Brendaniel:in the kenya protest did you see the protesters burning public transport systems? During the end sars protest which other tribe did you see telling their people to kill their host governor, firmer governor ans anybody related to them. During end sars which other region did you see commanding their people to burn down businesses and investment belonging to their host? During end sars weren't you aware that the real owners of a particular hotels had to erect a signboard saying he owns the hotels and not the perceived enemy? Answer these questions and be truthful to yourself for once. 1 Like 1 Share |

Bitterkola100: Okay let me ask you something, even though this question wasnt directed at me. How come all the names released of arrested End sars protesters and even corpses are all 98% Yoruba names? Amnesty International has found that the vast majority of #EndSARS protesters arrested in October 2020 are still being arbitrarily detained without trial. Since the #EndSARS protests, many people who have attempted to exercise their right to peaceful protest have repeatedly faced threats, harassment, and intimidation. PROLONGED DETENTION WITHOUT TRIAL Oyewole Olumide, Rasheed Tiamiyu, Moruf Adekunle, Taoreed Abiodun, Ikenna Amechi, Afeez Ariyo, Ikechukwu Eze, and Adesina Ademuyiwa were among those arrested in Ibadan for participating in #EndSARS protests in October 2020. Despite reportedly suffering from ill health, they continue to be held without trial in Agodi Correctional Centre, having previously been detained at a SARS facility in Ibadan and Abolongo Prison in Oyo Town. Ayodeji Oluwasegun, Andoh Immanuel, Yakubu Olayiwola, Olaogun Ismail, Uba Chukwuma, Dosunmu Taiwo, Daniel Joy-Igbo, Yusuf Rafiu, Olawale Marcus, Muyiwa Onikoyi, Shehu Anas, Suleman Saidu, Rasheed Wasiu Bolaji, Adigun Sodiq, Sunday Okoro, Akiniran Oyetakin, Ogidi Isah, Ibrahim Adesanya, and Faruk Abdulquadri have also been detained without trial in Kirikiri Medium Security Prison in Lagos since 2020. https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2022/10/nigeria-two-years-on-more-than-40-endsars-protesters-still-languishing-in-jail/ Even leaked memos i have seen are 99% yoruba names Even when the list of over 100 corpses to be buried was leaked 99% were Yoruba names, how come? i suggest you stop trying to divide the people along tribal lines it wont help you. 1 Like |

Unperturbedpota: I am not against the fundamental rights of people to protest, but against the lack of thoughtfulness that goes into the protest, which is a testament to the low-quality thinking inherent in our societies. For example, the last Labour union strike action for a minimum wage shows how inept the leadership of the labour unions are. Why ask for a wage increase when you have a biting overall inflation and food inflation at over 40%, knowing that most workers spend more than 60% of their income on food alone? One would have expected that their protest would be towards taming inflation and overall food inflation. When you run the numbers, the net value in USD and purchasing power of N30,000 is way lower than the likely new minimum wage, which means despite the new rate, the people are poorer, and in another 3 years, inflation would have wiped out the new wage's purchasing power. You can run the numbers for yourself and adjust for inflation to see my point. While we know the inflation is structural, there are low-hanging fruits that can be used to stem the surge in a matter of weeks. The several extortion points on our roads contribute to food inflation; what are we doing to eliminate such by police and other security agents, including local government agents? What about the unofficial cost of moving containers from Apapa? Does the labour union know that removing such will bring more value to people than a minimum wage? You mentioned EndSARS; what have we achieved with the global attention it brought? Any benefits? Imagine if the protest had clamoured for a system to ensure that the Inspector General of Police or a commissioner gets transferred or demoted whenever there is an occurrence of brutality, backed by the law with regular incidence auditing my KPMG or any other respected. |

PressMyButton: You guys lie and try to twist history, after all that happened during Buhari's tenure and the 2023 election, I have learnt a lot about you guys and how twisted you people try to make history, as at now I try as much as possible to fact check every history written by a Yoruba person about Nigeria( sorry to say) and I'm not saying all Yorubas are like that. But with the recent events I have seen I have become more conscious about it...

lionshare: A minimum wage increase, even in the face of high inflation, is a necessary step to help workers immediately cope with rising costs. While it's true that inflation erodes purchasing power, a higher wage provides some short-term relief for workers who are struggling to make ends meet. Without this increase, workers would be even worse off, unable to afford basic necessities. Inflation Control vs. Wage Increase Protesting for inflation control is indeed important, but it's a broader and more complex issue that typically involves government fiscal and monetary policies. NLC have more direct influence over minimum wage than over macroeconomic policies. It's not that they don't care about inflation, but that advocating for wage increases is a more immediate and achievable goal. Structural Issues and Low-Hanging Fruits: While addressing extortion on roads and costs associated with transportation of goods are valid concerns, these are structural issues that require systemic change and government action. NLC and other unions can highlight these issues, but they don't have the power to directly enforce these changes. Advocacy for better wages can coexist with advocacy for structural reforms. Effectiveness of Protests in the shadow of ENDSARZ debacle: Protests like EndSARS bring global attention to systemic issues and can lead to incremental changes. While immediate, tangible benefits might not always be visible, these movements put pressure on authorities and can gradually lead to policy changes. Dismissing their impact overlooks the potential for long-term improvements and the importance of raising awareness. A Holistic Approach: It's not an either/or situation. Labor unions and protesters can push for wage increases while also advocating for broader economic reforms. Both actions are part of a holistic approach to improving living conditions. The complexity of economic issues means that multiple strategies are often needed simultaneously. |

Brendaniel:Now you're falling for their antics by attacking the Yorubas. Have you seen why the masses still can't unite against the ruling class? The very moment we try to, their paid agents will use divide & rule tactics to split us along tribal and religious lines. And the bad thing is that we keep falling for it! I'm a Yoruba man and I participated actively in the #ENDSARS protest until it turned bloody. Should another protest occur again, I still won't hesistate to participate. Why? Our dear country is in dire need of reformation, we cannot continue like this. |

Brendaniel:You're a clown, he visited majorly police stations. Like i said, police stations were the main targets with a few jail breaks. However, Lagos was an exception where a disgruntled group under the guise of ENDSARS destroyed and burnt private and state assests belonging to their perceived enemies under the directive of a certain supreme leader. I am not aware of any properties belonging to any politician in Anambra was burnt down. |
Re: David Hundeyin Tweets That's Got Everyone Talking by olisaEze(m): 3:06pm On Jul 03 |
If you’re expecting another endSARS you need to do a rethink with the way things are going. Every one of these politicians might just find themselves receiving August visitors bearing well peppered koboko canes in their homes. EndSARS was a jamboree because food & fuel was still cheap. Anything that starts now won’t be the same! |
