I don’t know why a supposed graduate can’t answer a simple question. Who is your sponsor? It means who is sponsoring your studies (the person footing the bills). If you have a GTA/ RA, a simple response like, I have a GA that covers 90% of my tuition with a stipend of x amount of dollars and my uncle/aunty/ mum/ dad/ husband will be covering the deficit. |

Hello fam Hello fam I'm confused about something so I really need your help. My school only need unofficial transcript to review application and make decision but your official transcript will be required "only" if you choose to attend the school (CU Boulder) after you've been admitted. Last week my current institution told me that my transcript will reach CU Boulder in eight weeks time. Meanwhile application for Spring 2025 will start on the 1st of August. I want to know if this will be an issue. Also my recommender said he will send in my recommendation letter on the 29th of July, my concern is, will it be an issue if a recommendation letter arrives before the official application date? Will it be an issue if official transcript arrives before decision is made? CU Boulder waives application fee for applicants who provides documents that proves hardship. Will a letter of termination of employment be sufficient to convince the admission team to offer me application waiver? Thanks as I await your timely response.

Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 1:23am On Jul 08 |
ObamaMessi: Hey 🤠 1. Its not going to be an issue. Students can or have manipulated Academic transcripts, Test score reports and Credentials. Hence, CU Boulder do not trust direct credentials from prospective applicants 100% but they do not want to delay admissions by accepting your unofficial transcripts as a specimen , BUT you must request for the original the moment you arrive the school and start classes. 2. If your present school cannot release unofficial transcripts to you and you think that the official one they sent might take time you can then ask your department or HOD to write a formal letter stating that your official transcripts is enroute. 3. Both recommendation letter , and official transcripts can arrive in no particular order. The school has opened a file for you so any one that comes first goes into your file. 4. For the application fee waiver, do not debase yourself with termination of Employment letter. Foreign students displaying too much of financial hardship thinking that their host-institutions will show pity on them usually backfires towards their admission decisions because such students have shown inability to pay school fees or survival financially upon arrival. 5. Proving hardship can be bank payment or online payment hardship, your credit card has just expired, the domain of payment of the application fee you are using keeps rejecting your debit cards, etc and you can beseech the school to waive it for you because of the aforementioned issues. PS: Are you not supposed to have an application portal where you upload and check the progress of your application? Best Wishes 🙏 |

Wf007:The US embassy are really making it look like visa approval is a lottery system. Have you ever apply for any US visa before aside F-1 visa. Can you change your responses, you’re sounding like one that’s prepped by an agent. How about you respond directly? Have you travelled out of Nigeria before? Yes, Egypt. Allow him to ask you what you went to do in Egypt. A lot of you sound so prepped by an agent. What’s your profile? Did you get a GA/GTA/ RA? What’s your bachelors in? Those Corona Virus research, do you mind sharing what research you carried out there? Do you actually work at Obafemi Awolowo University? Are you sure someone else hasn’t used that format? 3 Likes |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 2:50am On Jul 08 |
Wf007: Hey 🤠 Yes. I like your suspicion ability in the last paragraph. 1. You are working in a reputable institution as a Federal Civil Servant but you seem to want to use the opportunity to travel to the USA on your personal interest (You should have align your F1-VISA to OAU). 2. Your best tie to Nigeria right now is OAU but you want to leave it behind since the institution authorities are not aware of your new academic sojourn. Your wife and kids would have shield you from this but you are purely single. 3. The last knock-out which your instincts had suggested is that your profession as a synthetic chemist is a kind of skill that is being sought after by the World Peace Menace (s), and you added salt to your injury by chosen the Northern territory as your internship country where you stayed for 1-year. Ironically, you just arrived from the same country barely 5 months before you attended your last F1-VISA interview. Best Wishes 🙏 |

OyoTunjiUSA:I am so grateful OyotunjiUSA. I don't have an application portal yet, application begins on the 1st of August. Can I create an application portal before this date? And how do prove that my credit card expired? Hope they will not ask me to renew it before applying. Can I explain that I lost my ATM and wasn't able to get another one? Will that be valid ground to seek for application fee waiver? Thank you so much for your prompt responses. 🙏🙏 |

