A former girlfriend called me a Tyrant who was trying to cage her ??

Many years ago, I met a mature lady online. We both live in London and she no get papers and if things had worked out I would have given her UK papers.

She came to my flat soon after we met online, stayed the night and left the next day.

A few days later we were having a telephone conversation and she said whilst she was working in Naija, her boss once told her colleagues that she does not know how to lie and that if she visited a babalawo, she would expose herself in a later conversation. I picked up on this and to be on the safe side, I continued the phone conversation with her along the following lines :-

Me :- Shey you dey go babalawo ni.
Her :- Stop talking rubbish.
Me :- Hope say you no go follow me go my family meeting go dey tell me say I should stop talking rubbish ?
Her :- If you talk rubbish in front of your family, I will tell you to stop talking rubbish.
Me :- In that case you are not yet ready to settle down with a real Naija man. Maybe you should try your luck with an Oyinbo man.
Her :- You are a Tyrant and you are trying to cage me.
Me :- Na so I jejely end the relationship allow her carry her wahala go.

This na woman wey dey tell me the first day she came to my flat that I have to give up my flat and move into a newly rented flat that will have both our names on the tenancy ??

She also told me that she used to be a leader of women whilst back in Naija and that I should be open to her doing her woman leadership activities from our joint abode and be open to so many of the women she will be leading visiting our home and this is not something I would have liked as I am a very private person and I don't want all and sundry in my private space.

Anyway, I ended the relationship sharply when she said I was a Tyrant who was trying to cage her just because I told her not to say I was talking rubbish when I asked a pertinent follow up question to clarify if she visited babalawos (a valid follow up question based on what she had said earlier).

I can't stand mouthy or stubborn women especially when their stubbornness rears its ugly head when I am trying to correct them or give them valid advise.

It looks like ALL of today's women detest being corrected and correcting them brings out the demons in them and from my experience, its not just the women abroad who are like this. Those in Nigeria are like this as well but some of them hide it due to pecuniary gains.

Oyinbo no get culture to start with. That is different form someone from back home who understands our culture when we are visiting our spouses FAMILY GATHERINGS and she chooses to insult you in front of your WHOLE family.

For example a friends junior sister in the UK lost her marriage because she was trying to justify slapping her husband over petty remote control squabble and she tried to justify this to the chaps Dad who is a Chief in Nigeria by telling her father in law that she slapped him in self defence which was even a lie according to her own older brother.

The husband promptly packed out of the house in the middle of the night and that was the end of the marriage.

IF (but I wouldn't dare do so) I were to have mistakenly married an Oyinbo woman and she gets rude and mouthy, I will have known that that is Oyinbo culture and she does not really understand Naija culture but with a home bred Naija woman who grew up in naija to come over to the UK and INTENTIONALLY try to bastardize my culture, I will rather remain single for life that put up with that nonsense.

Reminds me of a bros in London who went back to Ondo state and told his 85 year old Aunty that na woman be oga for the UK o. His Aunty promptly asked him what he was still doing in such an evil country where the wife is the oga to the husband.

Please, I know it'll be quite difficult, but, please try as much as possible to stay away from good-for-nothing Nigerian girls over there. They have ways of making an ambitious man not to reach his full potentials.

the moment she told you the above, you should have dropped the useless liability... its obvious this lady has a problem with leadership and want to be able to act anyhow in that home (thus why she wants her name on the lease).

but then again, when men meet total strangers online and before even thinking of knowing that person face to face, you are there talking about moving together and meeting your parents bla bla bla, no wonder these yeye women will act in such a foul manner.
