hunee: Yes. Nigerian immigration has nothing to do with whether you have a visa to your destination country their job is to stamp you out. It's the airlines responsibility 1 Like |

yerilistik: Please For applications submitted before the increment of the visa fees, and it already stated the cost, will you then be asked to pay the new visa fees on the day of your biometrics since the appointment date is after the increment ? And is card payment allowed ? Or cash only ? |

Pls does anyone knows any hotel that is close to TLS center in V.I? |
Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by yerilistik: 5:14pm On Jul 08 |
Atinukemi23:I think the new increment will apply as per current rate on the day of biometrics For example, I submitted my application in May 2024 and was informed on the form to bring 80 euros or about 123 k on the day of biometrics only for me to eventually pay 138k on that day which i think was the new rate of 90 euros effective from 11 june. 1 Like |

Nonamexxx:Nah not yet. I’m now getting worried coz it’s the 7th week and I’ve tried all available means to reach them even if it means for me to withdraw my application. other countries like Spain and Norway issues my type of visa in 5 days. |

yerilistik:I submitted mine under the spouse of an EU citizen and with lesser documents but they are taking so long with the decision .it’s the 7th week now and I hope if there’s a way one can withdraw one’s application |
Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Nonamexxx: 6:22pm On Jul 08 |
Nicholasguzy: Email the consulate about your passport. Tell them it's been been over 7 weeks. I hope it's not that they've even returned it and you weren't notified. Email consulate, not TLScontact like you did the first time. |

Your partner is from which country exactly? Where did you get married? I mean which country? All this are very important if you could elaborate |
Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Amml270: 7:08pm On Jul 08 |
Nicholasguzy: And why are you going to Europe through France? Does your partner reside in France permanently.? If you are not careful it could take longer. From experience sha 1 Like |

yerilistik: Thats crazy application was submitted in May too, and appointment is at the end of this month, one would have thought since you submitted before the 11th of June you will pay the fees specified on the registration receipt. Hope it is not cash only ? 1 Like |

Nonamexxx:When I emailed the consulate, the reply I got was that they don’t give the status of the application I would have to go through TLS. I called TLS as well and the lady that picked was surprised as well but she told me they haven’t receive my passport yet. |

Amml270:She doesn’t live in France. We decided to visit France together coz the EU spouse route is quite easy. And the address on the letter is her home country address. What do you think I could do? |

She’s American Belgian but lives in Belgium and we got married here in Nigeria |
Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Amml270: 9:09pm On Jul 08 |
Nicholasguzy:You should have applied through Belgium first They will see it suspicious. That's why it took so much time They. Are making some investigation. But no fear sha . It will be hard for them to refuse you like thst 1 Like |

Amml270:Belgium wasn’t taking any applications for like two months due to one network ish. Now they just announced they will resume back by July 22. If I knew France won’t adhere to their 15 days wait, I wouldn’t have apply. Even Spain with tougher restrictions dey issue am in two weeks under the same directive. Make them jus give me my passport back i dey pray. |
Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by yerilistik: 9:16pm On Jul 08 |
Amml270:This is exactly what i think. Applying through France wasn't the best idea. It's possible they have sent the passport and application to Belgian consulate to carry out the investigation and take decision which obviously ll take longer than the usual duration 1 Like |
Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by yerilistik: 9:23pm On Jul 08 |
Nicholasguzy:Sorry about this. Like i stated earlier, it would have been better and more straightfoward you applied through Belgium since your spouse resides there. However, the fact that it has taken this long, 7 weeks, makes me think they are likely to grant you the visa just that they are probably liasing with Belgian authorities to do some verifications before taking a decision. A refusal ll not usually take this long unless after investigations they find that you guys were not properly married. Just calm down and continue to excercise patience |
Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Amml270: 9:40pm On Jul 08 |
yerilistik:in addition to what you said. They want to be. Sure if you actually got married. You know if it was a marriage between you and french citizen it would have been different. because before you could get married to a french citizen.. you need to apply for a ccam from french embassy which could take year or month deoend in your situation and after the ccam then you can get married and after you need to do s transcription . So they know marriage with a french is fo sure a real marriage . because even the transcription takes 6 month. After the transcription they will issue you a family boom. So.. with you it will be different. |
Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Amml270: 9:46pm On Jul 08 |
Amml270:French people are always suspicious of everything So don't worry you will get it But they will be sure and make proper investigation |