Hello, please I just submitted the first step in my F1 visa application (ds-160), I cannot locate where to schedule an appointment. Can someone please help me with the next steps link. Am I to do any medicals? I saw this while reading here. Thanks in advance |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 9:56am On Jul 08 |
ObamaMessi: Hey 🤠 1. I just visit CU Boulder Web page and i think you can register on the portal as a prospective student. Most of your application materials are still going to be uploaded via this portal so you just have to follow the due process. 2. Regarding the application fee waiver , you do not have to follow the exact idea i suggested. You can create your personal idea without creating the impression that you are a financially disadvantaged applicant and if you want to follow my idea then it's up to you to develop on it. https://grad.apply.colorado.edu/account/register?r=https%3a%2f%2fgrad.apply.colorado.edu%2fapply%2f Best Wishes 🙏 |

SinachiP: Hey 🤠 1. Click on the following link and upon opening click again on Login. When you get to the login page you should click on New User. https://www.ustraveldocs.com/ng/en/nonimmigrant-visa?nodialog 2. No. You do not need medicals for F1-VISA. May be you read it on the immigrant section thread. Best Wishes 🙏 1 Like |

Thank you sir @oyoTunjiUSA. I have found where to access it as I am currently in UK with my family not Nigeria. Please I want to also know if I should go ahead with scheduling my own appointment or I need to do it together with my family/dependents ( they're yet to complete the ds 160 form) Would they need an interview as well or just me. I appreciate your help on this platform 🙏🏼 |

Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 11:39am On Jul 08 |
Adeore15: Hey 🤠 Did you mean VISA delayed as in 221g or VISA DENIED ? 1. Anyways, that white lady with pointed nose did her job and she is still going to approve some VISAS today. 2. USA consulars are not usually biased and they are 95% of the time make VISA judgements according to what they are trained to do. I will rate their mistakes all the time only as 5%. 3. You got two conflicting answers regarding your travel passport expiration and i want to personally thinks that you disobeyed the passport expiration rule by 1-Month. There is no ignorance in law (crime) if you are not an infant or minors between age 0 - 7. 4. You may post your transcripts perhaps people might detect other reasons. Best Wishes 🙏 |

Good morning everyone. Once again, I'm grateful for all the help I've received here so far. Please I have another question. My sponsor is a business man, his current account balance is not enough to cover my COA but said he's waiting for some money to get in today. Can I still print his account statement after receiving the money? I hope there won't be any issues with the fact that the money just got into his account today and the statement printed the same day? |

Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 12:06pm On Jul 08 |
cybergeek: Hey 🤠 1. The USA embassy financial verification policy is different to those of Canada, UK, and Australia where you have to deposit or leave money for certain period of time. But of recent, the USA embassy now prefers (not compulsory) that the money from funders to have been deposited at least 4-months prior to your VISA interview. 2. Yes wait for your funder to deposit the money and print out the statements accordingly but USA embassy will verify it and traced the sources except if the consular did not demand for it. Dont ask me how is that possible withing 10 munites of my interview " Best Wishes 🙏 |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Adeore15: 12:07pm On Jul 08 |
Someone said I should go ahead with the interview that the 6-month validity has been scrapped . What I observe is they look into your ds-160 and look for loopholes to deny you cos one will wonder why her first question was if I have been out of Nigeria before. OyoTunjiUSA: |

SinachiP:Do not email anyone outside of Nairaland. Be free to use pseudo names or information that protects your PII You can schedule your interview as individual or as a group (family). If you all are going to the US together, better to apply together. |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 12:41pm On Jul 08 |
Adeore15: Hey 🤠 ** I understand your pain but we still have to be reasonable and refusing to tell you the truth means you will continue to make errors. Those 5 people you chatted with including yourself were not qualify for the VISA. Now, let me drill you as a simulated Consular officer " 1. How do you want to cover 90% of your tuition deficit ? Although i have not seen your I 20 but let's say approximately N25.M . 2. Do you have that money in cash right now ? How much is your salary and how many years did you used to save up that amount ? 3. Your dad who is supposed to have been able saved up that amount as a result of years of working or retirement now turns to mare supporter of 10% , okay you are getting money or richer than your Co-funder (your dad) , How will you survive if your dad is unable to dole out his 10% ? 4. Except you are a Phd applicant, your wife would be coming For visiting is a bad answer. She is supposed to have a job or career and be monitoring the affairs of your kids upkeeping and schools while you are away studying. This is social media era where video calls , Skype, WhatsApp etc can supplement total away-from home. USA Army personnels some time spends up to 4 years outside USA without wife or kids. 5. Your transcripts is even incomplete because you did not tell us name of school, course of study, etc but let's alighted out of that trailer. You were not qualify for the VISA at the time of your interview. Best Wishes 🙏 |
