The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike on Friday declared it is not President Bola Tinubu’s responsibility to identify where criminals are.

Wike said Tinubu would provide security tools but the security agencies are saddled with the responsibility to confront criminals.

He spoke while presenting 50 operational vehicles fitted with communication gadgets to security agencies in Abuja.

Wike, however, assured that security is one of Tinubu’s key priorities.

He said, “For us as a government, it is not the responsibility of Mr President to go and identify where the criminals are; it is not my responsibility or the minister of state’s responsibility to go and engage criminals.

“It is our responsibility to provide the tools for the security agencies to confront these criminals and make sure we sleep with our two eyes closed.

“If we do not play this role, it will be difficult for our security agencies to be effective and to be able to carry out this function of securing lives and properties.”

He urged residents to support and pray for the security agents “who sometimes lose their lives in the line of duty”.

I sincerely don’t think so …. Nigerian politics is mostly scratch my back and I scratch your back….

Meaning it’s all about deals… what do I get in return ? How will this profit me??

Wike’s antecedents has never been to back stab anyone once a deal is made … while President Tinubu has always been known for honouring deals made and dealing Decisively with any one who goes against the deal…. Eg Ambode

I see this friendship as one ordained by God …Wike is truly turning Abuja around… freee and fair elections I don’t think Tinubu will looose FCT next election

Maybe it's time to remove the Commmander-in-chief from the President's title then.. since Wike thinks that asking the President for security means bothering him with what is not his duty🤔

Wike is only exhibiting the psyche of an average Nigeria leader.. they think everything is about money.. they think you can just throw some money around and the problems go away.. at least Bandits and Boko Haram have shown them that things don't work that way..

Keep dreaming. Buhari was not hated like Tinubu is at the moment, yet Buhari lost FCT twice. Buhari's Hausa /Fulani brothers and sisters in FCT could not save him, how much more Tinubu with a handful of tribesmen in FCT. Abuja votes right. We are keeping Tinubu and Wlike's receipts, waiting for 2027. They have imposed education tax on our children in private schools in Abuja and you think we will not pay them back? Wike is threatening the people's senator and you think we are not watching. If he likes, let him build heaven in Abuja. We will remind them how they have made us live in unprecedented hardship in a city we once enjoyed. Don't worry, time will tell.
