches when I got here.

Please delete this post. No iota of sense in it. You can’t live with your own failure of not been able to take your grandma abroad.

I have never seen anyone who is so disgruntled in its assessment of home and abroad. Do you know what it means to have full access to the basics amenities of living?

I won't insult you back because you are obviously ignorant of who I am or represent. If abroad is so luxury to you and your family, it doesn't to mine because we are not only living there, but many of us are citizens of USA and the UK.

My mum has access to every basic amenities in Nigeria, and she loves to spend her last years on earth in her natural habitat where she can mingle and play with her colleagues.

So, it is not my fault that your parents lacks basic amenities in Nigeria, and were not exposed enough in their active days to the extent that they would be so freak about life outside their country.

Agreed, I didnt see "Ghanian grandma" while quickly gone through the post. You should've simply point out the error withiout being rude and uncultured.

Besides, where in my post did I denigrate Nigeria? If I may ask, you are the one that have comprehensive issue and not the person you are ignorantly insulted.

Certainly you are more or less a dysfunctional educated misfit. Anyone who is not mentally deranged would know a little or two about access. I only talked about ACCESS*. The SECURITY challenges bedeviling Nigeria is no news to anyone, not to talk about HEALTHCARE and other problems ‘et al.

Indeed a fool is always a fool anywhere and everywhere! You attacked the OP for taking his grandmother abroad and find a way to justify yours being in Nigeria. You can only twist facts with your ilks and not everyone especially on this platform. Typically, most Nigerians are sick folks bereft of basic living conditions, yet they want to claim sophisticated in a nonsensical sense to others. Your comment is not only shameful, but hypocritical and a representation of your personality, not sure if you have one.
