Oya give us update oooh. Have you activated it?
Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by sonickay(m): 10:41am On Jul 03
Yes, it didn't connect to Satellites for quite a while but then I updated my service address and it went into Restricted mode.

20mins later it went online and I was billed 38k for Residential.

As I didn't prepare to receive the shipment within 4days, I had to put it on the roof of a shed where there is lot of obstructions. Highest speed I got was 63mps down and 23mps up which is quite good.

When I move it higher I will post screenshots.

They are sending me a replacement, but the router will arrive month end while the cable will arrive before Friday?

How?
Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by sonickay(m): 7:09pm On Jul 03
Kee p checking the tracking code. I don't know how or who processed your replacement but I observed that they have started delivering faster than their shipping dates state, so your delivery date could change.

Alternately, you can message support to fast-track the shipping for the Router on the ground that you are solely relying on Starlink and have something urgent to do with it in a week as you couldn't wait for their delivery date

I placed an order for the Ethernet Adapter, I see it's discounted now to 30k.

Can someone please recommend a Router that has VPN and can broadcast signal over an extended range (used preferably) cis Starlink's coverage is poor?

are you in Lagos? if yes, dont bother, Lagos is congested. but if you insist you must have it, then cancel and go and source from Konga and Jumia , its the same thing. just that you wont get a 1 month free sub and FYI -only roaming plan is available in Lagos for now.

Bro, what of the starlink mini?
Is it available and how can I place an order?

Congratulations 🎉
Don't worry about the speed, it would improve. Mine started at 50 to 60mbps but now average 100-150mbps and it's just placed on the floor of my compound.

The good thing is, even though its slow it still BEATS whatever MTN is giving me in this area... na steady light be my major problem.

You are right, mine is placed on a low elevated surface for now and despite the obstructions I now get 80 to 150mbps.

I also find it interesting that I could observe Starlink behavior while not at home (screenshot below). It's how I know who is connected and if there is power supply now

I agree...i average 24mbps on my Starlink, but it does far better than my MTN which I think was same speed or so. My Teams calls are clearer now and videos stream better

Please, is there a way I can increase the WiFi coverage of my Starlink? Network disappears when I am about 40ft away from the router.
Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by sonickay(m): 1:27pm On Jul 05
I used an address at Lotto Bus Stop close to the police station, you can use that as Service Address and use your current address as shippin address

You will have to get a Router, that's what I have decided to do

If it's the Lotto bustop I know that is just after Aseese bustop, it is at least 50km away from Palmgrove where he actually is. The difference in location is significant and he may have Restriction issues

That's truly far. Palmgrove is too central, minimum distance with service is about 40km away.

He could try it though, if it doesn't work, he could return the device and ask for a refund within 30days
