Never knew you can use NIN slip in place of utility bill. I want to help my sister-in-law open Stanbic MMF but utility bill has been her challenge as they live in their own house in Benin and it is solar that they are using.

If NIN slip is used for utility bill, can the same NIN slip be used for means of identification?.

I just did kyc on my Stanbic few days ago.
I used statement of account bearing my name and the same address I filled on the form.
I got success message yesterday

You don't need to fill other forms once you complete the registration online

If you place redemption request before noon on any working day, you get your funds in your designated bank account same day otherwise you get it the next business day if you place redemption request on weekends or public holidays

Any commercial bank of your choice can be used as the redemption account, you don't have to be a customer of stanbic ibtc bank.

You can click the first link on my signature to open an account.

Thanks

Yes, signed bank account statement at least the first page with your address is another document that is accepted as proof of address generally by all fund managers.

The only challenge now is no one knows when rates will drop and what it will drop to. Certainty aids financial planning. I don’t think we will ever see rates peak this high again after this bubble. We can only hope CBN will maintain this high MPR….

Rate will surely drop i don't think CBN can afford the interest its paying on its debt much longer.

Normally, the investor source for the dollar but currently like a sort of promo, Norrenberger can source for dollar for you but the conversion will be at their own rate on the very day of the investment. So you come with the naira and they invest the equivalent of $550 or more in the dollar fund. Chat me up if you want to invest.

This seems nice.
For withdrawal and/liquidation, will they pay in dollars or convert back to the naira equivalent?

No, it's a dollar fund so all transactions after that initial conversion are in dollars, Norrenberger will not convert back to naira at any time - interest payment, redemption, or reinvestment of interest will be done in dollars.

@sleekybaba, MMF and stock are two different products. You can't use MMF account to buy shares, you will need to have stock/cscs account to buy shares. Many years back you could buy shares in the primary offer without cscs account because paper certificates were printed then, but now shares bought even in primary offer will be credited to your cscs account directly.

If wish to buy the ongoing fidelity or any other company shares, open a stock account it takes about 72hrs to do that if no kyc issues.

You can open a stock account with investment one right away. Click the third link on my signature to do that.

Requirements is the usual kyc documents
Note: you don't need cash to do that. Account opening is free.

Get in touch if you need further clarifications.

I've opened the stock account with investment-one. I'm stock at the "Market/Limit", not sure of what to select between Market or Limit, because i am buying to keep for future.

Ok. You are welcome on board. When placing a trade, if you pick market price, it means you are buying the stock at any available price in the market you are most likely to buy at the highest offer price, on the other hand picking limit option enables you to choose your own price you feel the stock is worth in that case your order can only be fill at that price or lower. However the price you pick must be within +10% or - 10% of the opening price.

If you don't mind, chat me up so that we can do the trading together during market session by Monday or any trading day. I'm sure after about two tradings you will understand better.
By the way it's commendable you already have your investment objective. It's a good way to start stock investment.

You can also visit the stock thread to learn from others.

I dunno what’s going on with our MMF sha. Quantum remits interests daily (you see this via the app) but in the last few weeks, it’s been lagging. Like up until now, I’ve not seen my interest for yesterday. Hope nothing? LOL

Yes very possible, I have done it severally. Just get all the details of the other bank account and your request will be processed...but the charges are annoying

I am curious about the sentiments surrounding the reduction of minimum investment amount in the Stanbic IBTC Dollar Fund.

The minimum is $100. But their account is Standard Chattered Bank, New York. Will most of the minimum ($100) not deducted as charges and commission while transferring the money? 🤔

Good day sir,

Please I have two shares certificates which I got many years ago. I didn't have CSCS account then. I just opened a stock brokerage and CSCS account recently. How do I go about getting my previous shares onboard the CSCS system and my brokerage account?

I will answer you here for this, but please ask questions like this on the stock thread so that we don't derail the mutual funds thread.

You will need to demat the certificates so that the holdings will be deposited into your cscs account. The first point of call is the office of your stockbroker with the physical certificates to begin the process.

Chat me up if you need further clarification

All MMF rates are daily valued. Fixed income rates changes but may not be daily. Whatever rate you see confirm from the fund manager if it's gross or net.
