There are cases where they mauled their owner or kids to death. You can't predict those crossbred wild animals Nigerians call pet dogs. Most of them have irrational and erratic temperament due to the crossbreeding that brought them to existence.

If you take home security into account when getting a dog then a guard dog by breed and training is the right option but if you want a pet dog around your home there are miniature dog breeds with friendly
predisposition even the local ekuke falls in this category. It depends on one's choice
In my own case I needed a guard dog that can ward of malevolent intruders so I went for a boerboel.
Large dog breeds do not pose any sort danger if they are early socialized, trained, and not abused. I bet the dog written of on this thread was going through a lot in the hands of the owner so much so that it drove the dog raving mad.

E no easy o. Vet told me yesterday that the dog has to eat just once a day, meanwhile I’ve been feeding twice. A little relief on that part 😄

I'm a breeder, I always tell people a dog is not a toy! Before you get a pup from me you must sign an indemnity and a list of other training you MUST afford the dog.
Eg, 1) you must bring out time to properly socialize the dog as a pup..

Good thing is, I offer same training for a few.
