This is Tinapa, Calabar, South South Nigeria. Once hailed as Africa's premier business and luxury resort, Tinapa was a vision of grandeur and prosperity. Nestled in the lush landscapes of Cross River State, Nigeria, this $350 million project was set to revolutionize commerce and tourism." Initiated by Governor Donald Duke, Tinapa was designed to be a commercial powerhouse, drawing in millions of dollars and attracting visitors from across the globe. But behind the scenes, crippling bureaucracy, Customs barriers, legal uncertainties, and a lack of political will turned this dream into a nightmare. As if things couldn't get worse, the End SARS protests in 2020 saw Tinapa ravaged by looting and destruction, leaving it a shadow of its former self. But hope is on the horizon. With new leadership and a $3.5 billion investment for the Bakassi Deep Sea Port, Tinapa is poised for a resurgence. Can this ambitious project rise from the ashes and reclaim its place as Africa's premier business and luxury resort?. Join us on TV Afrique Networks, as we uncover the full story of Tinapa – its rise, its fall, and its potential rebirth. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7x5X_dtcEA 16 Likes 2 Shares

With leaders like this e go hard rock develop Nigeria... Tinapa was meant to fail and we keep failing not because it's a bad project na it's a fantastic project The issue is Nigerians don't have the "business" Population to make it profitable 3 years ago only 3.7milliom Nigerians spent 10 dollar plus per day... Now I'm sure it's below 2 million people Going to tilapia would cost 50 dollars minimum... How many Nigerians have that to spare per capita Calabar people would just go there to snap picture Anyone who has done business in a mall knows the truth 70% of people just come to take pictures Tinapa like ajokuta can't work the mistake has been made let it go 140 Likes 6 Shares |

COMRADES, kudos to the current administration of Cross River State for reviving Tinapa and Obudu, unlike the former governor (Ayade) who only knows how to speak 'big big' grammars and looted the economy of the state 19 Likes |

If this present governor can bring back Tinapa and Obudu Cattle Ranch, then he has done well for hospitality in the state... 29 Likes 2 Shares |

Waste of funds. Like the first person already elaborated, we don't have the spending population that will make this profitable. These governors and white elephant projects are like Siamese twins 26 Likes 1 Share |

mrvitalis:Where in the whole wide world have you ever seen any people doing serious tourism business with the aim of attracting only its people? Tinapa's travails have nothing to do with Nigeria's poverty. Tinapa was stolen to death and if this governor likes, let him not sell it to serious investors, his successors will still steal it to oblivion! 44 Likes 4 Shares |

JohnBullMySon: Lol have you ever been to Buruj Al-Arab in Dubai? Do you know how westerners travel just to visit the LUXURIOUS 7star hotel, Buruj Al-Arab? You think tourist travel all the way to Dubai to see their streets?! What about Egypt? It's the Pyramids. My point is, there is a center of attraction that calls for invitation. Tinapa was mismanaged. 103 Likes 3 Shares |

Zxcvbnmghtr: That yellow iron in the middle is what you’re comparing with Burj Al Arab and the historical pyramids of Giza. Well I don’t have time for long talk. Just focus on your natural attractions and create a safe environment if you want to see tourists. All these shabby contraptions will not impress the white man. 25 Likes 2 Shares |

Typical black man. The guy you're quoting is dragging you out of the bush but you insist on entering inside. How many countries have you visited for tourism purpose? This foreigners travel to other countries to get a feel of their culture (the people, the food, the way of life, the traditions) and not some white washed hotel or resort. The question is, can an American or European tourist safely walk around in the streets of Calabar or any town in Nigeria ? Zxcvbnmghtr: 33 Likes 1 Share |

BoldBrainz:We normally do not respond to people online especially ignorant folks like you but we choose to respond to you because you seem to be abusing your privilege of being ignorant on a global platform. You are not the only ignorant person online. Please keep your ignorance to yourself, do not force it down other people's throat. It is because of people like your that intelligent journalists do not abound in Africa because when we make a publication and present information that is somewhat alien to you, instead of you to do a simple research and learn from it, the first thing you do is to ignorantly attack the author. You even had the audacity to say that I wrote nonsense. Look at the location of Calabar on the map again before you make a mockery of yourself publicly. Geographically speaking, Calabar, Cross River State is located in Nigeria's South East. Whatever you designate it politically does not change the location on the map. 35 Likes 2 Shares

tvafrique: You can write all the epistles you want with an accompaniment of whatever maps and graphs that suit your disjointed analysis borne of your warped intelligence, but all of it won't change the practical reality that Calabar is NOT in the South Eastern region of Nigeria. You're stylishly looking to push an agenda and it is only elephantine stupidity that should give you the impression that all of the reading public is going to quietly let you get away with this sordid attempt at blatant misinformation. Again, respect yourself! 29 Likes 3 Shares |

Melagros:You’re wrong.. I watched that Ayade interview with Arise Tv where he was asked about Tinapa. He made some good and classic point.. I think the number 1 problem of Tinapa is the location. I’ll attach the YouTube video for you to watch when I find it.. 49 Likes |

JohnBullMySon: Whites still travel to Egypt for tourism despite records of deliberate attacks on tourist by religious fanatics, hence it's not an absolute as you are trying to make it sound about safety. The problem with Tinapa is not more than mismanagement. The question is, should it be left to rot because of your claims # bolded? 63 Likes |

BoldBrainz:I'm from the South South which is not even the best way to describe a geographical location but let's leave that aside, Cross River is more Eastern then the Igbo states, can't you see it? They were only grouped with the South South for political reason which doesn't correspond with their geographical location. I don't know why you lots justify your stupidity and ignorance publicly without shame. 28 Likes |

Nigerians don’t be decieved by our evil leaders. Finals won’t bring food on our table Let us all come out and protest until subsidy is restored. Govt and governors are now richer while the average man is living in penury. Nigerians I am ashamed of you all. Suffering and smiling. Chai 3 Likes |

Whether the refineries work or not; whether Nigerians are able to get 3-square meal or not; whether the federal government increases the minimum wage or not; whether there is insecurity or not, these are not Reeno Omokrii's problems. Reeno's problem is Peter Obi. This is how you know a paid media thug. A paid media thug doesn't concern himself with the barrage of challenges facing a nation but to troll an individual good enough to lead the people out of economic hardship 10 Likes |
