That is a “RED” flag.
Unless they have your immigration records and can verify that you overstayed your previous visa, you should stay silent about this.
Wrong advice. Someone I know did this … 10 years ago is when his happened, hid this information and in 2024 has just started their 10 year ban for deceit and coverup… and trust that the 10 year ban is for life.
If any applicant doesn’t know what is on file for them, then they should do a SAR and find out before heeding your advice of withholding information @starline5

Your chances are low. Only spouse visa can most assuredly cancel out a previous bad UK immigration history.

Who is the boy supposed to go on the trip with? His biological parents, or who?
He is supposed to travel with the mom, who's also the sponsor with a British passport

Hello great minds.
Thank you all for the wealth of knowledge shared and the assistance offered on this platform.
I need a clarification on the aspect of my visa application.
I am marri ded and employed and want to visit the UK. I have a friend in the UK that I will stay in her house and she will provide feeding as well. The house belongs to her.
She is a British citizen.
I will however be footing my flight ticket fare.
Does it mean that she is my sponsor?
What documents does she need to give me since she will provide food and accommodation for me?

Will starting that she will feed and accommodate me affect my application adversely?

I have had 2 previous denials in 2018 due to the huge amount of funds in my account even though I did a cover note stating that I have worked for more than 14 years and I earn well.

Someone please help out oo

For someone who previously overstayed his visa about 13yrs ago, what's his chances of getting visa if he apply now?

Very slim chance.

Wrong advise. They have records and can easily find out. It will be a miracle if the person in question gets another visa. Miracles do happen so he can try.

May not be an issue.
Where you deported?

Typically the form asks you to put in visis to the uk in the last 10 years I think . Same for previous visas I think it should be within last 10yrs

If any where in the application form states have you been removed or deported and if that is true. Then fill it accurately

Uk would have records yes. However if you left on your own 13yrs ago circumstances may have changed for you so no issue applying. Go ahead.

Hopefully you didn't do anything criminal or that took you to court, Even with that you declare it .

Proof of her citizenship
Proof of her accommodation and type
Letter of invitation stating she will house and feed you

Yes in the form she is part sponsoring your trip because she is covering accommodation and feeding.

Your own costs are the ones you alone will pay for. Flight and any other thing you want to spend money on.

Lastly pls read back and spend the time to read even if it takes ypur 5hours. You will find advice that people have already given to others that relates to your own case

Thank you so much for responding.

Is her bank statement required as well?
Having an accommodation and food sorted out will reduce my budget that is also why I want to use it.

But I also don't want it to appear that I cannot pay and accommodation and feed myself during my stay in the UK.

So I am quite confused so that's why I wanted an opinion on it.

I made that comment based on my own personal experience, and that was why I said he could try it.

UK trip - I entered in March 2015 with my 2-year UK visa, which was supposed to expire in August 2015, and I stayed until September 2016.

In April 2017, I gathered my documents together and applied for a 5-year UK visa. On my VAF, I claimed I was in the UK in 2015 for 10 days. I uploaded my expired UK visas (6-month and 2-year visas) to support my application.

My 5-year visa application was approved.

Your chances depend on how well you package the application.

If you're positive that you don't have any problems over there and your fingerprints are not in any of their databases for any crime, then I don't think there's going to be any problem if you package your application well.

On the VAF, they only asked for past 10-year immigration histories, and yours is over 10 years.

If you still have a copy of the expired visa, upload it to your application, and note in the additional comment section that I have been to the place before for a 2-week vacation.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Starline5: 6:43pm On Jul 06
It's actually for my elder brother. He had submitted a new application and clearly stated that he voluntarily left the UK, he had no criminal record whatsoever, he only overstayed for 3momths and left voluntarily. He was on a x2yrs visa then.

Good, but I will stay silent concerning the overstay if I were him because this happened over 10 years ago.

Anyway, best of luck to him.

Visa Alert!!!
6 months
Family of 6( 4 applicants)
Biometrics: 13th June VI
Straight foward application email from DMC Croydon: 19th June
Visa pick up mail: 3 July
Passport picked up: 5 th July
Special thanks to @cashmadam. Amelia T and a host of others for their guidance.
I joined this house in December asking questions and reading thru. Thank you all.

My story; My kids and i were refused in 2022
Reason unexplained lodgement other than my salary. ( even though I tried to explain it in my cover letter). I was a sole sponsor and the entire balance in my account was for the trip.
2024 application
My husband was part sponsoring with 11m(family of 6 myself and 5children of which 2 are US citizens). My personal cost for the trip was 3.7m but I had a balance of 4m as at when I printed my bank statement. He is not intending to go on the trip with us and we disclosed it

Document submitted
Letter of introduction
Consent Letter
Cover letter
6 months Salary bank statement i ensured the only credit was my salary and debit my expenses. I high lighted my salary for the 6 months.
My husband submitted his 6months savings account.
Children's birth certificate
Letter from their schools
Receipt of last school fees paid
Land document
Previous Visa for myself and my kids( my 1st child and visited in 2011 we included the pics and copy of the visa)
Family pics and pics of previous trips
Data pages and birth certificate of US citizens as they r accompanying us on the trip.
My husband has a current UK visa 2years ans US visa 5 years submitted copies of this
Marriage certificate
Hotel booking from booking.com
We disclosed Previous denial (1 US 1 UK)
Evidence my other savings in treasury bills
because of previous refusal ensured ( Proposed cost for the trip + amount hubby sponsor+my other savings was bout half of our combined amount)

In my letter of introduction I included that my leave was approved for the period of the trip and I will b returning to work. How.long I have worked there and my job description, how much I earn.
In my cover letter I included a day to day iternary for the holiday.
On the application in the extra information I disclosed a brief explanation of what I had in the offer letter, which includes saving my funds for the trip in that account as opposed to previously transferring out and investing in TB. I have a current 2years US visa that is expiring in August this year and I made sure my return was before the expiration of my US visa
Explain as much as you can in the form some don't read the cover letter.
My husband had some lump sump payment in the savings account . thank God that was not picked as account padding.
After our 2022 denial, I have been to the US twice.
I didn't include my budget I just stated the total amount even though I used a budget to arrive at the amount for the trip.
Pls avoid using too many bank accounts, keep it simple.
I hope this will help Some1 as it helped me
All the best to all intending traveller.

Hello house,

My body itches as we speak and I just need some sort of calm. What precedes an approval or denial? I’m catching a whiff that if the pick up email comes first before a decision email, you’re likely approved. If the decision email comes first, you’re denied. I got the dispatch email first, then pick up afterwards from TLS. No decision email from anywhere. Help a fainting soul…
. How does pick up, dispatch and decision mail looks like?

If the pick up mails comes first, it’s most definitely means your visa has been granted.
