What do people abroad pay heavily for? let me tell you, Nigerians in Nigeria pay more in taxes and multiple taxes than those who live abroad!
To live in anything near 30% of lifestyle abroad in Nigeria is almost 50 times more expensive than any bill abroad in the west. Start with Electricity!
Don't mind dem! Tinubu is charging them VAT and taxes for everything without them even knowing.

So which country has all these. Problems you listed? Don't tell lies.

Man died in his tent? Lies?

Why would you wanna speed anyhow when driving? your fault if you pay speeding fine. You don't even have to drive, take the bus or train grin

Organic food price through the roof? And food prices outrageously expensive? You forking Liar!

If you are lonely, come out and make friends, don't sit in your small room and wait for friends to come make you.

Again, i ask, which country has all these problems you listed?
Even though you are clearly ignorant, it would help your life if you are not a foolish irritant in addition.

It's not easy any where. Going abroad ain't a bed of roses, it's not the way people assumed until they get here. However the situation abroad is.

It's still far far better than living in an hopeless country like Nigeria where everything is so uncertain. At least you are certain of having power 247 as long as your payment is guaranteed or done pre usage service. You are sure of so many things as long as you can work to be able to afford it but the opposite is the case in Nigeria.

I know perfectly and also understand that it's not worth it to sell your child for the enhancement of travelling to an uncertain future. It's satanic and devilish.

That's infact something I can't even fathom cos let's say the couple eventually sold the child and travelled. I bet the spirit of that child alone will hunt them to perdition in whatever they lay their hands to do. They can never succeed. They maybe even get deported back to the slumest of the slum or just die unexpectedly.

However, I support travelling abroad for greener pasture if done in a clean and legit way. Don't hurt anybody in Nigeria to come here, don't carry curses all the way from Nigeria and have a feeling that you will come here and succeed. Reconcile with everyone even if they don't know you are traveling out, just call that your friend that hurt you badly and say I have forgiven you and I pray we both succeed in whatever we do. Maintain peace with everyone before you Japa. If you are owing someone, please pay back and if someone is owing you. Make an agreement and drop and account to be paid into. Don't go over and fight dirty. Unbundle your heart, don't carry any load to Oyinbo land in your heart, sweep it and make it clean so that good things and favour will follow you. That's my take. I need to sleep....it's still better here o and don't let anybody discourage you.....any gaddem person shouldn't discourage abeg. Make a breakthrough for your family in Nigeria especially those that can't travel due to one reason or the other.......let's carry ourselves, it's by so doing that we can survive this ungodly, corrupt kleptomaniacs we have as leaders. Atleast, if we can survive for now by doing legit things to sustain us. Then we can have enough energy and exposure to fight these monsters of leadership we have in Nigeria.....someone should tell me to get out from here and go sleep.... 😂 😂..... Regards

Shame.

Many aspiring abroadians do not know that abroad is filled with uncertainty.

Many marriages have been strained because of relocation. There was the case of a married man whose wife abandoned him because he could not provide after relocating abroad. He died in his tent in a biting cold during winter.

Only a numbskull would sell his child for relocation purposes. There is no guarantee of success after relocation. Even the local citizens are struggling to survive, then a foreigner thinks he is special because he is a foreigner. Just imagine.

If you are doing well in Nigeria, stay put, make money and send your children abroad to school. It is easier for your children to climb than it is for you at middle age.

You'd pay taxes. Some would argue that the taxes are working for the people. Well, I pay taxes that don't even apply to me. I paid unemployment tax, but when I became unemployed, I was denied unemployment benefits, despite paying for it. I cannot owe my landlord, they'd report me to the justice system which would create a negative record for me for credit, and applying for certain things.

I cannot speed anyhow or drive nonsense, I'd receive a fine. All roads are tolled, and if you don't pay, you can't pass. You must declare all your earnings annually, and if you hide an earning, and they find out, you'd receive a heavy fine. I received a fine that is the equivalent of 2.472 million naira in today's naira for making a mistake in my tax declaration. It took me 4 months of pain to pay that fine.

Food is outrageously expensive and when it is organic, it is over the roof. Food that can potentially hamper one's health are affordable.

Then loneliness is something else. Many have gotten into trouble for being unable to deal with it.

Security is not always top notch, but the media kills most of the stories in order to paint their country as being on top of things.

But roads are good, schools are working, transport is mostly okay, but everything comes at a heavy price.

You spoke well sir,but get ready, they will come here and say, you're trying to discourage others from experiencing good life like you are enjoying abroad,or that you should come back to Nigeria or you're a paid government agent,or any of those nonsense they say.

They have said a lot against me over the years. There is no name they haven't called me here. One even told me he was a lunatic and branded me a liar. When I proved my point, he started trying to attack me on other grounds.

These are the toxic human beings and deranged fellas we find on Nairaland daily.

The only reason I create awareness on certain issues here is that for every lunatic and backward-thinking person on Nairaland, there are at least a thousand who are sensible and take sense where they find it.

The father of one, a labourer, identified as Uchenna Eziekwe and his wife, Chineye (22), were arrested while enquiring how to sell their baby boy at the Isolo General Hospital, Lagos.

Explaining how they were arrested, a spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hudenyin, revealed that the arrest was effected on July 9, 2024.
