President Bola Tinubu’s tenure as the chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government comes to an end today (Sunday).

The 65th Ordinary Session of the Authority is holding at the Presidential Villa in Abuja where he is expected to pass on the torch to another leader.

Tinubu was unanimously endorsed as chairman in July 2024 at the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau.

Since then, the Nigerian leader has dealt with challenges particularly military coups in member states. The president initially took a strong stance against unconstitutional changes of government in Niger Republic, Burkina Faso, Mali and Guinea, overseeing the imposition of sanctions on them.

However, the sanctions were later lifted as the sub-regional body opted for a more peaceful approach to resolve the issues.

Alright. I guess we need his undivided focus on the revival of the nation economy and prestige more than ever now, so this comes as a welcome development. Let's build a fantastic home before thinking of building a glorious world.
God bless NIGERIA
WE RISE!
Re: Tinubu Steps Aside As ECOWAS Chairman by Theoarhics: 7:17pm On Jul 07
Abeg he should do same with Nigeria. Look at the calamity he has caused in ecowas. He's presidency has weakened the ecowas. Mali, Niger and Burkina faso have left the organization because he couldn't manage the situation that made them left. He can't even manage Nigeria. Since he became president the country has gone left.

A man performed badly when he was the governor of Anambra that many of his people considered his tenure as worst for them. The lecturers went on strike even doctors went on strike for more than a year. He could not conduct LGAs election until after seven years of his tenure and such a man is a democrat to some fools. Despite all these failures, I am surprised that Igbos never see anything wrong with Peter Obi a bloody failure. Only a fool will choose Obi over Ogbonaya, Umahi or Soludo. What a shame!
